¹David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh God.

¹داود پادشاه به جمعیت گفت: «پسر من، سلیمان که خداوند فقط او را برگزید، هنوز جوان و بی تجربه است و کاری که در پیشرو دارد، یک کار بسیار مهم می باشد، زیرا این بنا عبادتگاه و پرستشگاه خداوند، خدا است نه قصری برای رهایش یک انسان.

²Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

²با تمام قدرت و توان خود کوشیدم تا همه ضروریات عبادتگاه را از قبیل طلا برای ساختن اشیای طلائی، نقره برای ساختن آلات نقره ئی، برنج جهت ساختن لوازم برنجی، آهن برای ساختن سامان آهنی و چوب برای کارهای چوبی و همچنین مقدار زیادی از سنگهای رنگارنگ عقیق، سنگهای زینتی، جواهرات هر رنگ، سنگ مرمر و غیره را تهیه کرده ام.

³In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

³برعلاوه نظر به علاقۀ خاصی که به عبادتگاه خداوند دارم، از دارائی شخصی خود همه نقره و طلا را

⁴even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;

⁴که عبارت است از صد تُن طلای اوفیر و دوصد و چهل تُن نقرۀ صاف برای ورق شانی دیوارهای عبادتگاه، برای خداوند اهداء می کنم.

⁵of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Yahweh?”

⁵صنعتگران ماهر از این طلا و نقره برای ساختن اشیای نقره ای و طلائی کار می گیرند. حالا چه کسی دیگر حاضر است که هدیۀ سخاوتمندانه ای برای خداوند بدهد؟»

⁶Then the princes of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;

⁶آنگاه رؤسای خانواده ها، رهبران قبیله، فرماندهان نظامی و ناظران دارایی پادشاه داوطلبانه و با میل دل یکصد و هفتاد تُن طلا، سیصد و چهل تُن نقره، ششصد و ده تُن برنج، سه هزار و چهارصد تُن آهن برای مصارف ساختمان عبادتگاه هدیه دادند.

⁷and they gave for the service of God’s house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

⁷همچنین هر کسیکه جواهرات داشت به خزانۀ عبادتگاه آورد و به یحیئیلِ جرشونی تسلیم کرد.

⁸They with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Yahweh, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

⁸و همه مردم بخاطر اینکه توانستند خدمتی برای خداوند بکنند بسیار خوشحال بودند و داود هم از این بابت بی اندازه خوش بود.

⁹Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Yahweh: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

⁹داود در حضور تمام مردم خداوند را ستایش نموده و بدرگاه او این چنین دعا کرد: «ای خداوند، تو را سپاس می گویم. ای خدای جد ما اسرائیل، از ازل تا به ابد

¹⁰Therefore David blessed Yahweh before all the assembly; and David said, “You are blessed, Yahweh, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

¹⁰عظمت، قدرت، جلال و شکوه از تو است. همه چیزهائی که در آسمان ها و زمین اند، به تو تعلق دارند. پادشاهی از آن تو است. ای خداوند، تو بالا تر و برتر از همه سران کائنات هستی.

¹¹Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.

¹¹دولت و جلال از جانب تو می آید، و تو فرمانروای جهان هستی. اختیار و قدرت در دست تو است و تو به همه جلال و نیرو می بخشی.

¹²Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.

¹²حالا ای خداوند، ما بدربار تو عرض شکرانگی تقدیم می کنیم و بنام پُر افتخارت سپاس می گوییم.

¹³Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.

¹³لیکن من کیستم و قوم من کیستند که شایستگی آوردن هدایا برای تو را داشته باشیم؟ ما این ادعا را نداریم که چیزی به تو می دهیم، زیرا هر چیزی که داریم از تو داریم، و از مال تو به تو تقدیم کرده ایم.

¹⁴But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.

¹⁴ما در این جهان مثل پدران خود بیگانه و زودگذر هستیم و ایام زندگی ما بر زمین همچون سایه ای است که دوام و ثبات ندارد.

¹⁵For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.

