Judges

16

1Samson went to Gaza, and saw there a prostitute, and went in to her.
1 Pan aeth Samson i Gasa, gwelodd yno butain ac aeth i mewn ati.
2The Gazites were told, “Samson is here!” They surrounded him, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, “Wait until morning light, then we will kill him.”
2 Clywodd pobl Gasa fod Samson yno, a daethant at ei gilydd a disgwyl amdano drwy'r nos wrth borth y dref heb wneud unrhyw symudiad, gan feddwl, "Pan ddaw'n olau ddydd, fe'i lladdwn."
3Samson lay until midnight, and arose at midnight, and laid hold of the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and plucked them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of the mountain that is before Hebron.
3 Gorweddodd Samson hyd hanner nos; yna cododd a gafael yn nwy ddr a dau gilbost porth y dref, a'u codi o'u lle, ynghyd 'r bar. Ac wedi eu gosod ar ei ysgwyddau, fe'u cariodd i gopa'r mynydd gyferbyn Hebron.
4It came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
4 Ar l hyn, syrthiodd mewn cariad dynes yn nyffryn Sorec, o'r enw Delila.
5The lords of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, “Entice him, and see in which his great strength lies, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will each give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”
5 Daeth arglwyddi'r Philistiaid ati a dweud wrthi, "Huda ef, i gael gweld ymhle y mae ei nerth mawr, a pha fodd y gallwn ei drechu a'i rwymo a'i gadw'n gaeth. Yna fe rydd pob un ohonom iti un cant ar ddeg o ddarnau arian."
6Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and what you might be bound to afflict you.”
6 Dywedodd Delila wrth Samson, "Dywed i mi ymhle y mae dy nerth mawr, a sut y gellir dy rwymo i'th gadw'n gaeth?"
7Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven green cords that were never dried, then shall I become weak, and be as another man.”
7 Dywedodd Samson wrthi, "Petaent yn fy rhwymo saith llinyn bwa ir heb sychu, yna mi awn cyn wanned dyn cyffredin."
8Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green cords which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
8 Daeth arglwyddi'r Philistiaid saith llinyn bwa ir heb sychu iddi, a rhwymodd hithau ef hwy.
9Now she had an ambush waiting in the inner room. She said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” He broke the cords, as a string of tow is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not known.
9 Tra oedd gwylwyr cudd yn disgwyl mewn ystafell fewnol, dywedodd hi wrtho, "Y mae'r Philistiaid ar dy warthaf, Samson!" Torrodd yntau y llinynnau, fel y torrir edau garth pan ddaw'n agos at dn. Ni ddatgelwyd cyfrinach ei gryfder.
10Delilah said to Samson, “Behold, you have mocked me, and told me lies: now please tell me with which you might be bound.”
10 Ac meddai Delila wrth Samson, "Dyma ti wedi gwneud ffu373?l ohonof a dweud celwydd wrthyf; yn awr dywed wrthyf yn iawn sut y rhwymir di."
11He said to her, “If they only bind me with new ropes with which no work has been done, then shall I become weak, and be as another man.”
11 Dywedodd yntau, "Pe rhwyment fi rhaffau newydd heb fod erioed ar waith, yna mi awn cyn wanned dyn cyffredin."
12So Delilah took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” The ambush was waiting in the inner room. He broke them off his arms like a thread.
12 Felly cymerodd Delila raffau newydd a'i rwymo hwy, a dweud, "Y mae'r Philistiaid ar dy warthaf, Samson!" A thra oedd y gwylwyr yn parhau yn yr ystafell fewnol, torrodd ef y rhaffau oddi ar ei freichiau fel edau.
13Delilah said to Samson, “Until now, you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me with what you might be bound.” He said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head with the web.”
13 Ac meddai Delila wrth Samson, "Hyd yn hyn yr wyt wedi gwneud ffu373?l ohonof a dweud celwydd wrthyf; dywed wrthyf yn iawn sut y rhwymir di." Dywedodd wrthi, "Pe baet yn gwau saith cudyn fy mhen i'r we, ac yn ei thynhau 'r hoelen, yna mi awn cyn wanned dyn cyffredin."
14She fastened it with the pin, and said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” He awakened out of his sleep, and plucked away the pin of the beam, and the web.
14 Felly suodd Delila ef i gysgu, a gweodd saith cudyn ei ben i mewn i'r we, a'i thynhau 'r hoelen. Yna dywedodd wrtho, "Y mae'r Philistiaid ar dy warthaf, Samson!" Deffrdd yntau o'i gwsg, a thynnodd yn rhydd yr hoelen, y garfan a'r we.
15She said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.”
15 Ac meddai hi wrtho, "Sut y medri di ddweud, 'Rwy'n dy garu', a thithau heb ymddiried ynof? Y tair gwaith hyn yr wyt wedi gwneud ffu373?l ohonof, a heb ddweud wrthyf yn iawn ymhle y mae dy nerth mawr."
