¹Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.

¹بعد سلیمان مو سفیدان بنی اسرائیل، سرکردگان تمام قبایل و رؤسای خانواده های اسرائیل را در اورشلیم جمع کرد تا صندوق پیمان خداوند را از شهر داود، یعنی سهیون، بیاورند.

²All the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

²این اجتماع در ایام عید سایبانها، در ماه ایتانیم که ماه هفتم سال است در حضور سلیمان تشکیل شد.

³All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

³وقتی مو سفیدان اسرائیل آمدند، کاهنان و لاویان صندوق پیمان خداوند را با تمام آلات مقدسه از خیمۀ اجتماع به عبادتگاه آوردند.

⁴They brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these the priests and the Levites brought up.

⁴پس سلیمان و همه کسانیکه با او در آنجا حضور داشتند گوسفندان و گاوهای بیشماری را در جلو صندوقچۀ پیمان قربانی کردند.

⁵King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

⁵بعد کاهنان صندوق پیمان خداوند را در جای مخصوصش، در قدس الاقداس، یعنی در مقدسترین جایگاه، در زیر بال کروب ها یعنی فرشتگان مقرب، قرار دادند.

⁶The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

⁶کروب ها بطوری ساخته شده بودند که بالهای شان بالای نقطه ای که صندوق پیمان خداوند باید گذاشته شود پهن می شد. بنابران بالها، صندوق و میله های حمل و نقل را می پوشاند.

⁷For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

⁷میله ها آنقدر دراز بودند که اگر کسی مستقیماً پیشروی مقدسترین جایگاه می ایستاد دو انجام میله ها را دیده می توانست نه از جای دیگری و تا به امروز در همانجا قرار دارند.

⁸The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there they are to this day.

⁸در بین صندوق پیمان خداوند تنها دو لوح سنگی وجود داشتند که موسی بعد از آنکه مردم اسرائیل از کشور مصر خارج شدند و خداوند با آن ها پیمانی بست آن ها را در حوریب در آن گذاشت.

⁹There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁹وقتی کاهنان از مقدسترین جایگاه بیرون آمدند یک ابر عبادتگاه خداوند را پُر ساخت،

¹⁰It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Yahweh,

¹⁰که کاهنان نتوانستند وظیفۀ خود را اجراء کنند، زیرا جلال و شکوه خداوند عبادتگاه را پُر کرده بود.

¹¹so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh.

¹¹آنگاه سلیمان گفت: «خداوند گفته است که در ابر غلیظ ساکن می شوم.

¹²Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

¹²ولی من عبادتگاهِ مجلل و جایگاهِ با شکوهی برایت ساخته ام که تا ابد در آن ساکن باشی.»

¹³I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”

¹³بعد پادشاه روبروی حاضرین ایستاد و از خدا خواست که همه را برکت بدهد

¹⁴The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

¹⁴و گفت: «به خداوند، خدای اسرائیل سپاس می گویم که با دست خود وعده ای را که به پدرم، داود داده بود عملی ساخت،

¹⁵He said, “Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

¹⁵زیرا خداوند به او گفت: «وقتیکه قوم برگزیدۀ خود را از مصر آوردم، جائی را در هیچکدام از قبایل اسرائیل برای خود تعیین نکردم، اما داود را مأمور ساختم که پیشوای قوم برگزیدۀ من باشد.»

¹⁶‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

¹⁶بنابران آرزوی پدرم، داود این بود که عبادتگاهی برای پرستش خداوند، خدای اسرائیل آباد کند.

¹⁷“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹⁷اما خداوند به پدرم، داود گفت: «چون در دل تو بود که عبادتگاهی برای اسم من بنا کنی، نیکو کردی که این را در دل خود نهادی،

¹⁸But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

¹⁸اما تو این کار را نخواهی کرد، بلکه پسرت که از نسل تو می آید، او کسی است که عبادتگاهی برای اسم من بنا می کند.»