¹⁵ای خداوند، خدای ما! همۀ این مواد و مصالح فراوان را که برای ساختمان عبادتگاه مقدس تو مهیا کرده ایم، همه به تو متعلق اند.

¹⁶Yahweh our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.

¹⁶ای خدای من، من می دانم که تو مردم را می آزمائی تا صداقت و راستی آن ها را معلوم کنی، زیرا تو مردمان نیک را دوست می داری و من از صمیم دل و با نیت پاک همۀ این چیزها را به تو هدیه می کنم، و دیدم که قوم برگزیدۀ تو هم با میل دل و خوشی کامل هدیه های خود را بحضورت تقدیم کردند.

¹⁷I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you.

¹⁷ای خداوند، خدای اجداد ما ابراهیم، اسحاق و اسرائیل، این اشتیاق را همیشه در دلهای قوم برگزیده ات قوی نگهدار و به آن ها کمک فرما تا به تو همواره وفادار بمانند.

¹⁸Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;

¹⁸به پسرم، سلیمان مدد کن که از جان و دل بکوشد تا اوامر، احکام و فرایض ترا بجا آورد و این عبادتگاه را که من همه چیزش را فراهم کرده ام با همه جُزئیاتش تکمیل کند.»

¹⁹and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”

¹⁹بعد داود به حاضرین گفت: «خداوند، خدای تان را ستایش کنید.» و همۀ مردم خداوند، خدای خود را سپاس گفتند، رو بخاک افتادند و او را سجده کردند و به پادشاه تعظیم نمودند.

²⁰David said to all the assembly, “Now bless Yahweh your God!” All the assembly blessed Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before Yahweh and the king.

²⁰روز دیگر مردم اسرائیل یکهزار گاو، یکهزار قوچ و یکهزار بره برای قربانی سوختنی و همچنین هدایای نوشیدنی بحضور خداوند تقدیم نمودند. علاوه بر اینها، قربانی های دیگری نیز به خداوند تقدیم نموده گوشت آن ها را بین تمام قوم اسرائیل تقسیم کردند.

²¹They sacrificed sacrifices to Yahweh, and offered burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,

²¹بعد همگی با خوشی فراوان در حضور خداوند خوردند و نوشیدند. آنگاه مردم سلیمان، پسر داود را برای بار دوم بعنوان پادشاه خود اعلام کردند و او را بحیث پادشاه و صادوق را بعنوان کاهن مسح نمودند.

²²and ate and drink before Yahweh on that day with great gladness. They made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Yahweh to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

²²به این ترتیب، سلیمان بر تخت سلطنت خداوند بجای پدر خود، داود نشست. خداوند او را برکت داد و همه مردم اسرائیل فرمانبردار او شدند.

²³Then Solomon sat on the throne of Yahweh as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

²³تمام رهبران قوم، جنگاوران و شهزادگان به سلیمان قول وفاداری دادند.

²⁴All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of king David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

²⁴خداوند سلیمان را در نظر مردم بزرگ و محترم ساخت و به سلطنت او چنان جلال و عظمت بخشید که هیچ پادشاهی پیش از او در اسرائیل ندیده بود.

²⁵Yahweh magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

²⁵داود، پسر یِسی مدت چهل سال بر تمام سر زمین اسرائیل سلطنت کرد، یعنی هفت سال در حِبرون و سی و سه سال در اورشلیم پادشاه بود.

²⁶Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

²⁶سپس در سن پیری، بعد از یک حیات سرشار از عزت، ثروت و حشمت چشم از جهان پوشید و سلیمان جانشین او شد.کارروائی های داود با وقایع دوران سلطنت او و ممالک اطرافش، از آغاز تا انجام در کتاب تاریخ سموئیل نبی، کتاب تاریخ ناتان نبی و کتاب تاریخ جاد نبی نوشته شده اند.

²⁷The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

²⁷کارروائی های داود با وقایع دوران سلطنت او و ممالک اطرافش، از آغاز تا انجام در کتاب تاریخ سموئیل نبی، کتاب تاریخ ناتان نبی و کتاب تاریخ جاد نبی نوشته شده اند.

²⁸He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his place.

²⁹Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

³⁰with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
