1 Kings

5

1Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
1 Pan glywodd Hiram brenin Tyrus mai Solomon oedd wedi ei eneinio yn frenin yn lle ei dad, anfonodd ei weision ato, oherwydd bu Dafydd yn hoff gan Hiram erioed.
2Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
2 Anfonodd Solomon yn l at Hiram a dweud,
3“You know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Yahweh put them under the soles of his feet.
3 "Gwyddost am fy nhad Dafydd, na allodd adeiladu tu375? i enw'r ARGLWYDD ei Dduw o achos y rhyfeloedd o'i amgylch, nes i'r ARGLWYDD roi ei elynion dan wadnau ei draed.
4But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is neither adversary, nor evil occurrence.
4 Bellach, parodd yr ARGLWYDD fy Nuw imi gael llonydd oddi amgylch, heb na gwrthwynebydd na digwyddiad croes.
5Behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for my name.’
5 Y mae yn fy mwriad adeiladu tu375? i enw'r ARGLWYDD fy Nuw fel yr addawodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth fy nhad Dafydd, gan ddweud, 'Dy fab, y byddaf yn ei roi ar dy orsedd yn dy le, a adeilada'r tu375? i'm henw.'
6Now therefore command that they cut me cedar trees out of Lebanon. My servants shall be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you shall say. For you know that there is not among us any who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
6 Felly rho orchymyn i dorri i mi gedrwydd o Lebanon; fe gaiff fy ngweision i fod gyda'th rai di, ac mi dalaf iti gyflog dy weision yn l yr hyn a ofynni; gwyddost nad oes gennym ni neb mor hyddysg 'r Sidoniaid mewn cymynu coed."
7It happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.”
7 Llawenychodd Hiram yn fawr pan glywodd eiriau Solomon, a dywedodd, "Bendigedig fyddo'r ARGLWYDD heddiw am iddo roi i Ddafydd fab doeth dros y bobl niferus hyn."
8Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
8 Anfonodd at Solomon, a dweud, "Rwy'n cydsynio 'r cais a wnaethost; gwnaf bopeth a ddymuni ynglu375?n 'r cedrwydd a'r ffynidwydd.
9My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you shall receive them. You shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
9 Caiff fy ngweision eu dwyn i lawr o Lebanon at y mr, a byddaf fi'n eu gyrru'n rafftiau dros y mr i'r man a benni imi; byddaf yn eu datod yno, i ti eu cymryd. Cei dithau gyflawni fy nymuniad innau a rhoi ymborth ar gyfer fy mhalas."
10So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.
10 Felly yr oedd Hiram yn rhoi i Solomon gymaint ag a fynnai o gedrwydd a ffynidwydd,
11Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
11 a Solomon yn rhoi i Hiram ugain mil o gorusau o wenith ac ugain corus o olew coeth yn gynhaliaeth i'w balas. Dyna beth yr oedd Solomon yn ei roi i Hiram yn flynyddol.
12Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a treaty together.
12 A rhoes yr ARGLWYDD ddoethineb i Solomon, yn l ei addewid iddo; felly bu heddwch rhwng Hiram a Solomon, a gwnaethant gyfamod 'i gilydd.
13King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
13 Cododd y Brenin Solomon dreth llafur ar holl Israel, sef deng mil ar hugain o ddynion.
14He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
14 Byddai'n eu hanfon i Lebanon fesul deng mil o wu375?r am fis ar y tro; byddent am fis yn Lebanon, a deufis gartref. Adoniram oedd pennaeth y dreth llafur gorfod.
15Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains;
15 Yr oedd gan Solomon ddeng mil a thrigain o wu375?r hefyd yn gludwyr, a phedwar ugain mil yn chwarelwyr yn y mynydd;
16besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work.
16 heblaw y rhain yr oedd ganddo dair mil a thri chant o oruchwylwyr gwaith yn arolygu'r gweithwyr.
17The king commanded, and they cut out great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
17 Ar orchymyn y brenin yr oeddent yn cloddio meini enfawr a drud i wneud sylfaen o feini nadd i'r tu375?.
18Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
18 Yr oedd gwu375?r Gebal ac adeiladwyr Solomon a Hiram yn naddu ac yn paratoi'r coed a'r meini i adeiladu'r tu375?.