¹⁹Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

¹⁹پس خداوند به وعدۀ خود وفا کرد، زیرا که من جانشین پدرم شدم و بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشستم و قرار وعدۀ خداوند، عبادتگاهی بنام او که خدای اسرائیل است ساختم.

²⁰Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

²⁰در آنجا جائی هم برای صندوق پیمان تعیین کردم. آن صندوق دارای پیمان خداوند است که پس از خروج بنی اسرائیل از مصر، با آن ها عقد کرد.»

²¹There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

²¹آنگاه سلیمان در حالیکه تمام قوم اسرائیل حاضر بودند، در مقابل قربانگاه در حضور خداوند ایستاد. دستهای خود را بسوی آسمان بلند کرد

²²Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

²²و گفت: «خداوندا، خدای اسرائیل، در آسمان ها و در روی زمین مانند تو وجود ندارد. به عهدت وفا می کنی و به بندگانت که ارادۀ ترا از دل و جان بجا می آورند دوستی و مهربانی نشان می دهی.

²³and he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;

²³وعده ای را که به بنده ات، داود داده بودی امروز عملی کردی.

²⁴who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

²⁴حالا ای خداوند، خدای اسرائیل، تمنا می کنم که وعدۀ دیگرت را هم که به پدرم، داود دادی نگهدار، زیرا که فرمودی: «اگر اولاده ات براه راست بروند و مثل تو رضای مرا بجا آورند همیشه یکی از آن ها صاحب تاج و تخت اسرائیل خواهد بود.»

²⁵Now therefore, may Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’

²⁵پس ای خدای اسرائیل، باز هم از تو می خواهم تا همه وعده هائی را که به بنده ات داود دادی به حقیقت برسانی.

²⁶“Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

²⁶اما آیا خداوند واقعاً بر روی زمین سکونت می کند؟ می دانم که آسمان و حتی بالاترین آسمان ها نمی تواند گنجایش ترا داشته باشند، چه رسد به این عبادتگاهی که من آباد کرده ام!

²⁷But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

²⁷ولی بازهم ای خداوند، دعای بنده ات را قبول کن. مناجات مرا بشنو. خداوندا، خدای من، به گریه و زاری من که امروز بدربارت می کنم گوش بده

²⁸Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you this day;

²⁸و به این عبادتگاهی که نام پاک ترا بر خود دارد نظر داشته باشی، زیرا که فرمودی: «نام من در آنجا می باشد.» پس رو به این عبادتگاه آورده دعا می کنم و از تو می خواهم که دعای مرا بشنوی.

²⁹that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.

²⁹به مناجات این بنده ات و قوم برگزیده ات که رو به این عبادتگاه می آورند گوش بده و در آسمان که مسکن تو است دعای ما را بشنو و گناهان ما را ببخش.

³⁰Listen to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place. Yes, hear in heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

³⁰اگر کسی در مقابل شخص دیگری گناهی کند و بر او قسم لازم شود و بعد بیاید و در برابر قربانگاه عبادتگاه بایستد و به بی گناهی خود قسم بخورد،

³¹“If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swear before your altar in this house;

³¹آنگاه ای خداوند از آسمان گوش بده و بر بندگانت قضاوت کن. گناهکار را بسزای عملش برسان و اشخاص صالح را اجر بده.

³²then hear in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

³²اگر قوم برگزیدۀ تو، مردم اسرائیل بخاطر گناهی که در مقابل تو می کنند و باز به تو روی آورده در این عبادتگاه می آیند و با زاری و نیاز از تو آمرزش گناه خود را می خواهند،

³³“When your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house:

³³به زاری شان در آسمان گوش بده. گناهان مردم اسرائیل را بخشیده آن ها را دوباره به سرزمینی که به نیاکان شان داده ای بیاور.

³⁴then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.

³⁴اگر دریچه های آسمان بسته شوند و بخاطریکه مردم در مقابل تو گناه کرده اند باران نبارد. باز هم اگر رو به این عبادتگاه آورده دعا کنند و به نام تو و به گناهان خود اعتراف نمایند،

³⁵“When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

³⁵پس دعای شان را در آسمان بشنو. گناهان بندگانت، مردم اسرائیل را ببخش. آن ها را براه راست هدایت کن. باران را بر زمینی که بعنوان مِلکیت به قوم برگزیده ات داده ای بفرست.

