¹For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,

¹भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, तोहरे लगे हमार आवइ क सम्बन्ध क तू खुदइ जानत ह कि उ निरर्थक नाहीं बाटइ।

²but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

²तू जानत ह कि फिलिप्पी मँ सब यातना झेलइ अउर दुर्व्यवहार सहइ क बाद उ परमेस्सर क सहायता स हमका कड़ा विरोध क रहत भए परमेस्सर क सुसमाचार क सुनावइ क साहस मिला रहा।

³For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.

³इ निस्चय स जब हम लोगन अपने उपदेसन बरे प्रोत्साहित करित ह एह बरे नाहीं कि हम भटका भए अही। अउर न तउ एह बरे कि हमार उद्देस्य गन्दा अहइ अउर एहबरे की नाहीं कि हम लोगन क छलई क जतन करित ह।

⁴But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.

⁴हम सुसमाचार का प्रचार लोगन क खुस करइ क कोसिस नाहीं करित ह बल्कि हम तउ परमेस्सर क खुस करित ह जउन हमरे मने क भेद जानत ह।

⁵For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness),

⁵निस्चय ही हम कभउँ ठकुर सुहात बानी क साथे तोहरे सामने नाहीं आए। जइसेन क तू जनबइ करत ह, हमार उपदेस कउनउ लोभ क बहाना नाहीं बा। परमेस्सर साच्छी बा

⁶nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

⁶हम लोगन स कउनउ मान सम्मान नाही चाहा। न तोहसे अउर न कीहीउ अउर स।

⁷But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

⁷जद्यपि हम मसीह क प्रेरितन क रूप मँ आपन अधिकार जताइ सकत रहे किन्तु हम तोहरे बीच वइसेन ही नरमी क साथे रही जइसे एक महतारी अपने बचवन क पालन पोषन करत ह।

⁸Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.

⁸हम तोहरे बरे वइसेन ही नरमी क अनुभव किहे अही, इही बरे परमेस्सर स मिलइ सुसमाचार क ही नाहीं, बल्कि खुद अपने आपके भी हम तोहरे साथे बाँटी लेइ चाहित ह काहेकि तू हमार प्यारा होइ ग अहा।

⁹For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.

⁹भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, तू हमार कठिन मेहनत अउर कठिनाई क याद रखा जउन हम दिन-रात इही बरे किहे अही ताकि हम परमेस्सर क सुसमाचार क सुनावत तोह पर बोझ न बनी।

¹⁰You are witnesses with God, how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.

¹⁰तू साच्छी अहा अउर परमेस्सर भी साच्छी अहइ कि तू बिसवासियन क प्रति हम केतॅनी आस्था, धार्मिकता अउर दोस रहित क साथे व्यवहार किहे रहेन।

¹¹As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

¹¹तू जनबइ करत ह कि जइसेन एक पिता अपने बचवन क साथे व्यवहार करत ह

¹²to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

¹²वइसेन ही हम तोहमाँ स हर एक्क क आग्रह क साथे प्रेरित कीन्ह ह अउर आराम दिहे अही। अउर ओह रीति स जाइ क आदेस दिहा ह, जेहसे परमेस्सर, जे तोहका अपना राज्य अउर महिमा मँ बोलाई भेजेस ह, खुस होत ह।

¹³For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.

¹³अउर इही बरे हम परमेस्सर क धन्यबाद हमेसा करत रहित ह काहेकि हमसे तू जब परमेस्सर क बचन ग्रहन किहा ह तउ ओका मनवीय संदेस क रूप मँ नाही बल्कि परमेस्सर क संदेस क रूप मँ गहण किहा, जइसेन कि उ सही मँ बा। अउर तू बिसवासियन पर जेकर प्रभाव भी बा।

¹⁴For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews;

¹⁴भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, तू यहूदियन मँ रहिके मसीह ईसू मँ परमेस्सर क कलीसियावन क अनुसरण करत रहे रह्या। तू अपने साथी देस भाइयन स वइसेन ही यातना झेलटे अहा जइसे उ पचे ओन्हन यहूदियन क हाथे झेले रहेन।

¹⁵who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and didn’t please God, and are contrary to all men;

¹⁵यहूदियन पर्भू ईसू क मारि डाएन अउर नबियन क बहरे खदेड़ दिहेन, उ परमेस्सर क खुस नाहीं करतेन उ त सम्मइ मानवता क दुस्मन हयेन।

¹⁶forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

¹⁶उ गैर यहूदियन क सुसमाचार क उपदेस देइ मँ बाधा खड़ी करत हीं कि कहूँ ओन्हन पचन क उद्धार न होइ जाई। इ बातेन स उ हमेसा अपने पापन क घड़ा भरत रहत हीं अउर अन्तत: अब त परमेस्सर क प्रकोप ओनपर पूरी तरह स आई पड़त ह।

¹⁷But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,

¹⁷भाइयो तथा बहिनियो! जहाँ तलक हमार बात बा, हम रचिके समइ क बरे तोहसे बिछुड़ ग रहे। बिचारन स नाहीं, केवल सरीरे स। तउन हम तोहसे मिलइ क बहुत उतावला होइ उठे। हमार इच्छा तेज होइ उठी रही।

¹⁸because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us.

¹⁸हाँ! हम तोहसे मिलइ क बरे बहुत जतन करत रहे। मुझ पौलुस कइय दाई कोसिस किहेस परन्तु सइतान ओहमे बाँधा डाएस।

¹⁹For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn’t it even you, before our Lord Jesus TR adds “Christ” at his coming?

¹⁹भला बतावा तु हमार आसा, हमार उल्लास य हमार उ मुकुट जेहपर हमका गरब बा, का अहइ? का उ तूही नाहीं अहा। हमार पर्भू ईसू मसीह क दोबारा अवाई प जब हम ओनके सामने हाजिर होबइ

²⁰For you are our glory and our joy.

²⁰तउ उहाँ तू हमार महिमा अउर हमारे आनन्द मँ होब्या।