16It happened, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was troubled to death.
16 Ac oherwydd ei bod yn ei flino 'i geiriau, ddydd ar l dydd, ac yn dal i'w boeni nes ei fod wedi ymldd,
17He told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come on my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I will become weak, and be like any other man.”
17 fe ddywedodd ei gyfrinach yn llawn wrthi. Dywedodd, "Nid yw ellyn erioed wedi cyffwrdd 'm pen, oherwydd bm yn Nasaread i Dduw o groth fy mam. Petaent yn fy eillio, yna byddai fy nerth yn pallu ac mi awn cyn wanned dyn cyffredin."
18When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and brought the money in their hand.
18 Gwelodd Delila ei fod wedi dweud ei gyfrinach yn llawn wrthi, ac anfonodd am arglwyddi'r Philistiaid a dweud, "Dewch ar unwaith; y mae wedi dweud ei gyfrinach yn llawn wrthyf." Daeth arglwyddi'r Philistiaid ati 'r arian yn eu llaw.
19She made him sleep on her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
19 Suodd hi Samson i gysgu ar ei gliniau, ac yna galwodd am ddyn i eillio saith cudyn ei ben. Dechreuodd ei gystwyo, ac yr oedd ei nerth wedi cilio rhagddo.
20She said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” He awoke out of his sleep, and said, “I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free.” But he didn’t know that Yahweh had departed from him.
20 Dywedodd, "Y mae'r Philistiaid ar dy warthaf, Samson!" Deffrdd ef o'i gwsg gan feddwl, "Af allan fel o'r blaen ac ymryddhau." Ni wyddai fod yr ARGLWYDD wedi cefnu arno.
21The Philistines laid hold on him, and put out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he ground at the mill in the prison.
21 Daliodd y Philistiaid ef, a thynnu ei lygaid, a mynd ag ef i lawr i Gasa a'i rwymo mewn gefynnau; a bu'n malu blawd yn y carchardy.
22However the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.
22 Ond dechreuodd ei wallt dyfu eto ar l ei eillio.
23The lords of the Philistines gathered them together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice; for they said, “Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.”
23 Daeth arglwyddi'r Philistiaid ynghyd mewn llawenydd i offrymu aberth mawr i'w duw Dagon a dweud: "Rhoddodd ein duw yn ein dwylo ein gelyn Samson."
24When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said, “Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand.”
24 A phan welodd y bobl ef, rhoesant foliant i'w duw a dweud: "Rhoddodd ein duw yn ein dwylo ein gelyn ac anrheithiwr ein gwlad, a amlhaodd ein celaneddau."
25It happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may entertain us.” They called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. They set him between the pillars;
25 Pan oeddent yn llawn hwyliau dywedasant, "Galwch Samson i'n difyrru." Galwyd Samson o'r carchardy, a gwnaeth hwyl iddynt; a rhoddwyd ef i sefyll rhwng y colofnau.
26and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, “Allow me to feel the pillars whereupon the house rests, that I may lean on them.”
26 Dywedodd Samson wrth y bachgen oedd yn gafael yn ei law, "Rho fi lle y gallaf deimlo'r colofnau sy'n cynnal y deml, imi gael pwyso arnynt."
27Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were on the roof about three thousand men and women, who saw while Samson performed.
27 Yr oedd y deml yn llawn o ddynion a merched; yr oedd holl arglwyddi'r Philistiaid yno hefyd, a thua thair mil o bobl ar y to yn edrych ar Samson yn eu difyrru.
28Samson called to Yahweh, and said, “Lord Yahweh, remember me, please, and strengthen me, please, only this once, God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.”
28 Yna galwodd Samson ar yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "O Arglwydd DDUW, cofia fi, a nertha fi'r tro hwn yn unig, O Dduw, er mwyn imi gael dial unwaith am byth ar y Philistiaid am fy nau lygad."
29Samson took hold of the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and leaned on them, the one with his right hand, and the other with his left.
29 Ymestynnodd Samson at y ddwy golofn ganol oedd yn cynnal y deml, a phwyso arnynt, ei law dde ar un a'i law chwith ar y llall.
30Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” He bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell on the lords, and on all the people who were therein. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than those who he killed in his life.
30 Yna dywedodd, "Bydded i minnau farw gyda'r Philistiaid!" Gwthiodd yn nerthol, a chwympodd y deml ar yr arglwyddi a'r holl bobl oedd ynddi, ac felly lladdodd Samson fwy wrth farw nag a laddodd yn ystod ei fywyd.
31Then his brothers and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burial site of Manoah his father. He judged Israel twenty years.
31 Aeth ei frodyr a'i holl deulu i lawr i'w gymryd ef a'i gludo oddi yno, a'i gladdu rhwng Sora ac Estaol ym medd ei dad Manoa. Bu'n farnwr ar Israel am ugain mlynedd.
