¹The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,

¹预言耶路撒冷必被围困

²Please inquire of Yahweh for us; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon makes war against us: perhaps Yahweh will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.

²“请你替我们求问耶和华，因为巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来攻击我们；也许耶和华会为我们行奇事，使尼布甲尼撒离开我们回去。”

³Then Jeremiah said to them, You shall tell Zedekiah:

³耶利米就对他们说：“你们要对西底家这样说：

⁴Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you, without the walls; and I will gather them into the midst of this city.

⁴‘耶和华以色列的　神这样说：看哪！我必使你们手中的武器，就是你们用来与城外围困你们的巴比伦王和迦勒底人作战的武器，转回堆积在这城的中心。

⁵I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation.

⁵我必在怒气、烈怒和忿怒中，用伸出来的手和强有力的膀臂，亲自攻击你们。

⁶I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and animal: they shall die of a great pestilence.

⁶我要击打住在这城的人和牲畜，他们都要因极大的瘟疫而死。

⁷Afterward, says Yahweh, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, even such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

⁷然后，我必把犹大王西底家和他的臣民，就是在这城里经过瘟疫、刀剑之灾和饥荒而幸存的人，都交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和他们的仇敌，以及寻索他们性命的人的手中。尼布甲尼撒要用刀剑击杀他们，绝不顾惜，不留情，不怜悯。’”这是耶和华的宣告。

⁸To this people you shall say, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

⁸劝人民向迦勒底人投降耶和华又吩咐耶利米：“你要对这人民说：‘耶和华这样说：看哪！我把生命的路和死亡的路摆在你们面前。

⁹He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes out, and passes over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be to him for a prey.

⁹凡留在这城里的，必因刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死；但出去向围困你们的迦勒底人投降的，必可以活着，捡回自己的性命。

¹⁰For I have set my face on this city for evil, and not for good, says Yahweh: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

¹⁰因为我已经决意向这城降祸不降福；这城必交在巴比伦王的手中，他必放火把城烧毁。’”这是耶和华的宣告。

¹¹Touching the house of the king of Judah, hear the word of Yahweh:

¹¹惩罚王室“你要对犹大王室说：‘你们要听耶和华的话。

¹²House of David, thus says Yahweh, Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

¹²大卫家啊！耶和华这样说：你们每早晨应秉公审判，解救被抢夺的脱离欺压者的手；免得我的烈怒因你们（“你们”有古抄本作“他们”）的恶行发作，如火焚烧，无人能熄灭。

¹³Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain, says Yahweh; you that say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

¹³看哪！在山谷上、在岩石平原上的耶路撒冷啊！我要攻击你。’这是耶和华的宣告。’你们说：谁能下来攻击我们，谁能进入我们的住处呢？

¹⁴I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says Yahweh; and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is around her.

¹⁴我必照着你们所作的事应得的结果惩罚你们；我要在耶路撒冷的树林中放火，吞灭她四围的一切。’”这是耶和华的宣告。
