2 Samuel

15

1It happened after this, that Absalom prepared him a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
1 Wedi hyn darparodd Absalom iddo'i hun gerbyd a meirch, a hanner cant o ddynion i redeg o'i flaen.
2Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate. It was so, that when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called to him, and said, “What city are you from?” He said, “Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.”
2 Codai'n fore, a sefyll ar ochr y ffordd at borth y ddinas, a phan fyddai unrhyw un yn dod ag achos at y brenin am ddedfryd, byddai Absalom yn ei alw ato ac yn holi, "O ba dref yr wyt ti?" A byddai hwnnw'n ateb, "O un o lwythau Israel y mae dy was."
3Absalom said to him, “Behold, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputized by the king to hear you.”
3 Yna byddai Absalom yn dweud, "Edrych, y mae dy achos yn un da a chryf, ond ni chei wrandawiad gan y brenin."
4Absalom said moreover, “Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who has any suit or cause might come to me, and I would do him justice!”
4 Ac ychwanegai Absalom, "O na fyddwn i yn cael fy ngosod yn farnwr dros y wlad! Yna byddai pob un chu373?yn neu achos ganddo yn dod ataf fi, a byddwn i yn sicrhau cyfiawnder iddo."
5It was so, that when any man came near to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him.
5 Pan fyddai unrhyw un yn agosu i ymgrymu iddo, byddai ef yn estyn ei law, yn gafael ynddo ac yn ei gusanu.
6Absalom did this sort of thing to all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
6 Fel hyn y byddai Absalom yn ymddwyn tuag at bob Israeliad oedd yn dod at y brenin am ddedfryd, a denodd fryd pobl Israel.
7It happened at the end of forty years, that Absalom said to the king, “Please let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed to Yahweh, in Hebron.
7 Wedi pedair blynedd dywedodd Absalom wrth y brenin, "Gad imi fynd i Hebron a thalu'r adduned a wneuthum i'r ARGLWYDD;
8For your servant vowed a vow while I stayed at Geshur in Syria, saying, ‘If Yahweh shall indeed bring me again to Jerusalem, then I will serve Yahweh.’”
8 oherwydd pan oeddwn yn byw yn Gesur yn Syria, gwnaeth dy was yr adduned hon, 'Os byth y daw'r ARGLWYDD mi yn l i Jerwsalem, fe addolaf yr ARGLWYDD.'"
9The king said to him, “Go in peace.” So he arose, and went to Hebron.
9 Dywedodd y brenin, "Dos mewn heddwch!" Aeth yntau i ffwrdd i Hebron.
10But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say, ‘Absalom is king in Hebron!’”
10 Yr oedd Absalom wedi anfon negeswyr drwy holl lwythau Israel a dweud wrthynt, "Pan glywch sain yr utgorn, cyhoeddwch, 'Y mae Absalom wedi dod yn frenin yn Hebron.'"
11Two hundred men went with Absalom out of Jerusalem, who were invited, and went in their simplicity; and they didn’t know anything.
11 Aeth deucant o wu375?r gydag Absalom o Jerwsalem; yr oeddent wedi eu gwahodd, ac yn mynd yn gwbl ddiniwed, heb wybod dim byd.
12Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. The conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.
12 Anfonodd Absalom hefyd am Ahitoffel y Giloniad, cynghorydd Dafydd, i ddod o'i dref, Gilo, i fod gydag ef wrth offrymu'r ebyrth. Yr oedd y cynllwyn yn cynyddu, a'r bobl oedd o blaid Absalom yn dal i amlhau.
13A messenger came to David, saying, “The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.”
13 Daeth rhywun a dweud wrth Ddafydd fod bryd pobl Israel ar Absalom,
14David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, “Arise, and let us flee; for else none of us shall escape from Absalom. Make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil on us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”
14 a dywedodd Dafydd wrth ei holl weision oedd gydag ef yn Jerwsalem, "Codwch, inni gael ffoi; onid e, ni fydd modd inni ddianc rhag Absalom; brysiwch oddi yma rhag iddo ef ymosod yn sydyn arnom a pheri niwed inni, a tharo'r ddinas 'r cleddyf."
15The king’s servants said to the king, “Behold, your servants are ready to do whatever my lord the king chooses.”
15 Dywedodd gweision y brenin wrtho, "Beth bynnag yw penderfyniad ein harglwydd frenin, y mae dy weision yn barod."
16The king went forth, and all his household after him. The king left ten women, who were concubines, to keep the house.
16 Yna ymadawodd y brenin, a'i deulu i gyd yn ei ganlyn, gan adael deg o'r gordderchwragedd i ofalu am y tu375?.
17The king went forth, and all the people after him; and they stayed in Beth Merhak.
17 Wedi i'r brenin a'r holl fintai oedd yn ei ganlyn fynd allan, safodd ger y tu375? pellaf.
18All his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.
18 A safodd ei weision gerllaw iddo, tra oedd y Cerethiaid a'r Pelethiaid i gyd, a'r holl Gethiaid, sef y chwe chant o wu375?r oedd wedi dod o Gath i'w ganlyn, yn croesi gerbron y brenin.
19Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why do you also go with us? Return, and stay with the king; for you are a foreigner, and also an exile. Return to your own place.
19 Gofynnodd y brenin i Itai y Gethiad, "Pam yr wyt ti'n dod gyda ni? Dos yn l ac aros gyda'r brenin newydd, oherwydd dieithryn wyt ti, ac alltud oddi cartref.
