1Then drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
1西罗非哈之众女儿
2They stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, at the door of the Tent of Meeting, saying,
2站在会幕门口，在摩西和以利亚撒祭司、众领袖和全体会众面前，说：
3“Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against Yahweh in the company of Korah: but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.
3“我们的父亲死在旷野，他并不是在那聚集攻击耶和华的人之中，不属可拉一党的人；他死在自己的罪中，只是他没有儿子。
4Why should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among the brothers of our father.”
4为什么因为我们的父亲没有儿子，就把他的名从他的家族中除掉呢？求你在我们父亲的兄弟中，给我们产业。”
5Moses brought their cause before Yahweh.
5于是摩西就把她们的案件呈到耶和华面前。
6Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
6耶和华对摩西说：
7“The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: you shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brothers; and you shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.
7“西罗非哈的女儿说得有理，你一定要在她们父亲的兄弟中，给她们产业，要把她们父亲的产业给她们。
8You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.
8你也要告诉以色列人说：‘一个人死时，如果没有儿子，就要使他的产业归给他的女儿。
9If he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers.
9如果他没有女儿，就要把他的产业给他的兄弟。
10If he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
10如果他没有兄弟，就要把他的产业给他父系的兄弟。
11If his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be to the children of Israel a statute and ordinance, as Yahweh commanded Moses.’”
11如果他父亲没有兄弟，你们就要把他的产业给他家族中最近的亲属，那人就要得他的产业。这要作以色列人的律例、典章，是照着耶和华吩咐摩西的。’”
12Yahweh said to Moses, “Go up into this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the children of Israel.
12约书亚承继摩西的职位（申31:1-8）耶和华吩咐摩西说：“你要上这亚巴琳山去，看看我赐给以色列人的地。
13When you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered;
13看了以后，你也必归到你的本族那里去，像你哥哥亚伦归去一样。
14because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes.” (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)
14因为在寻的旷野，会众争闹的时候，你们违背了我的命令，没有在涌水之地，在会众眼前尊我为圣。”
15Moses spoke to Yahweh, saying,
15摩西对耶和华说：
16“Let Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,
16“愿耶和华万人之灵的 神，立一个人治理会众，
17who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the congregation of Yahweh not be as sheep which have no shepherd.”
17可以在他们面前出入；带领他们出入，免得耶和华的会众好像没有牧人的羊一样。”
18Yahweh said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;
18耶和华对摩西说：“你要拣选嫩的儿子约书亚，他心里有圣灵，你要按手在他头上，
19and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and commission him in their sight.
19叫他站在以利亚撒祭司和全体会众面前，当他们的面委派他。
20You shall put of your honor on him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.
20你要把你的尊荣给他几分，好叫以色列全体会众都听从他。
21He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.”
21他要站在以利亚撒祭司面前，以利亚撒要借着乌陵的判断，在耶和华面前为他求问；他和以色列众人，就是全体会众，都要按着以利亚撒的命令出入。”
22Moses did as Yahweh commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
22于是，摩西照着耶和华吩咐他的去行；他把约书亚领来，叫他站在以利亚撒祭司和全体会众面前，
23and he laid his hands on him, and commissioned him, as Yahweh spoke by Moses.
23按手在他头上，委派他，是照着耶和华借摩西吩咐的。
