1But it happened after a while, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a young goat; and he said, “I will go in to my wife into the room.” But her father wouldn’t allow him to go in.
1 Ymhen amser, ar adeg y cynhaeaf gwenith, ymwelodd Samson 'i wraig gyda myn gafr, a dweud, "Yr wyf am gael mynd at fy ngwraig i'r siambr." Ond ni chaniataodd ei thad iddo fynd,
2Her father said, “I most certainly thought that you had utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Isn’t her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her, instead.”
2 a dywedodd wrtho, "Yr oeddwn yn meddwl yn sicr ei bod hi'n llwyr atgas gennyt; felly rhoddais hi i'th was priodas. Y mae ei chwaer iau yn dlysach na hi; cymer hi yn ei lle."
3Samson said to them, “This time I will be blameless in regard of the Philistines, when I harm them.”
3 Ond dywedodd Samson wrthynt, "Y tro hwn fe dalaf y pwyth i'r Philistiaid; fe achosaf niwed difrifol iddynt."
4Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and turned tail to tail, and put a torch in the midst between every two tails.
4 Aeth Samson a dal tri chant o lwynogod; ac wedi iddo gael ffaglau, fe'u clymodd hwy gynffon wrth gynffon, a gosod ffagl yn y canol rhwng y ddwy gynffon.
5When he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks and the standing grain, and also the olive groves.
5 Yna wedi iddo gynnau'r ffaglau, gyrrodd hwy drwy gnydau'r Philistiaid, a llosgi'r styciau a'r u375?d oedd heb ei dorri a'r gerddi olewydd.
6Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?” They said, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife, and given her to his companion.” The Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.
6 Pan ofynnodd y Philistiaid pwy oedd wedi gwneud hyn, dywedwyd, "Samson, mab-yng-nghyfraith y dyn o Timna, am fod hwnnw wedi cymryd ei wraig ef a'i rhoi i'w was priodas."
7Samson said to them, “If you behave like this, surely I will be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.”
7 Aeth y Philistiaid a'i llosgi hi a'i thad; a dywedodd Samson, "Os ydych chwi'n ymddwyn fel hyn, nid ymataliaf finnau nes dial arnoch."
8He struck them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and lived in the cleft of the rock of Etam.
8 Trawodd hwy'n bendramwnwgl difrod mawr, cyn mynd ymaith ac aros mewn hafn yng nghraig Etam.
9Then the Philistines went up, and encamped in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.
9 Daeth y Philistiaid i fyny a gwersyllu yn Jwda, ac ymledu trwy Lehi.
10The men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?” They said, “We have come up to bind Samson, to do to him as he has done to us.”
10 Gofynnodd gwu375?r Jwda, "Pam y daethoch yn ein herbyn?" Ac meddent, "Daethom i ddal Samson, a gwneud iddo ef fel y gwnaeth ef i ni."
11Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, “Don’t you know that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you have done to us?” He said to them, “As they did to me, so have I done to them.”
11 Yna aeth tair mil o wu375?r o Jwda i hafn craig Etam a dweud wrth Samson, "Fe wyddost yn iawn mai'r Philistiaid sy'n ein llywodraethu; beth yw hyn a wnaethost inni?" Atebodd yntau, "Gwneuthum iddynt hwy fel y gwnaethant hwy i mi."
12They said to him, “We have come down to bind you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines.” Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not fall on me yourselves.”
12 Yna dywedasant, "Yr ydym ni wedi dod yma i'th rwymo a'th roi yn llaw'r Philistiaid." Dywedodd Samson wrthynt, "Ewch ar eich llw na wnewch chwi niwed imi."
13They spoke to him, saying, “No; but we will bind you fast, and deliver you into their hand; but surely we will not kill you.” They bound him with two new ropes, and brought him up from the rock.
13 Dywedodd y gwu375?r, "Na, dim ond dy rwymo a wnawn, a'th drosglwyddo iddynt hwy; yn sicr, nid ydym am dy ladd." Yna rhwymasant ef dwy raff newydd, a mynd ag ef o'r graig.
14When he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they met him: and the Spirit of Yahweh came mightily on him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands dropped from off his hands.
14 Pan gyrhaeddodd Lehi, a'r Philistiaid yn bloeddio wrth ei gyfarfod, dis-gynnodd ysbryd yr ARGLWYDD arno, aeth y rhaffau oedd am ei freichiau fel llinyn wedi ei ddeifio gan dn, a syrthiodd ei rwymau oddi am ei ddwylo.
15He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put forth his hand, and took it, and struck a thousand men therewith.
15 Cafodd n asyn, a honno heb sychu; gafaelodd ynddi 'i law, a lladd mil o ddynion.
16Samson said, “With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps on heaps; with the jawbone of a donkey I have struck a thousand men.”
16 Ac meddai Samson: " gn asyn rhois iddynt gurfa asyn; gn asyn lleddais fil o ddynion."
17It happened, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand; and that place was called Ramath Lehi.
17 Wedi iddo orffen dweud hyn, taflodd yr n o'i law, a galwyd y lle hwnnw Ramath-lehi.
18He was very thirsty, and called on Yahweh, and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of your servant; and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?”
18 Yr oedd syched mawr arno, a galwodd ar yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "Ti a roddodd y fuddugoliaeth fawr hon i'th was, ond a wyf yn awr i drengi o syched, a syrthio i afael y rhai dienwaededig?"
19But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi, and water came out of it. When he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: therefore its name was called En Hakkore, which is in Lehi, to this day.
19 Holltodd Duw y ceubwll sydd yn Lehi, a ffrydiodd du373?r ohono; wedi iddo yfed, adferwyd ei ysbryd ac adfywiodd. Am hynny enwodd y ffynnon En-haccore; y mae yn Lehi hyd heddiw.
20He judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.
20 Bu Samson yn farnwr ar Israel am ugain mlynedd yng nghyfnod y Philistiaid.
