¹Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,

¹कुरनेलियुस नाउँ क एक मनई कैसरिया मँ रहा। उ फउज क उ दले क नायक रहा जेका इतालवी कहा जात रहा।

²a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.

²उ परमेस्सर स डेरॅाइवाला भगत रहा अउर वइसा ही ओकर परिवार भी रहा। उ गरीबन क मदद करइ बरे दिल खोलिके दान देत रहा अउर हमेसा ही परमेस्सर क पराथना करत रहत रहा।

³At about the ninth hour of the day 3:00 PM , he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, “Cornelius!”

³दिन क नवे पहर क नगिचे उ एक दर्सन मँ साफ साफ लखेस कि परमेस्सर क एक सरगदूत ओकरे लगे आवा ह अउर ओसे कहत ह, “कुरनेलियुस।”

⁴He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.

⁴तउ कुरनेलियुस डेरात भवा सरगदूत कइँती लखत भवा बोला, “हे पर्भू, इ का अहइ?” सरगदूत ओसे कहेस, “तोहार पराथना अउर गरीब गुरबा क दिया भवा तोहार दान एक यादगार क रूप मँ तोहार याद दियावइ बरे परमेस्सर क लगे पहोंचा अहइँ।

⁵Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is surnamed Peter.

⁵तउ कछू मनइयन क याफा पठवा अउर समौन नाउँ क एक मनई क, जउऩ पतरस कहा जात ह, हिआँ बोलॉइ ल्या।

⁶He lodges with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside. TR adds “This one will tell you what it is necessary for you to do.” ”

⁶उ समौन नाउँ क एक चमार क हिआँ रहत ह। ओकर घर समुदूदर क किनारे बा।”

⁷When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

⁷उ सरगदूत जउन ओसे बात करत रहा, जब चला गवा तउ उ आपन दुइ नउकरन अउर आपन खुद क सहायक लोगन मँ स एक भक्त सिपाही क बोलाएस

⁸Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁸अउर जउन कछू भवा रहा, ओनका सब कछू बताइके याफा पठइ दिहेस।

⁹Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.

⁹अगले दिन जब उ पचे चलतइ चलत सहर क निचके पहोंचइ क ही रहेन, पतरस दुपहरिया मँ पराथना करइ छत्ते प चढ़ा।

¹⁰He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.

¹⁰ओका भूख लाग, तउ उ कछू खाइ चाहत रहा। उ पचे जब खइयाके तइया करत रहेन तउ ओकर समाधि लग गइ।

¹¹He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,

¹¹अउर उ लखेस कि अकास खुलि गवा अहइ अउर एक बड़वार चद्दर जइसी चीज तरखाले उतरत बा। ओका चारिहुँ कइँती स धइके धरती प उतारा जात बा।

¹²in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.

¹²ओह प हर तरह क पसु, धरती प रेंगइ वाला जीव-जंतु अउर अकासे क पंछी रहेन।

¹³A voice came to him, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat!”

¹³फिन एक अवाज ओसे कहेस, “पतरस उठ, मार अउर खा।”

¹⁴But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

¹⁴पतरस कहेस, “पर्भू, फुरइ तउ नाहीं, काहेकि मइँ कबहुँ भी अपवित्तर या असुद्ध चीज क नाहीं खाएउँ ह।”

¹⁵A voice came to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”

¹⁵ऍह पइ ओनका दूसरी बार फिन अकासबाणी सुनाई दिहेस, “कउनो भी चीज क जेका परमेस्सर पवित्तर बनाए अहइ, ओनका तू ‘अपवित्तर’ न काह!”

¹⁶This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.

¹⁶तीन दाई अइसा ही भवा अउर उ पूरी वस्तु फिन अकास मँ वापिस उठाइ लीन्ह गइ।

¹⁷Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood before the gate,

¹⁷पतरस जउने दर्सन जेका लखे रहा क अरथ क बारे मँ दुबिधा करत रहा, कुरनेलियुस क पठए भए लोग दुआरे प ठाड़ भवा पूछत रहेन, “समौन क घर कहाँ बा?”

¹⁸and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there.

¹⁸उ सबइ बाहेर गोहरावत भए पूछेन, “का पतरस कहा जाइवाला समौन मेहमान क रूप मँ हियँइ रूका अहइ।?”

