1Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he joined affinity with Ahab.
1در این وقت یَهُوشافاط دارای ثروت و حشمت زیادی بود و با خاندان اخاب، پادشاه اسرائیل پیمان زناشوئی بست.
2After certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
2پس از چند سالی برای دیدن اخاب پادشاه به سامره رفت و اخاب برای او و همراهانش گوسفند و گاو بیشماری را کشت و ضمناً او را تشویق کرد که به راموت جِلعاد حمله ببرد.
3Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
3اخاب، پادشاه اسرائیل از یَهُوشافاط پرسید: «می خواهی همراه من به راموت جلعاد بروی؟» او جواب داد: «من مثل تو و قوم من چون قوم تو است. پس البته با شما بجنگ می رویم.»
4Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh.”
4یَهُوشافاط به پادشاه اسرائیل گفت: «خواهش می کنم که امروز از کلام خداوند مسألت نمایی.»
5Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
5پس پادشاه اسرائیل تمام انبیاء را که جمعاً چهارصد نفر بودند جمع کرد و از آن ها پرسید: «آیا برای جنگ به راموت جلعاد برویم یا نه؟» آن ها جواب دادند: «بروید و خداوند پادشاه را فاتح می سازد.»
6But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?”
6اما یَهُوشافاط پرسید: «آیا در اینجا بغیر از اینها کدام نبی دیگر هم است که بوسیلۀ او از خداوند مصلحت بخواهیم؟»
7The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
7پادشاه اسرائیل جواب داد: «بلی، یک نفر دیگر هم است و می توانیم از او خواهش کنیم که در این مورد از خداوند برای ما راهنمائی طلب نماید. نام او میکایا، پسر یِملا است، اما از او نفرت دارم، زیرا او هیچگاهی پیشگوئی خوبی در بارۀ من نمی کند. برعکس، همیشه چیزهای بد در مورد من می گوید.» یَهُوشافاط گفت: «پادشاه نباید این سخن را بزند.»
8Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
8آنگاه پادشاه اسرائیل یکی از مأمورین خود را فراخواند و به او گفت: «فوراً برو و میکایای پسر یِملا را بحضور من بیاور.»
9Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
9بعد هردو پادشاه یَهُودا و اسرائیل هر کدام ملبس با لباس شاهانه بر تخت خود در یک جای وسیع نزدیک دروازۀ دخول شهر سامره نشستند و همۀ انبیا در حضور شان نبوت می کردند.
10Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
10زدِقیه پسر کِنعنه که شاخهای آهنین جهت مراسم خاص برای خود ساخته بود، گفت: «خداوند چنین می فرماید: با اینها مردم سوریه را شکست می دهی و از بین می بری.»
11All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
11انبیاء دیگر هم همین پیشگوئی را کردند و گفتند: «به راموت جلعاد برو و پیروز شو؛ خداوند آن ها را به دست شاه تسلیم می کند.»
12The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
12قاصد شاه برای آوردن میکایا رفت و به او گفت: «همه انبیاء متفقاً نظریۀ نیکی دربارۀ شاه دادند و تو هم باید با نظریۀ آن ها موافق باشی و حرف خوب بزنی.»
13Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what my God says, that will I speak.”
13اما میکایا گفت: «به خداوند زنده قسم است که هرچه را که خدا بفرماید من فرمودۀ او را اعلام می کنم.»
14When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
14وقتی که بحضور شاه آمد، شاه از او پرسید: «میکایا، آیا برای جنگ به راموت جِلعاد بروم یا نه؟» میکایا جواب داد: «بلی، برو و پیروز شو! آن ها به تو تسلیم می شوند.»
15The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”
15پادشاه به او گفت: «چند مرتبه باید ترا قسم بدهم که فقط آنچه را که خداوند فرموده است به من بگوئی؟»
16He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them return every man to his house in peace.’”
16آنگاه میکایا جواب داد: «من مردم اسرائیل را دیدم که همگی بر فراز کوهها پراگنده اند و خداوند فرمود: این مردم صاحب ندارند، پس همگی به خانه های خود برگردند.»
