1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to prove him with hard questions.
1چون ملکۀ سبا شنید که خداوند به سلیمان حکمت فوق العاده ای بخشیده است، بنابران خواست که پیش او برود و با سوالهای مشکل او را امتحان کند.
2She came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.
2پس با موکب و کاروان بزرگ شترهای حامل عطریات، طلا و سنگهای قیمتی به اورشلیم رسید و بدربار سلیمان رفت و مقصد آمدن خود را به او بیان کرد.
3Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her.
3سلیمان به همه سوالات او جواب داد و هیچیک سوال او را بی جواب نگذاشت.
4When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4ملکۀ سبا از دانش و حکمت سلیمان متیقن شد. خانه اش را که آباد کرده بود، مشاهده نمود.
5and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.
5از دیدن غذای عالی بر سر میز، از مأمورین و کارگران دربار، از ساقیانی که با لباس فاخر مصروف خدمت بودند و از قربانی هائی که بحضور خداوند تقدیم شدند غرق حیرت گردید.
6She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.
6ملکه به پادشاه گفت: «آوازۀ حکمت و کارهای فوق العاده ای را که انجام داده ای در وطنم شنیده بودم و همگی حقیقت دارند،
7However I didn’t believe the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it. Behold, the half was not told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
7اما باز هم تا که نیامدم و ندیدم باور نمی کردم. حالا می بینم که نیم آنچه را که تو کرده ای به من نگفتند. حکمت و ثروت تو زیادتر از آن است که من شنیده بودم.
8Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.
8خوشا بحال مردان و کسانیکه خدمت ترا می کنند و همیشه در حضور تو هستند و از حکمت تو برخوردار می شوند!
9Blessed is Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do justice and righteousness.”
9خداوند، خدای ترا سپاس می گویم که از تو خوشنود و راضی است، زیرا که ترا بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشاند! و بخاطر محبت بی پایان خود به مردم اسرائیل ترا پادشاه شان ساخت تا بر آن ها با عدل و انصاف حکمرانی کنی.»
10She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
10بعد ملکه در حدود چهار تُن طلا و مقدار زیاد عطریات و سنگهای قیمتی به پادشاه داد. مقدار عطریاتی که ملکۀ سبا به سلیمان داد به اندازه ای بود که او هرگز دریافت نکرده بود.
11The navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.
11کشتی های حیرام برعلاوۀ طلا، مقدار زیاد چوب صندل و جواهرات از اوفیر آوردند.
12The king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.
12پادشاه برای ستونهای عبادتگاه خداوند، قصر شاهی و ساختن چنگ و سنتور نوازندگان از همان چوب صندل استفاده کرد. به آن اندازه چوب صندل تا آنروز در آنجا دیده نشده بود.
13King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
13و سلیمان پادشاه هم به نوبۀ خود، برعلاوۀ تحفۀ شاهانه ای که قبلاً برای ملکۀ سبا تهیه کرده بود، چیزهائی را هم که او می خواست، برایش داد. بعد ملکه با کاروان و خدمتگاران به کشور خود برگشت.
14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
14وزن طلائیکه سلیمان در ظرف یکسال دریافت کرد در حدود بیست و سه تُن بود.
15besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.
15این مقدار غیر از مقدارِ طلائی بود که از تاجران، مالیات گمرکی، پادشاهان عَرَب و والیان مملکت به دست آورد.
16King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.
16سلیمان پادشاه دو صد سپر بزرگ ساخت و برای ساختن هر کدام آن ها سه و نیم کیلو طلا را به کار برد.
17he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17همچنین سه صد سپر کوچک از طلا ساخت که وزن هر کدام یک کیلو و هفتصد گرام بود و آن ها را در قصر شاهی، در سالون جنگل لبنان قرار داد.
18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.
18تختی بزرگ از عاج ساخت و آنرا با طلای خالص ورق شانی کرد.
19There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.
19آن تخت شش پله داشت. سر تخت از پشت سر گِرد بود و در هر دو طرف آن چوکی های بازودار و در پهلوی هر کدام آن ها یک مجسمۀ شیر قرار داشت.
20Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.
20و دوازده مجسمۀ دیگر شیر در شش پله ایستاده بودند. مثل آن تخت در هیچ سلطنتی دیده نمی شد.
21All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
21ظروف آبخوری پادشاه و همه ظروف سالون جنگل لبنان از طلای خالص ساخته شده بودند، زیرا نقره در دوران سلیمان ارزشی نداشت.
22For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22سلیمان کشتی های اوقیانوس پیما را با شرکت کشتی های حیرام در دسترس خود داشت و هر سه سال یک مرتبه بر می گشتند و طلا، نقره، عاج، میمون و طاؤس می آوردند.
23So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
23به این ترتیب سلیمان پادشاه از نگاه ثروت و حکمت از همه پادشاهان روی زمین برتر و بهتر بود.
24All the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24و تمام مردم جهان آرزو داشتند که بحضور سلیمان آمده حکمت خداداد او را بشنوند.
25They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
25سال بسال هر کدام تحفه، اشیای نقره ای و طلائی، البسه، اسلحه، عطریات، اسپ و قاطر می آورد.
26Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
26سلیمان یک قوای که متشکل از هزار و چهار صد عراده و دوازده هزار سوار بود جمع کرد که یک عدۀ آن در اورشلیم بود و بقیه در شهرهای مختلف قرار داشت.
27The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
27سلیمان نقره را در اورشلیم مثل سنگچل و چوب سرو را مانند چنارهای عادی بیابان فراوان ساخت.
28The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.
28اسپهای خاص سلیمان را نمایندگانش از مصر و ترکیه به قیمت معین وارد می کردند.عراده ها را هم از مصر به قیمت ششصد مثقال نقره فی عراده و هر اسپ را به قیمت یکصد و پنجاه مثقال نقره می خریدند. بسیاری از این اجناس را نمایندگان شاه دوباره به پادشاهان حِتیان و سوریه می فروختند.
29A chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
29عراده ها را هم از مصر به قیمت ششصد مثقال نقره فی عراده و هر اسپ را به قیمت یکصد و پنجاه مثقال نقره می خریدند. بسیاری از این اجناس را نمایندگان شاه دوباره به پادشاهان حِتیان و سوریه می فروختند.