¹⁹While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three Reading from TR and NU. MT omits “three” men seek you.

¹⁹पतरस अबहिं उ दर्सन क बारे मँ सोचत ही रहा कि आतिमा ओसे कहेस, “सुना! तोहका तीन मनई हेरत अहइँ।

²⁰But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”

²⁰तउ खड़ा ह्वा, अउर तरखाले उतरिके बेझिझके चला जा, काहेकि ओऩका मइँ ही पठएउँ ह।”

²¹Peter went down to the men, and said, “Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?”

²¹इ तरह पतरस तरखाले उतरि आवा अउर ओन मनइयन स बोला, “मइँ उहइ अहउँ, जेका तू हेरत बाट्या। तू काहे आया ह?”

²²They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”

²²उ पचे बोलेन, “हम सबनक फऊजीनायक कुरनेलियुस पठएस ह। उ अच्छा मनई अहइ अउर सच्चे परमेस्सर क आराधना करत ह। यहूदी मनइयन मँ ओकर बहोत सम्मान अहइ। पवित्तर सरगदूत ओसे तोहका आपन घरे नेउतइ बरे कहे अहइ अउर जउन कछू कहइ ओका सुनइ बरे कहे अहइ।”

²³So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.

²³ऍह पइ पतरस ओका भितरे बोलाइ लिहस अउर ठहरइ क जगह दिहेस। फिन दूसर दिन तइयार होइके उ ओऩके संग चला गवा। अउर याफा क निवासी कछू अउर बंधु भी ओकरे संग होइ गएऩ।

²⁴On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.

²⁴दूसर दिन उ कैसरिया पहोंच गवा। हुवाँ आपन खास मित्र अउर नोतदार क बोलाइके कुरनेलियुस ओनका जोहत रहा।

²⁵When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.

²⁵पतरस अब भीतर पहोंचा तउ कुरनेलियुस ओसे भेंटइ आवा। कुरनेलियुस श्रद्धा स ओकरे गोड़वा प गिरत भवा ओका प्रणाम किहेस।

²⁶But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”

²⁶मुला ओका उठावत भवा पतरस बोला, “ठाड़ ह्वा! मइँ तउ खुद सिरिफ एक मनई हउँ।”

²⁷As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.

²⁷फिन ओकरे संग बात करत करत उ भितरे चला गवा। अउर हुवाँ उ बहोत म मनइयन क बटोरेस।

²⁸He said to them, “You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.

²⁸उ ओनसे कहेस, “तू सबइ जानत ह कि एक यहूदी बरे गैर यहूदी जाति क मनई क संग कउनो सम्बंध रखब या ओकरे हियाँ जाब विधान क खिलाफ अहइ मुला तउ भी परमेस्सर मोका देखाएस ह कि मइँ कउनो भी मनई क ‘असुद्ध’ या ‘अपवित्तर’ न कहउँ।

²⁹Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?”

²⁹यह बरे मोका जब बोलावा गवा तउ मइँ बिना कउनो एतराज क आइ गएउँ। यह बरे मइँ तोहसे पूछत हउँ कि तू मोका काहे बरे बोलाया ह।”

³⁰Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth hour, 3:00 P. M. I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

³⁰ऍह पइ कुरनेलियुस कहेस, “चार दिन पहिले इहइ समइ दिन क नवें पहर (तीन बजे) मइँ आपन घरे मँ पराथना करत रहेउँ। एकाएक चमचमात ओढ़न मँ एक मनई मोरे समन्वा आइके खड़ा भवा।

³¹and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.

³¹अउर बोला, ‘कुरनेलियुस! तोहार बिनती सुनि लीन्ह गइ अहइ अउर गरीब गुरबन क दीन्ह भवा तोहार दान परमेस्सर क समन्वा याद कीन्ह ग अहइँ।

³²Send therefore to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodges in the house of Simon a tanner, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’

³²यह बरे याफा पठइके पतरस कहावावइवाला समौन क बोलवाइके पठवा। उ समुद्दर क किनारे चमार समौन क घरे रूका बा।’

³³Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”

³³यह बरे मइँ तुरंतहि तोहका बोलवावइ पठवा ह अउर हिआँ आवइ क कृपा कइके बहोत नीक किहा ह तउ अब पर्भू जउन कछू आग्या तोहका दिए अहइँ, उ सब कछू सुनइ बरे हम पचे हिआँ परमेस्सर क अगवा हाजिर अही।”