17The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
17پادشاه اسرائیل رو بطرف یَهُوشافاط کرده گفت: «نگفتمت که این شخص بغیر از چیزهای بد هیچگاهی پیشگوئی خوبی در بارۀ من نمی کند؟»
18Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
18میکایا گفت: «بشنو که خداوند دیگر چه فرمود. من خداوند را دیدم که بر تخت خود نشسته است و همه فرشتگان در دست راست و چپ او ایستاده اند
19Yahweh said, ‘Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
19و آنگاه خداوند فرمود: «چه کسی می خواهد برود و اخاب، پادشاه اسرائیل را فریب دهد تا به راموت جِلعاد برود و در آنجا کشته شود؟» هر یک نظری مختلفی داد.
20A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’
20در این وقت، یکی از ارواح پیش آمد و بحضور خداوند ایستاد و عرض کرد: «من او را فریب می دهم.» خداوند پرسید: «چطور؟»
21“He said, ‘I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go forth, and do so.’
21او جواب داد: «من می روم و کاری می کنم که همه انبیای او دروغ بگویند.» خداوند فرمود: «برو و او را فریب ده، در کارت موفق می شوی.»
22“Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
22پس می بینی که خداوند روح را فرستاد تا کاری کند که انبیاء دروغ بگویند، زیرا خداوند می خواهد که بلائی بر سر تو بیاورد.»
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?”
23آنگاه زدِقیه پسر کِنعنه پیش آمد و بروی میکایا سیلی زد و پرسید: «روح خداوند از کدام راه از پیش من رفت و نزد تو آمد و با تو حرف زد؟»
24Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
24میکایا جواب داد: «روزیکه در پَسخانه بروی و خود را پنهان کنی، آنوقت خواهی دانست.»
25The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
25پادشاه اسرائیل گفت: «او را دستگیر کنید و پیش آمون، حاکم شهر و یوآش، پسر پادشاه ببرید
26and say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
26و بگوئید: پادشاه امر کرده است که این مرد را در زندان بیندازید و نان و آب برایش بدهید تا من بسلامتی از جنگ برگردم.»
27Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you peoples, all of you!”
27میکایا گفت: «اگر تو بسلامتی برگردی، در آنصورت معلوم می شود که خداوند با من حرف نزده است.» بعد رو بطرف مردم کرده گفت: «شما هم بشنوید و شاهد باشید.»
28So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
28پس پادشاه اسرائیل و یَهُوشافاط، پادشاه یَهُودا رهسپار راموت جلعاد شدند.
29The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
29پادشاه اسرائیل به یَهُوشافاط گفت: «من با تغییر قیافه به میدان جنگ می روم و تو لباس شاهی خود را بپوش.» بعد پادشاه تغییر قیافه داده برای جنگ رفت.
30Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
30پادشاه سوریه به فرماندهان عراده های جنگی امر کرده گفت: «از همگی صرفنظر کنید، فقط با خود پادشاه بجنگید.»
31It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
31وقتی فرماندهان عراده جات یَهُوشافاط را دیدند گمان کردند که پادشاه اسرائیل است، برگشتند تا بر او حمله کنند. اما یَهُوشافاط فریاد کرد و خداوند به کمک او رسید و او را نجات داد.
32It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
32چون فرماندهان پی بردند که او پادشاه اسرائیل نیست، از تعقیب او دست کشیدند.
33A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn your hand, and carry me out of the army; for I am severely wounded.”
33اما اتفاقاً شخصی کمان خود را کشید و تیری را رها کرد و تیر به دَرز زِرِه اخاب خورد و اخاب به رانندۀ عرادۀ خود گفت: «من زخمی شده ام. برگرد و مرا از میدان جنگ بیرون کن.»و در آن روز جنگ بسیار شدید شد و پادشاه اسرائیل در حالیکه رویش بطرف عساکر سوریه بود تا هنگام عصر در عرادۀ خود قرار گرفت و بعد در وقت غروب آفتاب چشم از جهان فروبست.
34The battle increased that day. However the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and about the time of the going down of the sun, he died.
34و در آن روز جنگ بسیار شدید شد و پادشاه اسرائیل در حالیکه رویش بطرف عساکر سوریه بود تا هنگام عصر در عرادۀ خود قرار گرفت و بعد در وقت غروب آفتاب چشم از جهان فروبست.
