¹When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

¹ای برادران، وقتی من برای اعلام اسرار خدا به نزد شما آمدم، با فصاحت و حکمت انسانی نیامدم،

²For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

²زیرا من تصمیم گرفته بودم تا زمانی که در میان شما هستم، همه چیز جز عیسی مسیح و آن هم مصلوب شده را فراموش کنم.

³I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

³من با ضعف و با ترس و لرز به میان شما آمدم

⁴My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

⁴و سخن و پیام خود را با دلایل مجذوب کنندۀ فلسفی بیان نکردم، بلکه آن را با روح القدس و قدرت او به ثبوت رسانیدم

⁵that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

⁵تا ایمان شما بر قدرت خدا متکی باشد، نه بر فلسفۀ انسانی.

⁶We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing.

⁶البته فلسفه و حکمتی هست که آنرا در میان اشخاصی که در روح بالغ هستند بیان می کنیم، اما آن حکمتی نیست که متعلق به این دنیا و یا حکمرانان این دنیا باشد ـ حکمرانانی که به سوی نابودی پیش می روند ـ

⁷But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,

⁷بلکه حکمت پنهان خدا را که از چشم آدمیان پوشیده بود و خدا آنرا از ازل برای جلال ما قرار داده بود، ابراز می کنیم.

⁸which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.

⁸هیچ یک از حکمرانان این دنیا این را نفهمیدند، زیرا اگر می فهمیدند، خداوند جلال را مصلوب نمی کردند.

⁹But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.” Isaiah 64:4

⁹اما چنانکه نوشته شده است:«آنچه را که هرگز چشمی ندیده و گوشی نشنیده و در دل انسان نگذشته است، خدا برای دوستداران خود تیار کرده است.»

¹⁰But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

¹⁰خدا این همه را به وسیلۀ روح خود از راه الهام به ما آشکار ساخته است؛ زیرا روح القدس همه چیز حتی اعماق نیات خدا را کشف می کند.

¹¹For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God, except God’s Spirit.

¹¹کیست که بهتر از روح شخص با باطن او آشنا باشد؟ به همان طریق، هیچ کس جز روح خدا با خدا آشنا نیست.

¹²But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

¹²روحی را که ما به دست آورده ایم متعلق به این دنیا نیست، بلکه از جانب خداست تا عطایائی را که او به ما عنایت فرموده است، بشناسیم.

¹³Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

¹³ما دربارۀ این حقایق با عباراتی که از حکمت انسان سرچشمه می گیرد سخن نمی گوئیم، بلکه با آنچه که روح القدس به ما می آموزد، و به این وسیله تعالیم روحانی را برای اشخاص روحانی بیان می نمائیم.

¹⁴Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹⁴کسی که روحانی نیست، نمی تواند تعالیم روح خدا را بپذیرد، زیرا به عقیدۀ او این تعالیم پوچ و بی معنی هستند و در واقع، چون تشخیص این گونه تعالیم محتاج به بینش روحانی است، آن ها نمی توانند آن را درک کنند.

¹⁵But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.

¹⁵ولی شخص روحانی قادر است دربارۀ همه چیز قضاوت کند ولی هیچ کس نمی تواند دربارۀ او درست قضاوت نماید.زیرا:«کیست که از فکر خدا آگاه باشد؟ و چه کسی می تواند چیزی به او بیاموزد؟» ولی ما فکر مسیح را داریم.

¹⁶“For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?” Isaiah 40:13 But we have Christ’s mind.

¹⁶زیرا:«کیست که از فکر خدا آگاه باشد؟ و چه کسی می تواند چیزی به او بیاموزد؟» ولی ما فکر مسیح را داریم.