20Whereas you came but yesterday, should I this day make you go up and down with us, since I go where I may? Return, and take back your brothers. Mercy and truth be with you.”
20 Ddoe y daethost ti; a wnaf fi iti grwydro heddiw gyda ni ar daith, a minnau heb wybod i ble'r wyf yn mynd? Dos yn l, a dos 'th gymrodyr gyda thi; a bydded i'r ARGLWYDD ddangos iti drugaredd a ffyddlondeb."
21Ittai answered the king, and said, “As Yahweh lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king shall is, whether for death or for life, even there also will your servant be.”
21 Atebodd Itai a dweud wrth y brenin, "Cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw, a thithau hefyd, f'arglwydd frenin, ple bynnag yr f'arglwydd frenin, i farw neu i fyw, yno'n sicr y bydd dy was hefyd."
22David said to Ittai, “Go and pass over.” Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones who were with him.
22 Yna dywedodd Dafydd wrth Itai, "Dos ymlaen, ynteu." Felly aeth Itai y Gethiad yn ei flaen, a'i holl bobl a'r holl blant oedd gydag ef.
23All the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
23 Yr oedd su373?n wylo mawr trwy'r holl wlad pan oedd y bobl yn croesi. Safodd y brenin wrth nant Cidron nes i'r bobl i gyd fynd drosodd i gyfeiriad yr anialwch.
24Behold, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people finished passing out of the city.
24 Yr oedd Sadoc yno hefyd, a'r holl Lefiaid oedd gydag ef yn cario arch cyfamod Duw. Wedi iddynt osod arch Duw i lawr, bu Abiathar yn offrymu nes i'r bobl i gyd ymadael 'r ddinas.
25The king said to Zadok, “Carry back the ark of God into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of Yahweh, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation;
25 Yna dywedodd y brenin wrth Sadoc, "Dos ag arch Duw yn l i'r ddinas; os caf ffafr yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, fe ddaw mi yn l, a gadael imi ei gweld hi a'i chartref.
26but if he say thus, ‘I have no delight in you;’ behold, here am I. Let him do to me as seems good to him.”
26 Ond os dywed fel hyn, 'Nid oes arnaf d'eisiau,' dyma fi; caiff wneud fel y myn mi."
27The king said also to Zadok the priest, “Aren’t you a seer? Return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz your son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
27 Hefyd dywedodd y brenin wrth Sadoc yr offeiriad, "Edrych, fe elli di ac Abiathar ddychwelyd yn ddiogel i'r ddinas, a'ch dau fab gyda chwi, Ahimaas dy fab di a Jonathan, mab Abiathar.
28Behold, I will stay at the fords of the wilderness, until word comes from you to inform me.”
28 Edrychwch, fe oedaf wrth rydau'r anialwch hyd nes y caf air oddi wrthych i'm hysbysu."
29Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem; and they stayed there.
29 Felly dygodd Sadoc ac Abiathar arch Duw yn l i Jerwsalem, ac aros yno.
30David went up by the ascent of the Mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot: and all the people who were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.
30 Dringodd Dafydd lethr Mynydd yr Olewydd dan wylo a chuddio'i ben a cherdded yn droednoeth. Yr oedd yr holl bobl oedd gydag ef hefyd yn dringo gan guddio'u pennau ac wylo.
31Someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” David said, “Yahweh, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”
31 Dywedwyd wrth Ddafydd fod Ahitoffel ymysg y cynllwynwyr gydag Absalom, a gweddodd Dafydd, "O ARGLWYDD, tro gyngor Ahitoffel yn ffolineb."
32It happened that when David had come to the top, where God was worshiped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat torn, and earth on his head.
32 Pan gyrhaeddodd Dafydd y copa, lle byddid yn addoli Duw, dyma Husai yr Arciad yn dod i'w gyfarfod 'i fantell wedi ei rhwygo a phridd ar ei ben.
33David said to him, “If you pass on with me, then you will be a burden to me;
33 Meddai Dafydd wrtho, "Os doi di gyda mi, byddi'n faich arnaf;
34but if you return to the city, and tell Absalom, ‘I will be your servant, O king. As I have been your father’s servant in time past, so will I now be your servant; then will you defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel.’
34 ond os ei di'n l i'r ddinas a dweud wrth Absalom, 'Dy was di wyf fi, f'arglwydd frenin; gwas dy dad oeddwn gynt, ond dy was di wyf yn awr', yna gelli ddrysu cyngor Ahitoffel drosof.
35Don’t you have Zadok and Abiathar the priests there with you? Therefore it shall be, that whatever thing you shall hear out of the king’s house, you shall tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.
35 Bydd gennyt yr offeiriaid Sadoc ac Abiathar gyda thi yno; yr wyt i ddweud wrthynt hwy bob gair a glywi o du375?'r brenin,
36Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son, and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son; and by them you shall send to me everything that you shall hear.”
36 oherwydd y mae'r ddau fachgen, Ahimaas fab Sadoc a Jonathan fab Abiathar, yno gyda hwy, ac fe gewch anfon ataf trwyddynt hwy bob dim a glywch."
37So Hushai, David’s friend, came into the city; and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
37 Daeth Husai, cyfaill Dafydd, i'r ddinas fel yr oedd Absalom yn cyrraedd Jerwsalem.