³⁶then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

³⁶اگر بر روی زمین قحطی بیاید، یا اگر مرض، طوفان، آفت، ملخ و کِرم هجوم آورند، یا دشمنان شان آن ها را در شهرهای شان محاصره کنند، و یا هر مرض و بلای دیگری که بیاید،

³⁷“If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;

³⁷پس وقتی یکنفر یا تمام قوم پیش تو زاری کنند و به گناهان خود اعتراف و دست دعا را بسوی این عبادتگاه بلند نمایند،

³⁸whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

³⁸دعای شان را در آسمان که مسکن تو است بشنو و گناهان شان را ببخش. هر کسی را نظر به اعمال او اجر یا جزا بده، زیرا تنها تو از اسرار دل هر کسی آگاه هستی.

³⁹then hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men;)

³⁹تا آنکه ایشان در تمام روزهای که به روی زمینی که تو به پدران شان بخشیده ای زنده باشند، از تو بترسند.

⁴⁰that they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

⁴⁰به همین طریق اگر شخص بیگانه ای که از مردم اسرائیل نباشد و آوازۀ نام بزرگ ترا شنیده و از قدرت دست و معجزات تو خبر شده باشد و بیاید و رو بسوی این عبادتگاه دعا کند،

⁴¹“Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for your name’s sake

⁴¹دعای او را از آسمان که جایگاه مقدس تو است قبول فرما و هر چه که از تو بخواهد به او ببخش تا همه مردم روی زمین مثل قوم اسرائیل نام ترا بشناسند و از تو بترسند و بدانند که این عبادتگاهی را که من آباد کرده ام بنام تو یاد می شود.

⁴²(for they shall hear of your great name, and of your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;

⁴²اگر قوم برگزیده ات را برای جنگ در مقابل دشمن به هر جائیکه بفرستی و آن ها رو بسوی این شهریکه تو برگزیده ای و این عبادتگاهی که به جهت اسم تو بنا کرده ام نموده دعا کنند،

⁴³hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.

⁴³آنگاه از آسمان دعای شان را اجابت فرما و حق ایشان را بجا آور.

⁴⁴“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to Yahweh toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;

⁴⁴اگر آن ها گناه کنند ـ زیرا انسان بی گناه و بی خطا نیست ـ و تو بر آن ها قهر شوی و آن ها را به دست دشمنان بسپاری و دشمنان آن ها را به یک کشور دور یا نزدیک ببرند،

⁴⁵then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

⁴⁵اما اگر آن ها در کشوریکه اسیر هستند از کاری که کرده اند پشیمان شوند و توبه نموده از همانجا بحضور تو دعا و زاری کنند و بگویند: «ما گناه کرده ایم، کار ما خطا بوده است.»

⁴⁶If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn’t sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;

⁴⁶اگر از دل و جان، در کشور دشمنان که آن ها را به اسارت برده اند، توبه کنند و رو بسوی این عبادتگاهی که من بنام تو ساخته ام بحضور تو دعا نمایند،

⁴⁷yet if they shall repent in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned, and have done perversely; we have dealt wickedly;’

⁴⁷دعا و زاری شان را در آسمان که بارگاه کبریای تو است قبول فرما و آن ها را به مقصد شان نایل گردان.

⁴⁸if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:

⁴⁸و همه گناه و خطای شان را ببخش و از تقصیرات شان درگذر. بر آن ها رحم کن،

⁴⁹then hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, your dwelling place, and maintain their cause;

⁴⁹زیرا آن ها قوم برگزیدۀ تو و وارث تو هستند و تو آن ها را از مصر، از کورۀ سوزان آتش بیرون آوردی.

