1The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
1 Dyma feibion Rueben, cyntafanedig Israel. (Ef yn wir oedd y cyntafanedig, ond am iddo halogi gwely ei dad rhoddwyd ei enedigaeth-fraint i feibion Joseff, fab Israel,
2For Judah prevailed above his brothers, and of him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)
2 ac felly ni restrir yr achau yn l yr enedigaeth-fraint. Er bod Jwda wedi rhagori ar ei frodyr, ac arweinydd wedi tarddu ohono, Joseff a gafodd yr enedigaeth-fraint.)
3the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
3 Meibion Reuben, cyntafanedig Israel: Enoch, Palu, Hesron, Carmi.
4The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
4 Meibion Joel: Semaia ei fab, Gog ei fab yntau, Simei ei fab yntau,
5Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
5 Micha ei fab yntau, Reaia ei fab yntau, Baal ei fab yntau,
6Beerah his son, whom Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.
6 Beera ei fab yntau a gaethgludodd Tiglath-pileser brenin Asyria; ef oedd pennaeth y Reubeniaid.
7His brothers by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
7 Dyma'i frodyr yn l eu teuluoedd ac yn l achau eu cenedlaethau: Jeiel y pennaeth, Sechareia, Bela fab Asas, fab Sema, fab Joel.
8and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal Meon:
8 Bu'r rhain yn byw yn Aroer a chyn belled Nebo a Baal-meon.
9and eastward he lived even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their livestock were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
9 Tua'r dwyrain yr oedd eu tir yn cyrraedd at ymylon yr anialwch sy'n ymestyn o afon Ewffrates, oherwydd yr oedd eu hanifeiliaid wedi cynyddu yng ngwlad Gilead.
10In the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they lived in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
10 Yn ystod teyrnasiad Saul, aethant i ryfel yn erbyn yr Hagariaid a'u trechu, a byw yn eu pebyll trwy holl ddwyrain Gilead.
11The sons of Gad lived over against them, in the land of Bashan to Salecah:
11 Dyma feibion Gad oedd yn byw nesaf atynt yng ngwlad Basan hyd at Salcha: Joel y pennaeth,
12Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
12 Saffam yr ail, Jaanai, Saffat.
13Their brothers of their fathers’ houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
13 Eu brodyr hwy o du375? eu hynafiaid: Michael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacan, Sa, Heber, saith.
14These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
14 Meibion Abihail: Ben-huri, Ben-jaroa, Ben-gilead, Ben-michael, Ben-jesisai, Ben-jahdo, Ben-bus.
15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers’ houses.
15 Ahi fab Abdiel, fab Guni, oedd y penteulu.
16They lived in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.
16 Yr oeddent hwy yn byw yn Gilead ac ym mhentrefi Basan, a thrwy holl gytir Saron o un terfyn i'r llall.
17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
17 Cafodd y rhain i gyd eu rhestru yn l eu hachau yn nyddiau Jotham brenin Jwda a Jeroboam brenin Israel.
18The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, that were able to go forth to war.
18 Ymysg meibion Reuben a'r Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse yr oedd pedair mil a deugain, saith gant a thrigain o wu375?r cryfion yn cario tarian a chleddyf ac yn tynnu bwa; yr oeddent wedi dysgu ymladd, ac yn barod i fynd allan i ryfel.
19They made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
19 Buont yn ymladd yn erbyn yr Hagariaid, Jetur, Neffis, a Nodab.
20They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.
20 Fe gawsant help yn eu herbyn, a gorchfygu'r Hagariaid a phawb oedd gyda hwy, oherwydd iddynt alw ar Dduw yn y frwydr ac iddo yntau wrando arnynt am eu bod yn ymddiried ynddo.
21They took away their livestock; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.
21 Cymerasant o'u hanifeiliaid yn ysbail: hanner can mil o'u camelod, hanner can mil a dau gant o ddefaid, dwy fil o asynnod, a hefyd can mil o bobl.
22For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.
22 (Am mai rhyfel Duw oedd hwn, yr oedd llawer wedi marw o'u clwyfau.) A buont yn byw yno yn eu lle hyd gyfnod y gaethglud.
23The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land: they increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon.
23 Yr oedd hanner llwyth Manasse yn byw yn y tir rhwng Basan, Baal-hermon, Senir a Mynydd Hermon, ac yr oedd llawer ohonynt.
24These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers’ houses.
24 Y rhain oedd eu pennau-teuluoedd: Effer, Isi, Eliel, Asriel, Jeremeia, Hodafia, Jadiel; gwu375?r blaenllaw ac enwog oedd y pennau-teuluoedd hyn.
25They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
25 Ond buont yn anffyddlon i Dduw eu hynafiaid, a phuteinio gyda duwiau pobl y wlad yr oedd Duw wedi eu dinistrio o'u blaenau.
26The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
26 Felly anogodd Duw Israel Pul, hynny yw Tiglath-pileser brenin Asyria, i fynd 'r Reubeniaid a'r Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse i gaethglud. Aeth yntau hwy i Hala, Habor, Hara ac afon Gosan, ac yno y maent hyd heddiw.
