¹Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

¹فاني لست اريد ايها الاخوة ان تجهلوا ان آباءنا جميعهم كانوا تحت السحابة وجميعهم اجتازوا في البحر

²and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

²وجميعهم اعتمدوا لموسى في السحابة وفي البحر

³and all ate the same spiritual food;

³وجميعهم اكلوا طعاما واحدا روحيا

⁴and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

⁴وجميعهم شربوا شرابا واحدا روحيا. لانهم كانوا يشربون من صخرة روحية تابعتهم والصخرة كانت المسيح.

⁵However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

⁵لكن باكثرهم لم يسرّ الله لانهم طرحوا في القفر.

⁶Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

⁶وهذه الامور حدثت مثالا لنا حتى لا نكون نحن مشتهين شرورا كما اشتهى اولئك.

⁷Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” Exodus 32:6

⁷فلا تكونوا عبدة اوثان كما كان اناس منهم. كما هو مكتوب جلس الشعب للاكل والشرب ثم قاموا للعب.

⁸Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.

⁸ولا نزن كما زنى اناس منهم فسقط في يوم واحد ثلاثة وعشرون الفا.

⁹Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.

⁹ولا نجرب المسيح كما جرب ايضا اناس منهم فاهلكتهم الحيّات.

¹⁰Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.

¹⁰ولا تتذمروا كما تذمر ايضا اناس منهم فاهلكهم المهلك.

¹¹Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

¹¹فهذه الامور جميعها اصابتهم مثالا وكتبت لإنذارنا نحن الذين انتهت الينا اواخر الدهور.

¹²Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.

¹²اذا من يظن انه قائم فلينظر ان لا يسقط.

¹³No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

¹³لم تصبكم تجربة الا بشرية. ولكن الله امين الذي لا يدعكم تجربون فوق ما تستطيعون بل سيجعل مع التجربة ايضا المنفذ لتستطيعوا ان تحتملوا.

¹⁴Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

¹⁴لذلك يا احبائي اهربوا من عبادة الاوثان

¹⁵I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.

¹⁵اقول كما للحكماء. احكموا انتم في ما اقول.

¹⁶The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?

¹⁶كاس البركة التي نباركها أليست هي شركة دم المسيح. الخبز الذي نكسره أليس هو شركة جسد المسيح.

¹⁷Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.

¹⁷فاننا نحن الكثيرين خبز واحد جسد واحد لاننا جميعنا نشترك في الخبز الواحد.

¹⁸Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?

¹⁸انظروا اسرائيل حسب الجسد. أليس الذين يأكلون الذبائح هم شركاء المذبح.

¹⁹What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

¹⁹فماذا اقول. أان الوثن شيء او ان ما ذبح للوثن شيء.

²⁰But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.

²⁰بل ان ما يذبحه الامم فانما يذبحونه للشياطين لا للّه. فلست اريد ان تكونوا انتم شركاء الشياطين.

²¹You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.

²¹لا تقدرون ان تشربوا كاس الرب وكاس شياطين. لا تقدرون ان تشتركوا في مائدة الرب وفي مائدة شياطين.

²²Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

²²ام نغير الرب. ألعلنا اقوى منه

²³“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.

²³كل الاشياء تحل لي لكن ليس كل الاشياء توافق. كل الاشياء تحل لي ولكن ليس كل الاشياء تبني.

²⁴Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.

²⁴لا يطلب احد ما هو لنفسه بل كل واحد ما هو للآخر.

²⁵Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,

²⁵كل ما يباع في الملحمة كلوه غير فاحصين عن شيء من اجل الضمير.

²⁶for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.” Psalm 24:1

²⁶لان للرب الارض وملأها.

²⁷But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.

²⁷وان كان احد من غير المؤمنين يدعوكم وتريدون ان تذهبوا فكل ما يقدم لكم كلوا منه غير فاحصين من اجل الضمير.

²⁸But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”

²⁸ولكن ان قال لكم احد هذا مذبوح لوثن فلا تأكلوا من اجل ذاك الذي اعلمكم والضمير. لان للرب الارض وملأها

²⁹Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?

²⁹اقول الضمير. ليس ضميرك انت بل ضمير الآخر. لانه لماذا يحكم في حريتي من ضمير آخر.

³⁰If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?

³⁰فان كنت انا اتناول بشكر فلماذا يفترى عليّ لاجل ما اشكر عليه.

³¹Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

³¹فاذا كنتم تأكلون او تشربون او تفعلون شيئا فافعلوا كل شيء لمجد الله.

³²Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;

³²كونوا بلا عثرة لليهود ولليونانيين ولكنيسة الله.

³³even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.

³³كما انا ايضا أرضي الجميع في كل شيء غير طالب ما يوافق نفسي بل الكثيرين لكي يخلصوا