⁵⁰and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

⁵⁰به زاری این بنده ات و قوم اسرائیل توجه فرما و به هر چه که از تو می خواهند گوش بده،

⁵¹(for they are your people, and your inheritance, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);

⁵¹چونکه تو آن ها را از بین تمام اقوام روی زمین برگزیدی و وقتیکه اجداد ما را از کشور مصر بیرون آوردی بوسیلۀ خدمتگارت، موسی اعلان کردی که آن ها وارث تو باشند.»

⁵²that your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.

⁵²پس از آنکه سلیمان از دعا و مناجات خود بدربار خداوند فارغ شد، از مقابل قربانگاه، جائیکه دست بدعا بسوی آسمان، زانو زده بود برخاست

⁵³For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh.”

⁵³و تمام مردم اسرائیل را با آواز بلند برای تمام قوم اسرائیل برکت طلبیده گفت:

⁵⁴It was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

⁵⁴«متبارک باد خداوندیکه مطابق وعدۀ خود به موسی، به قوم اسرائیل صلح و آرامش بخشید.

⁵⁵He stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

⁵⁵خداوند، خدای ما همان طوریکه با پدران ما بود همراه ما هم باشد. امیدوارم که ما را ترک نکند و از یاد نبرد.

⁵⁶“Blessed be Yahweh, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.

⁵⁶دلهای ما را بخود مایل گرداند، بما کمک کند که در راه او قدم برداریم، احکام و فرایض او را که به اجداد ما داده بود بجا آوریم.

⁵⁷May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us, nor forsake us;

⁵⁷آرزو می کنم که خداوند این دعا و مناجات مرا همیشه بخاطر داشته باشد و از روی رحمت و کَرَم خود احتیاجات روزمرۀ این بنده و مردم اسرائیل را فراهم گرداند.

⁵⁸that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.

⁵⁸تا همۀ مردم روی زمین بدانند که خداوند، خدای برحق است بغیر از او خدای دیگری وجود ندارد.

⁵⁹Let these my words, with which I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near to Yahweh our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;

⁵⁹دلهای تان با خداوند، خدای ما راست و کامل باشد. نظر به اوامر او رفتار کنید و احکام او را مثل امروز بجا آورید»

⁶⁰that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God. There is none else.

⁶⁰بعد پادشاه و همه کسانیکه با او بودند بحضور خداوند قربانی تقدیم کردند.

⁶¹“Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.”

⁶¹سلیمان بیست و دو هزار گاو و یکصد و بیست هزار گوسفند را بعنوان قربانی صلح بحضور خداوند اهداء نمود. به این ترتیب پادشاه و همۀ مردم اسرائیل عبادتگاه را وقف خداوند کردند.

⁶²The king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁶²چون قربانگاه برنجی گنجایش آنهمه قربانی های سوختنی و نذرهای آردی و چربی قربانی های صلح را نداشت، بنابران پادشاه در آن روز وسط حویلی پیشروی عبادتگاه خداوند را وقف اجرای آن مراسم کرد.

⁶³Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Yahweh, two and twenty thousand head of cattle, and one hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.

⁶³مراسم عید سایبانها در عبادتگاه تا چهارده روز ادامه داشت و گروه بزرگی از سرحد حمات تا وادی مصر بحضور خداوند، خدای ما حاضر بودند.بعد از ختم مراسم پادشاه همۀ مردم را به خانه های شان فرستاد و همگی برای شاه دعا کردند و با دلهای شاد بخاطر خوبی هائیکه خداوند در حق بندۀ خود، داود و مردم اسرائیل کرده بود به خانه های خود برگشتند.

⁶⁴The same day the king made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too little to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings.

⁶⁴بعد از ختم مراسم پادشاه همۀ مردم را به خانه های شان فرستاد و همگی برای شاه دعا کردند و با دلهای شاد بخاطر خوبی هائیکه خداوند در حق بندۀ خود، داود و مردم اسرائیل کرده بود به خانه های خود برگشتند.

⁶⁵So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

⁶⁶On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David his servant, and to Israel his people.
