1Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
1وقتی داود پیر و سالخورده شد، پسر خود، سلیمان را بعنوان پادشاه اسرائیل انتخاب کرد.
2He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
2داود تمام رهبران اسرائیل، کاهنان و لاویان را جمع نمود
3The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
3و بعد امر کرد که لاویان سی ساله و بالا تر را سرشماری کنند. تعداد تمام آن ها سی و هشت هزار نفر بود.
4David said, “Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Yahweh; six thousand were officers and judges;
4داود هدایت داد که از آن جمله بیست و چهار هزار نفر ادارۀ امور عبادتگاه خداوند را بعهده داشته باشند، شش هزار مأمورین و قضات،
5four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made, for giving praise.”
5چهار هزار نفر دروازه بان باشند و چهار هزار نفر دیگر هم با آلات موسیقی سرود سپاس و ستایش خداوند را بنوازند.
6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
6داود لاویان را به سه دسته تحت نام جد شان، یعنی جرشون، قَهات و مَراری، تقسیم کرد.
7Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
7جرشونی ها: اولادۀ لادان و شمعی.
8The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
8اولادۀ لادان: خانوادۀ یحیئیل (سرکرده)، خانوادۀ زیتام و خانوادۀ یوئیل ـ سه خانواده.
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan.
9اولادۀ شِمعی: خانواده های شلومیت، حَزیئیل و هاران ـ سه خانواده. اینها رؤسای اولادۀ لادان بودند.
10The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
10اولادۀ شِمعی: خانواده های یَحَت، زینا، یعوش و بَریعه ـ چهار خانواده.
11Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.
11اولی یَحَت، دومی زینا، سومی یعوش و چهارمی بَریعه بود. چون یعوش و بَریعه اولادۀ زیاد نداشتند، بنابراین، هر دو با هم یک خاندان را تشکیل می دادند.
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
12قُهاتی ها: اولادۀ چهار پسر قَهات ـ عَمرام، یزهار، حِبرون و عُزی ئیل.
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
13اولادۀ عَمرام: خانواده های هارون و موسی. تنها هارون انتخاب شده بود تا او و اولاده اش خدمت مقدس تقدیم قربانی و هدایای بنی اسرائیل به حضور خداوند را پیوسته اجراء کنند، دایم آمادۀ خدمت برای خداوند باشند و بنی اسرائیل را همیشه به نام خداوند برکت دهند.
14But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
14اولادۀ موسی (مرد برگزیدۀ خداوند) در جمله لاویان بشمار می رفتند و آن ها خانواده های جرشوم و اَلِعازار بودند.
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
15خانوادۀ جرشوم: شبوئیل عنوان رهبری را داشت.
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
16خانوادۀ اَلِعازار: رَحَبیا، رئیس قبیله بود. اَلِعازار تنها یک پسر داشت، اما رَحَبیا دارای پسران زیاد بود.
17The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
17خانوادۀ یزهار: شلومیت عنوان رهبری را داشت.
18The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
18اولادۀ حِبرون: اولی یریا، دومی اَمَریا، سومی یحزیئیل و چهارمی یُقمِعام بود.
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
19خانوادۀ عُزی ئیل: اولی میکا و دومی یشیه بود.
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
20مِراری ها: اولادۀ مَحلی و موشی. پسران مَحلی: اَلِعازار و قَیس.
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
21اَلِعازار مُرد و پسری نداشت، اما دارای چند دختر بود و دخترانش با پسران کاکای خود عروسی کردند.
22Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
22پسران موشی: مَحلی، عادَر و یَریموت.
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
23در این سرشماری لاویان، بیست ساله و بالا تر، که اولادۀ لاوی بودند و عنوان رؤسای خانواده را داشتند، برای خدمت در عبادتگاه خداوند تعیین گردیدند.
24These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from twenty years old and upward.
24زیرا داود گفت: «چون خداوند، خدای اسرائیل به قوم برگزیدۀ خود صلح و آرامش عطا کرده است و او برای همیشه در اورشلیم سکونت می کند،
25For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
25بنابران، لاویان دیگر مجبور نیستند که خیمۀ حضور خداوند و لوازم آن را از یک جا به جای دیگری نقل بدهند.»
26Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”
26آخرین کار داود پیش از وفاتش این بود که از لاویان بیست ساله و بالا تر سرشماری کند.
27For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
27وظیفۀ آن ها کمک با پسران هارون در امور عبادتگاه خداوند، مراقبت و نگهداری از حویلی و اطاقهای عبادتگاه، پاک کردن همه اشیا و لوازم مقدسه، خدمت در عبادتگاه،
28For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;
28تهیۀ نان مخصوص بالای میز و آرد برای هدیۀ آردی و نان فطیر، وزن کردن هدایا، ترکیب و پختن نان روغنی و بی روغن بود.
29for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
29آن ها همچنین وظیفه داشتند که هر صبح و شام برای سرود مناجات و سپاس در حضور خداوند حاضر شوند.
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
30در مراسم اجرای قربانی ها ـ در روزهای سَبَت، ماه نو و عیدها ـ با تعداد معینی، مطابق حُکم شریعت، برای خدمت بحضور خداوند حاضر باشند.همچنین از خیمۀ حضور خداوند و عبادتگاه مقدس مراقبت و با کاهنان که پسران هارون و خویشاوندان آن ها بودند، در همه کارهای عبادتگاه کمک کنند.
31and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;
31همچنین از خیمۀ حضور خداوند و عبادتگاه مقدس مراقبت و با کاهنان که پسران هارون و خویشاوندان آن ها بودند، در همه کارهای عبادتگاه کمک کنند.
32and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Yahweh.
