¹My brothers, don’t hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality.

¹मोर पिआर भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, काहेकि महिमावान पर्भू ईसू मसीह मँ तोहार बिसवास बा, उ लोगन क प्रति पच्छपातपूर्ण न होइ।

²For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue or, meeting , and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in;

²कल्पना करा तोहरे सभा मँ कउनउ मनई सोना क अगँूठी अउर भव्य कपड़ा धारण कइके आवत ह। अउर तबहिं मइला कुचइला कपड़ा पहिरे एक गरीब मनई आवत ह।

³and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing, and say, “Sit here in a good place”; and you tell the poor man, “Stand there,” or “Sit by my footstool”;

³अउर तू जे भव्य कपड़ा धारण किहे अहइ, ओका बिसेस महत्व देत भए कहत अहा, “इहाँ एह उत्तिम आसन प बइठा,” जब कि ओह गरीब मनई स कहत अहा, “उहाँ खड़ा रहा” या “मोरे गोड़न क लगे बइठि जा।”

⁴haven’t you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

⁴अइसेन करत भए तू लोगन क बीच भेद भाऊ नाहीं किहा अउर खराब बिचारन क साथे निआवकर्ता नाहीं बनि गया?

⁵Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

⁵मोर पिआरे भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, सुना, का परमेस्सर त संसार क आँखिन मँ ओन्हन गरीबन क बिसवास मँ धनी अउर ओह राज्य क उत्तराधिकारी क रूपे मँ नाहीं चुनेस? जेकर उ, जउन ओका पिरेम करत हीं, देइ क बचन दिहे अहइ।

⁶But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?

⁶परन्तु तू तउ ओह गरीब मनई का अपमान किहा ह। का इ धनिक मनइयन उहइ नाहीं हयेन, जउन तोह प नियत्रण करत हीं अउर तोह सबन क कचरहिउ मँ घसीट लइ जात हीं?

⁷Don’t they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?

⁷का इ उहई नाहीं हयेन, जउन मसीह क ओह अच्छे नाउँ क निन्दा करत हीं, जउन तोहे सबन क दीन्ह गवा बा?

⁸However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” Leviticus 19:18 you do well.

⁸अगर तू पवित्तर सासतरन मँ मिलइवाली एह अच्छी व्यवस्था क सहीयउ मँ पालन करत अहा, “अपने पड़ोसी स भी वइसेन ही पिरेम करअ, जइसे तू अपने आप स करत अहा।” तउ तू अच्छा ही करत अहा।

⁹But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.

⁹परन्तु अगर तू पच्छपात देखॅावत अहा तउ तू पाप करत अहा। फिन तोहका व्यवस्था क तोड़इवाला ठहरावा जाई।

¹⁰For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

¹⁰काहेकि कउनउ अगर पूरी व्यवस्था क पालन करत ह अउर एक बात मँ चूकि जात ह तउ उ समूची व्यवस्था क उल्लंघन क दोसी होइ जात ह।

¹¹For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18 also said, “Do not commit murder.” Exodus 10:13; Deuteronomy 5:17 Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

¹¹काहेकि जे इ कहे रहा, “व्यभिचार न करा।” उहइ तउ इहउ कहे रहा, “हतिया न करा।” तउन अगर तू व्यभिचार नाहीं करत्या परन्तु हतिया करत अहा तउ तू व्यवस्था क तोड़इवाला अहा।

¹²So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.

¹²तू उही लोगन क समान बोला अउर ओनही क जइसेन आचरण करा जेकर ओह व्यवस्था क अनुसार निआव होइ जात बा, जेसे छुटकारा मिलत ह।

¹³For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

¹³जउन दयालुता नाहीं देखउतेन ओकरे बरे परमेस्सर क निआव बिना द्या के ही होइ। किन्तु दया निआव प बिजइ पावत ह।

¹⁴What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?

¹⁴मोर भाइयो तथा बहिनियो, अगर केउ मनई कहत ह कि उ बिसवासी बा त मुला कछू करम नाहीं करत तउ अइसेन स का लाभ जब तलक कि ओकरे करम बिसवास क अनुकूल न होइ? अइसेन बिसवास स का ओकर उद्धार कइ सकत ह?

¹⁵And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,

¹⁵अगर ईसू मँ लिप्त भाई अउ बहिन क पास कपड़न न होइ, अउर ओनके लगे खाइ तक क कछू भी न होइ,

¹⁶and one of you tells them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled”; and yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?

¹⁶अउर तोहमाँ सही केउ ओनसे कहइ “सान्ति स जियाअ, परमेस्सर तोहार कल्लियान करइ अपने क गरमावा अउर अच्छे तरह भोजन करा।” अउर तू ओनके सरीरीक जरूरतन क चीजन ओन्हे न द्या तउ फिन एकर का मूल्य बा?

¹⁷Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.

¹⁷इहइ बात बिसवास क समबन्ध मँ कहि जाउ सकत ह। अउर अगर बिसवास क साथे करम नाहीं बा तउ उ अपने आप मँ बिना प्राण क बाटइ।

¹⁸Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith.

¹⁸परन्तु केउ कहि सकत ह, “तोहरे लगे बिसवास बा, जबकि मोरे लगे करम बा अब तू बिना करमन क आपन बिसवास देखावा अउर मइँ तोहे आपन बिसवास अपने करमन क द्वारा देखाउब।”

¹⁹You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.

¹⁹का तू बिसवास करत अहा कि परमेस्सर केवल एक बा? अद्भुत! दुस्ट आतिमा इ बिसवास करत ह कि परमेस्सर बा अउर उ काँपत रहत ह।

²⁰But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?

²⁰अरे मूरख! का तोहे प्रमाण चाही कि करम रहित बिसवास बेकार बा?

²¹Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?

²¹का हमार पिता इब्राहीम अपने करमन क आधार प ही ओह समइ परमेस्सर धर्मी नाहीं ठहरावा गवा रहा जब उ अपने बेटवा इसहाक क वेदी प अर्पित कइ दिहे रहा?

²²You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected;

²²तू देखा कि ओकर इ बिसवास ओकरे करमन क साथे ही सक्रिय होत रहा। अउर ओकर करमन स ही ओकर बिसवास परिपूर्ण कीन्ह गवा रहा।

²³and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness”; Genesis 15:6 and he was called the friend of God.

²³एह तरह पवित्तर सास्तर क इ कहा पूरा भवा रहा, “इब्राहीम तउ परमेस्सर प बिसवास किहेस अउर बिसवासे क अधार पे ही उ परमेस्सर का धर्मी ठहरा।” अउर इही स ही उ “परमेस्सर क दोस्त” कहा गवा।

²⁴You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.

²⁴तू देखा कि केवल बिसवासी स नाहीं, बल्कि अपने करमन स ही मनई परमेस्सर क धर्मी ठहरत ह।

²⁵In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?

²⁵इही तरह राहाब बेस्था भी बीका, जब उ परमेस्सर क दूतन क अपने घरे मँ स्वागत किहेस अउर फिन ओन्हे दुसरे रस्ता स कहूँ भेज दिहेस तउ ओह समइ का अपने करमन स परमेस्सर क धर्मी नाहीं ठहराई गइ।

²⁶For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

²⁶एह तरह जइसेन बिना आतिमा क सरीर भरा हुआ बा, वइसेनइ करम बिना बिसवास क निर्जीव बा।