³⁴Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism;

³⁴फिन पतरस बोलइ लाग अउर कहेस, “फुरइ अब मइँ समुझ गवा हउँ कि परमेस्सर कउनो भेद-भाव नाहीं राखत

³⁵but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

³⁵बल्कि हर जाति क कउऩो मनई जउन ओसे डेरात ह अउर नीक काम करत ह, उ ओका अपनावत ह।

³⁶The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—

³⁶इहइ अहइ उ संदेसा जेका उ ईसू मसीह स सांति क सुसमाचार क उपदेस देत भवा इस्राएल क मनइयन क दिहे रहा। उ सबहिं का पर्भू अहइ।

³⁷you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

³⁷“तू पचे उ बड़की घटना क जानत ह, जउन समूचइ यहूदिया मँ भइ रही। गलील स सुरू होइके यूहन्ना क जरिए बपतिस्मा दीन्ह जाए क पाछे जेकर प्रचार कीन्ह गवा रहा।

³⁸even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

³⁸तू सबइ नासरी ईसू क बारे मँ जानत ह कि परमेस्सर पवित्तर आतिमा स अउर सक्ती स ओकर अभिसेक कइसे किहे रहा अउर उत्तिम कारज करत भवा अउर ओन सब क जउऩ सइतान क बस मँ रहेन, नीक करत भवा चारिहुँ कइँती उ कइसे घूमत रहा। काहेकि परमेस्सर ओकरे संग रहा।

³⁹We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they also TR omits “also” killed, hanging him on a tree.

³⁹“अउर हम पचे सब बातन क साच्छी अही जेनका उ यहूदियन क पहँटा अउर यरूसलेम मँ किहे रहा। उ पचे ओका ही एक ठु लकड़ी के सलीब प टाँगिके मारि डाएन।

⁴⁰God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,

⁴⁰मुला परमेस्सर तीसरे दिना ओका फिन स जिन्दा कइ दिहेस अउर ओका परगट कराएस।

⁴¹not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

⁴¹सब मनइयन क समन्वा नाहीं मुला ओन साच्छियन क अगवा जउन परमेस्सर क हीला स पहिले ही चुन लीन्ह गएऩ। अरथ अहइ हमरे समन्वा जउन मर भएन मँ स जी जाए क पाछे ओकरे संग खाएन अउर पीएऩ।

⁴²He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.

⁴²“उहइ हमका हुकुम दिहे अहइ कि हम लोगन क उपदेस देइँ अउर सिद्ध करइँ कि इ उहइ, अहइ जउन परमेस्सर क हीला स जिन्दा भएऩ अउर मरे भएऩ मँ स निआव करइवाला मुकर्रर कीन्ह गवा अहइ।

⁴³All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”

⁴³सब नबी लोग ओकरे बारे मँ साच्छी दिहे अहइँ कि ओहमा बिसवास करइवाला हर मनई ओकरे नाउँ क हीला स पापन्क छमा पावत ह।”

⁴⁴While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.

⁴⁴पतरस अबहिं इ बातन क करत ही रहा कि ओन सब प पवित्तर आतिमा उतरि आइ जउन सुसमाचार सुने रहेन।

⁴⁵They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.

⁴⁵काहेकि पवित्तर आतिमा क बरदान गैर यहूदी प उड़ेरा जात रहा, तउ पतरस क संग आए भए यहूदी अचरज मँ पड़ि गएऩ।

⁴⁶For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

⁴⁶उ पचे किसिम किसिम क भाखा बोलत रहेन अउर परमेस्सर क स्तुति करत भए अनकत रहेन। तब पतरस बोला,

⁴⁷“Can any man forbid the water, that these who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we should not be baptized?”

⁴⁷“का कउनो इ मनइयन क बपतिस्मा देइ बरे, जल आसानी स देइ बरे मना कइ सकत ह? ऍनका भी वइसे ही पवित्तर आतिमा मिलि गवा ह, जइसेन हम पचन क।”

⁴⁸He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.

⁴⁸इ तरह उ ईसू मसीह क नाउँ मँ ओनका बपतिस्मा देइ क हुकुम दिहेस। फिन पतरस स उ पचे पराथना किहेन कि कछू दिन ओनकइ संग ठहरइ।
