1Now king Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites;
1سلیمان پادشاه، بغیر از دختر فرعون، به زنان بسیاری از اقوام بیگانه دل بست. آن ها از موآبیان، عمونیان، ادومیان، سِیدونی ها و حِتیان بودند.
2of the nations concerning which Yahweh said to the children of Israel, “You shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon joined to these in love.
2آن ها از کشورهائی آمدند که خداوند به مردم اسرائیل گفته بود: «شما نباید با آن ها زناشوئی کنید، مبادا زنانیکه با آن ها عروسی می کنید شما را تشویق و مایل به پرستش خدایان خود نمایند.» اما با اینهم سلیمان دل به عشق آن ها داد.
3He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.
3او هفتصد زن که همه دختران اشراف زاده بودند و همچنین سه صد کنیز داشت و این زنها باعث شدند که او از راه راست منحرف شود.
4For it happened, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as was the heart of David his father.
4زیرا در دوران پیری اش آن ها او را به پیروی از خدایان بیگانه تشویق کردند. بنابراین سلیمان بجای اینکه مانند پدرش داود با تمام دل و جان خود از خداوند، خدای خود پیروی کند، به پرستش بتها روی آورد.
5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
5پس سلیمان پیرو عَشتاروت، الهۀ سِیدونی ها و مولِک خدای منفور عمونیان شد.
6Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and didn’t go fully after Yahweh, as did David his father.
6به این ترتیب سلیمان دست به کارهائی زد که در نظر خداوند زشت و ناپسند بود. او مثل پدر خود از خداوند پیروی کامل نکرد.
7Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the mountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.
7بعد سلیمان برای کموش، خدای منفور موآب، معبدی بسر کوه ساخت. همچنین برای مولِک، خدای منفور عمونیان معبدی بسر کوهی در شرق اورشلیم آباد کرد.
8So he did for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
8و برای هر یک زنهای خود هم یک معبد ساخت تا هر کدام شان برای خدای خود بخور بسوزانند و قربانی تقدیم نمایند.
9Yahweh was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Yahweh, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
9آنگاه خداوند بر سلیمان قهر شد، زیرا او خداوند، خدای اسرائیل را ترک کرد، خدائیکه دو بار بر او ظاهر شد
10and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he didn’t keep that which Yahweh commanded.
10و به او فرمود که نباید دنبال خدایان دیگر برود، اما سلیمان از فرمان خداوند اطاعت نکرد،
11Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon, “Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
11بنابران خداوند به سلیمان فرمود: «چون تو قصداً پیمانت را با من شکستی و احکام و فرایض مرا بجا نیاوردی، بنابران سلطنت را از تو می گیرم و آنرا به یکی از زیر دستانت می دهم.
12Notwithstanding I will not do it in your days, for David your father’s sake; but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
12اما بخاطر پدرت، داود این کار را در دوران حیات تو نمی کنم، بلکه در زمان سلطنت پسرت این کار را عملی می سازم.
13However I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.”
13ولی با اینهم تمام سلطنت را از او نمی گیرم و بخاطر بنده ام، داود و بخاطر شهر برگزیده ام، اورشلیم پادشاهی یک قبیله را برای او می گذارم.»
14Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom.
14خداوند هَدَد را که از خاندان سلطنتی ادوم بود، دشمن سلیمان ساخت.
15For it happened, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army was gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom
15سالها پیش وقتی داود در ادوم بود، یوآب، قوماندان سپاه او رفت تا کشته شدگان را دفن کند، و او و سپاه او مدت شش ماه در آنجا ماندند. در دوران اقامت خود آن ها همه مردان ادوم را بقتل رساندند.
16(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom);
16اما هَدَد که طفل کوچکی بود با چند نفر از خادمان پدر خود به مصر فرار کرد.
17that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little child.
17آن ها از مدیان حرکت کرده به فاران رفتند و چند نفر از مردان فاران را با خود گرفته به مصر پیش فرعون، پادشاه مصر آمدند. فرعون به او خانه و زمین داد و معاش و غذا هم برایش مقرر کرد.
18They arose out of Midian, and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.
18هدد و فرعون با هم دوست شدند و فرعون خواهر زن خود، یعنی خواهر ملکه تَحفَنحیس را به او داد.
19Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
19خواهر تَحفَنحیس پسری بنام جِنوبَت برای او بدنیا آورد و آن طفل در قصر فرعون با پسران او پرورش یافت.
20The sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s house among the sons of Pharaoh.
20وقتی هدد در مصر شنید که داود از دنیا رفت و یوآب، قوماندان سپاه اسرائیل هم فوت کرده است، به فرعون گفت: «اجازه بده که به وطن خود برگردم.»
21When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.”
21فرعون از او پرسید: «آیا در اینجا پیش من چه چیزی کم داری که می خواهی به وطنت برگردی؟» هَدَد جواب داد: «همه چیز دارم، اما باز هم می خواهم که بروم.»
22Then Pharaoh said to him, “But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you seek to go to your own country?” He answered, “Nothing, however only let me depart.”
