¹Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

¹از طرف پولُس که به ارادۀ خدا دعوت شد تا رسول مسیح عیسی باشد و از طرف برادر ما سوستینیس

²to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

²به کلیسای خدا که در شهر قرنتس است، یعنی به همۀ آنانی که در پیوستگی با مسیح عیسی تقدیس شده و فراخوانده شده اند تا قوم مقدس خدا باشند و به همۀ کسانی که در همه جا نام عیسی مسیح را که خداوند آنها و خداوند ماست به زبان می آورند.

³Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³از طرف پدر ما خدا و عیسی مسیح خداوند فیض و سلامتی به شما باد.

⁴I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;

⁴همیشه خدا را به خاطر آن فیضی که او در مسیح عیسی به شما عطا فرموده است شکر می کنیم،

⁵that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;

⁵زیرا در پیوستگی با مسیح از هر لحاظ از جمله در کمال سخنوری و معلومات غنی شده اید.

⁶even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

⁶شهادت ما دربارۀ مسیح در بین شما به نتیجه رسیده است.

⁷so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁷و شما در حالی که انتظار ظهور خداوند ما عیسی مسیح را می کشید، از هیچیک از عطایای روح القدس بی نصیب نیستید.

⁸who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸او شما را تا به آخر استوار خواهد داشت تا در روز خداوند ما عیسی مسیح بدون عیب و نقص حاضر شوید.

⁹God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

⁹خدا شما را دعوت کرده است تا در زندگی پسر او، خداوند ما عیسی مسیح شریک و سهیم شوید و او همیشه به قول خود وفادار است.

¹⁰Now I beg you, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹⁰ای برادران، به نام خداوند ما عیسی مسیح از شما درخواست می کنم که همۀ شما در آنچه که می گوئید توافق داشته باشید و دیگر بین شما اختلاف و نفاقی نباشد بلکه با یک فکر و یک هدف کاملاً متحد باشید.

¹¹For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.

¹¹زیرا ای برادران من، اعضای خانوادۀ «خلویس» به من خبر داده اند که در میان شما نزاع هایی وجود دارد.

¹²Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”

¹²منظورم این است که یکی می گوید: «من طرفدار پولُس هستم» و دیگری می گوید: «من طرفدار اَپُلُس هستم.» آن یکی خود را پیرو پِترُس می داند و دیگری خود را پیرو مسیح!

¹³Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

¹³آیا مسیح به دسته ها تقسیم شده است؟ آیا پولُس برای شما مصلوب گردید؟ آیا به نام پولُس تعمید گرفتید؟

¹⁴I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

¹⁴خدا را شکر که هیچ یک از شما را جز کرِسپُس و غایوس تعمید ندادم.

¹⁵so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.

¹⁵بنابراین هیچ کس نمی تواند ادعا کند که من او را به نام خود تعمید داده ام.

¹⁶(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)

¹⁶بلی من همچنین خانوادۀ استیفان را نیز تعمید دادم، ولی جز ایشان دیگر کسی را به خاطر ندارم که تعمید داده باشم.

¹⁷For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.

¹⁷به هر حال مسیح مرا نفرستاد که تعمید دهم، بلکه تا بشارت دهم و او نمی خواست که من با فصاحت کلام سخن بگویم، مبادا قدرت صلیب او بی اثر شود.

¹⁸For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.

¹⁸پیام صلیب برای آنانی که در راه هلاکت هستند، پوچ و بی معنی است ولی برای ما که در راه نجات هستیم، قدرت خداست.

¹⁹For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Isaiah 29:14

¹⁹چنانکه نوشته شده است:«حکمت حکیمان را باطل و فهم دانشوران را زایل خواهم کرد.»

²⁰Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

²⁰پس کجاست حکیم؟ کجاست دانشور؟ و یا کجاست بحث کنندۀ این جهان؟ خدا نشان داده است، که حکمت این جهان پوچ و بی معنی است.

²¹For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.

²¹خدا در حکمت خویش چنین مقرر فرمود که دنیا نتواند با حکمت خود او را بشناسند بلکه صلاح دانست که به وسیلۀ همین پیام پوچ و بی معنی ما، ایمانداران را نجات بخشد.

²²For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,

²²یهودیان خواستار معجزات هستند و یونانیان دانش و حکمت را دنبال می کنند،

²³but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,

²³اما ما مسیح مصلوب شده را اعلام می کنیم، اگر چه این موضوع برای یهودیان سبب لغزش و رنجش و برای دیگران پوچ و بی معنی است،

²⁴but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

²⁴اما برای کسانی که خدا آن ها را دعوت کرده است خواه یهود، خواه یونانی، مسیح قدرت خدا و حکمت اوست،

²⁵Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

²⁵زیرا آنچه در مورد خدا جهالت شمرده می شود از حکمت آدمیان حکیمانه تر و ضعف خدا از قدرت انسان قویتر است.

²⁶For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

²⁶ای برادران، به خاطر داشته باشید، در آن هنگام که خدا شما را دعوت کرد چه نوع اشخاصی بودید. از روی معیارهای این دنیا اکثر شما افرادی حکیم، با نفوذ، و یا نجیب زاده نبودید.

²⁷but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;

²⁷بلکه خدا عمداً آنچه را که دنیا پوچ و بی معنی می شمارد، برگزید تا حکیمان را خجل سازد و آنچه را که دنیا ضعیف می شمارد انتخاب کرد تا نیرومندان را شرمنده سازد.

²⁸and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:

²⁸و خدا آنچه را که دنیا خوار و خفیف و حتی نیستی می شمارد برگزید تا دنیای هستی ها را براندازد،

²⁹that no flesh should boast before God.

²⁹تا هیچ انسانی در حضور او دلیلی برای فخر کردن نداشته باشد.

³⁰But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

³⁰از طرف خداست که شما با مسیح پیوستگی دارید و او مسیح را برای ما حکمت، عدالت، قدوسیت و خونبهای آزادی گردانیده است.بنابراین چنان که نوشته شده است: «هرکه بخواهد فخر کند، به خداوند فخر نماید.»

³¹that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:24

³¹بنابراین چنان که نوشته شده است: «هرکه بخواهد فخر کند، به خداوند فخر نماید.»
