¹In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word;

¹इहइ तरह पत्नियन अपने पतियन क अधीनता मानत रहइँ। जइसेन यदि ओनमाँ स कउनो परमेस्सर क उपदेस क पालन नाही करतियन तउ उ पचे कछू तोहरे पवित्तर अउर आदरपूर्ण चाल चलन स जीत लीन्ह जाइँ, बिवा कउनो बात-चीत क उ सबइ जउने तरह तू पचे अच्छी तरह स रहित अहा।

²seeing your pure behavior in fear.

²तोहार पति लोग तोहार पवित्तर जीवन क देखिही जउन तरह तू पचे परमेस्सर क आदर देत भए रहबिउँ।

³Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;

³तोहार साज सिंगार बाहरी न होइ क चाही महतलब जउन बात क चोटी गुहइ, सोने क आभूसण पहिरइ अउर नीक नीक कपड़ा पहिरइ स होत ह।

⁴but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.

⁴बल्कि तोहार सिंगार तउ तोहरे भीतर क व्यक्तित्व होइ चाही जउन कोमल सान्त आतिमा क अविनासी सौन्दर्य स युक्त होइ। परमेस्सर क दृस्टि मँ जउन मुल्यावान होइ।

⁵For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:

⁵काहेकि बीते जुग मँ उ सबइ स्त्रियन क, अपने क सजावइ क इहइ ढंग रहा, जइसेन ओनकर सबइ आसा परमेस्सर प टिकी अहइँ उ पचे अपने पति क अधीन रहत रहिन।

⁶as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.

⁶जइसेन इब्राहीम क आग्या मानइवाली रहइवाली सारा जउन ओका आपन सुआमी मानत रही। तू पचे भी अगर नीक काम करत अहा अउर डेरात नाही अहा तउ सारा क बिटिया ही अहा।

⁷You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.

⁷अइसेन ही तू सबइ पति लोगन, अपनी पत्नियन क साथ समझदारी स रहा, काहेकि वह सारीरीक दृस्टि स कमज़ोर अहइँ। जीवन क बरदान मँ ओनका आपन आपन उत्तरधिकारी माना जइसेन तोहरे पराथना मँ बाधा पड़इ।

⁸Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,

⁸आखिर मँ तू पचन क सान्ति स रहइ चाही। एक दूसर क समझइ क कोसिस करा। एक दूसर स भाइयन क तरह पिरेम करा। दयालु अउर नरम बना।

⁹not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

⁹एक बुराई क बदला दूसर बुराई स न द्या कि गाली क बदले गाली द्या। एकरे विपरीत आसीस द्या। काहेकि परमेस्सर तोह पचन क आसीर्बास देइ बरे बोलाएस ह। इहइ स तू पचन्क परमेस्सर क आसीर्बाद क उत्तराधिकार मिली।

¹⁰For, “He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.

¹⁰पवित्तर सास्तर कहत ह: “जउन जीवन आनन्द उठाइ चाही जउन समइ की सद्गति क देखइ चाही ओका कि कबहूँ बुरा न बोलइ उ अपने ओठन क छल वाणी स रोकइ

¹¹Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

¹¹बुराई स अपने क अलग रखइ। उ करइ सदा उ नेक करमन क जउन अहइ नीक चाही ओका कर जतन सान्ति पावइ चाही ओका अनुसरण करइ सान्ति क

¹²For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” Psalm 34:12-16

¹²पर्भू की आँखियन अहइँ टिकी ओनहियन प जो नीक अहइँ लागे कान पर्भू क ओनकी पराथना प पइ जउन करत अहइँ बुरा करम मुँहना सदा फेरत अहइ पर्भू ओनसे।” भजन संहिता 34:12-16

¹³Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?

¹³अगर जउन उत्तम अहइ तू पचे उहि क करइ क लालयित रहा तउ भला कउनो तोह सबन क नुकसान पहुँचाइ सकत ह।

¹⁴But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.” Isaiah 8:12

¹⁴मुला अगर तोहका भले क खातिर दुःख उठावइ क पड़इ तउ तू सब धन्य अहा। “इहइ खातिर कउनो क भय स भयभीत न रहा अउर न ही परेसान ह्वा अउर न विचालित।”

¹⁵But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:

¹⁵अपने मन मँ मसीह क पर्भू क प्रति नरम ह्वा, श्रद्धा स नत ह्वा! तू जउन बिस्सास रखत अहा अगर कउनो ओकरे बार मँ पूछइ तउ सदा उत्तर देइ क तइयार रहा।

¹⁶having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

¹⁶मुला विनम्रता अउर आदर क साथ अइसा करा। आपन हिरदइ सुद्ध राखा जइसेन अपने अच्छे मसीह व्यवहार स तोहरे नीक गुणन क निन्दा करइवाले तोहार अपमान करत भए लजाइँ।

¹⁷For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.

¹⁷अगर परमेस्सर क इहइ इच्छा अहइ कि क अच्छा बाटइ अच्छे काम करत भए दुःख उठावा इ नाहीं कि बुरा करत भए।

¹⁸Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

¹⁸काहेकि ईसू मसीह भी हमरे पाप खातिर दुःख उठाइस। मतलब उ निर्दोस रहइ हम सबइ पापियन खातिर एक बार मरि गवा ताकि हमका परमेस्सर क नगीचे लइ जाइ। सरीर क भाव स तउ उ मारा गवा मुला आतिमा मँ जियावा गवा।

¹⁹in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,

¹⁹आतिमा क स्थिति मँ उ जाइके जउन जेल मँ बंदी आतिमन रहेन ओन बंदी भइयन आतिमन क उपदेस दिहेस।

²⁰who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

²⁰जउन उ समइ परमेस्सर क आग्या न मानइवाली सबइ आतिमा रहिन जब नूह क नाव बनाई जात रही अउर परमेस्सर बड़े धीरज क साथ प्रतीच्छा करत रहा। उ नाव मँ थोड़ेन-मतलब आठइ मनई पानी स बचावा जाय सेकन।

²¹This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

²¹इ पानी उ बपतिस्मा क तरह अहइ जेहसे अब तोहार उद्धारण होत अहइ। बपतिस्मा सरीर क मैल क छोड़ावइ बरे नाही अहइ, बल्कि सुद्ध अंत:करण खातिर परमेस्सर स बिनती अहइ। अब तउ बपतिस्मा तोहका ईसू मसीह क पुनरुत्थान क दुआरा बचावत अहइ।

²²who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

²²उ ईसू सरग मँ गवा अउर अब परमेस्सर क दाहिने हाथ बिराजमान अहइ अउर अब सरगदूत, अधिकारियन अउर सबइ सक्तियन ओकरे अधीन कइ दीन्ह गइ अहइँ।