22خدا شخص دیگری را هم دشمن سلیمان ساخت. نام او رِزون، پسر اَلیداع بود. او از پیش آقای خود، هَدَد عَزَر، پادشاه صوبه فرار کرد
23God raised up an adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.
23و سرکردۀ دستۀ شورشیان شد. وقتی داود قوای صوبه را از بین برد، رِزون با افراد خود به دمشق برای سکونت رفت و بعد پادشاه شد.
24He gathered men to him, and became captain over a troop, when David killed them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and lived therein, and reigned in Damascus.
24او در سراسر دوران عمر سلیمان دشمن اسرائیل بود و مثل هَدَد تا که در ارام پادشاه بود به مردم اسرائیل اذیت می رساند و از آن ها نفرت داشت.
25He was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief of Hadad: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
25چندی بعد یَرُبعام، پسر نباط افرایمی دست بشورش زد. او یکی از مأمورین سلیمان و مادرش زن بیوه ای بنام صروعه بود.
26Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king.
26دلیل شورش او در مقابل شاه این بود:
سلیمان پادشاه دیواره هائی آباد و حصارهای شهر پدر خود، داود را ترمیم می کرد.
27This was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of the city of David his father.
27یَرُبعام یک شخص آزموده و ماهر بود. وقتیکه سلیمان خبر شد که او یک جوان لایق و کاردان است، او را سرکرده و ناظر قوای کار دو قبیلۀ منسی و افرایم گماشت.
28The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he put him in charge of all the labor of the house of Joseph.
28یکروز وقتیکه یَرُبعام از اورشلیم به سفر می رفت در سر راه خود با اخیای نبی شیلونی برخورد. اخیا لباس نَو پوشیده بود و آن دو نفر در صحرا تنها بودند.
29It happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field.
29اخیا لباس نو خود را که به تن داشت کشید و آنرا دوازده تکه کرد.
30Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.
30بعد به یَرُبعام گفت: «ده تکۀ اینها را برای خود بگیر، زیرا خداوند، خدای اسرائیل چنین می فرماید: «من به زودی سلطنت سلیمان را تکه تکه می کنم و به تو ده قبیله را می دهم!
31He said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces; for thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you
31اما بخاطر بنده ام، داود و بخاطر اورشلیم که من آنرا از بین تمام شهرهای قبایل اسرائیل برگزیدۀ ام به سلیمان یک قبیله را می دهم،
32(but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);
32زیرا او مرا ترک کرد، عَشتاروت الهۀ سِیدونی ها، کموش خدای موآب و مولِک خدای عمونیان را پرستش کرد. او در راه من نرفت. چیزی که من از او می خواستم نکرد و مثل پدر خود، داود فرایض و احکام مرا بجا نیاورد.
33because that they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.
33با اینهم، تمام سلطنت را از او نمی گیرم و بخاطر بندۀ برگزیده ام، داود که از احکام و فرایض من پیروی کرد، سلیمان را می گذارم که تا آخر عمر خود پادشاه باشد.
34“‘However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him prince all the days of his life, for David my servant’s sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes;
34ولی پادشاهی را از دست پسرش می گیرم و به تو می دهم ـ یعنی که تو پادشاه ده قبیله می شوی
35but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it to you, even ten tribes.
35و برای پسر او تنها یک قبیله را می دهم، تا چراغ بنده ام، داود در اورشلیم، شهریکه من آنرا بنام خود برگزیدم همیشه روشن باشد.
36To his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
36حالا ترا می برم و بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل می نشانم تا قرار دلخواه خود فرمانروای مطلق اسرائیل باشی.
37I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
37و اگر تو تمام احکام مرا بجا آوری، در راه من قدم گذاری، مطابق رضای من عمل کنی و مثل داود فرمانبردار اوامر من باشی، من همیشه همراه تو بوده سلطنت ترا مثل پادشاهی داود استوار و برقرار می سازم و زمام حکومت اسرائیل را به دست تو می دهم.
38It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
38اما بخاطر گناه سلیمان، اولادۀ داود را جزا می دهم ـ مگر نه برای همیشه.»»
39I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not forever.’”
39بنابران سلیمان قصد کشتن یَرُبعام را کرد، اما یَرُبعام به مصر پیش شیشق، پادشاه آن کشور فرار کرد و تا روز مرگ سلیمان در مصر ماند.
40Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam; but Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
40بقیۀ وقایع دوران سلطنت سلیمان، کارهای حکیمانه و آثار ادبی او در کتاب اعمال سلیمان ثبت اند.
41Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, aren’t they written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
41او مدت چهل سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.بعد درگذشت و با پدران خود پیوست و در شهر پدرش، داود بخاک سپرده شد و پسرش، رَحُبعام بجای او بر تخت سلطنت نشست.
42The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
42بعد درگذشت و با پدران خود پیوست و در شهر پدرش، داود بخاک سپرده شد و پسرش، رَحُبعام بجای او بر تخت سلطنت نشست.
43Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
