1Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. his God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
1سلیمان، پسر داود، پادشاه مقتدری شد. خداوند، خدای او همراهش بود و به او عظمت و قدرت بخشید.
2Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ households.
2او تمام فرماندهان نظامی گروه های صد نفری و هزار نفری، قضات، رهبران قوم و رؤسای خانواده ها را فراخوانده همگی بر تپه ای که در جِبعون واقع بود رفتند، زیرا خیمۀ حضور خداوند که موسی، خدمتگار خداوند، آنرا در بیابان ساخته بود، در آنجا قرار داشت.
3So Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the Tent of Meeting of God, which Moses the servant of Yahweh had made in the wilderness.
3(یک خیمۀ دیگر هم در اورشلیم بود که داود پادشاه آنرا ساخت و وقتیکه صندوق پیمان خداوند را از قریت یعاریم آورد در آن خیمه قرار داد.)
4But David had brought the ark of God up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
4برعلاوه، قربانگاه برنجی هم که بزل ئیل، پسر اوری، نواسۀ حور ساخته بود در همانجا در پیشروی خیمۀ حضور خداوند قرار داشت.
5Moreover the bronze altar, that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of Yahweh: and Solomon and the assembly were seeking counsel there.
5آنگاه سلیمان بحضور خداوند در پیشروی آن خیمه رفت و در آنجا با مردم دیگر خداوند را عبادت نمود و یکهزار قربانی سوختنی بر آن قربانگاه برنجی تقدیم کرد.
6Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before Yahweh, which was at the Tent of Meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.
6در همان شب خداوند آمد و به سلیمان فرمود: «چه می خواهی که برایت بدهم؟»
7In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”
7سلیمان جواب داد: «تو همیشه با پدرم، داود مهربان بودی و حالا مرا بجای او به پادشاهی برگزیدی.
8Solomon said to God, “You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.
8ای خداوند، خدای من، به وعده ای که داده ای وفا کن، زیرا مرا بر مردمی که مثل ریگ بیابان بیشمار اند، پادشاه ساختی.
9Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
9پس حالا به من حکمت و معرفت عطا فرما تا بتوانم راهنمای مناسبی برای آن ها باشم، در غیر آن چگونه ممکن است که مردمی را به بزرگی قوم برگزیدۀ تو اداره کنم.»
10Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this your people, that is so great?”
10خداوند در جواب او فرمود: «چون آرزوی قلبی ات همین است و از من دارائی، ثروت، حشمت و یا مرگ دشمنانت را نخواستی و حتی عمر طولانی را برای خود طلب نکردی و در عوض حکمت و معرفت خواستی تا بر مردمی که من ترا پادشاه شان ساختم بدرستی حکومت کنی،
11God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of those who hate you, neither yet have asked long life; but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king:
11بنابران، حکمت و معرفت به تو می بخشم. برعلاوه، به تو آن قدر ثروت، حشمت و عزت می دهم که هیچ پادشاهی، نه پیش از تو دیده و نه بعد از تو داشته باشد.»
12wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. I will give you riches, wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you; neither shall there any after you have the like.”
12بعد سلیمان از خیمۀ بالای تپه پائین آمد، جِبعون را ترک کرد و به اورشلیم رفت و در آنجا بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشست.
13So Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.
13پس از مدتی یک سپاهی که متشکل از یکهزار و چهار صد عرادۀ جنگی و دوازده هزار سوار بود جمع کرد. یک عده را برای خود در اورشلیم نگهداشت و بقیه را در شهرهائی که برای عراده جات تعیین کرده بود، گماشت.
14Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
14در دوران سلطنت سلیمان نقره و طلا اهمیت سنگ را داشت و چوب سرو مثل چوب عادی فراوان بود.
15The king made silver and gold to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
15سلیمان تعداد زیاد اسپها را از مصر و سیسلی وارد می کرد. تاجران شاه آن ها را بصورت عمده و قیمت معین می خریدند.هر عراده را به قیمت ششصد مثقال نقره و یک اسپ را به قیمت یکصد و پنجاه مثقال نقره از مصر خریداری می کردند و بعضی از آن ها را به پادشاهان حِتیان و ارامیان دوباره می فروختند.
16The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt and from Kue; the king’s merchants purchased them from Kue.
16هر عراده را به قیمت ششصد مثقال نقره و یک اسپ را به قیمت یکصد و پنجاه مثقال نقره از مصر خریداری می کردند و بعضی از آن ها را به پادشاهان حِتیان و ارامیان دوباره می فروختند.
17They brought up and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
