¹Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

¹حزقیا در بیست و پنج سالگی به سلطنت رسید و مدت بیست و نُه سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. مادرش دختر زکریا بود و اَبِیَه نام داشت.

²He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that David his father had done.

²او مثل جد خود داود، با اعمال نیک خود رضایت و خوشنودی خداوند را حاصل کرد.

³He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Yahweh, and repaired them.

³حِزقیا در ماه اول سال اول سلطنت خود دروازه های عبادتگاه را باز و ترمیم کرد.

⁴He brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the broad place on the east,

⁴او کاهنان و لاویان را برای یک جلسه در میدان شمالی عبادتگاه فراخواند

⁵and said to them, “Listen to me, you Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of Yahweh, the God of your fathers, and carry out the filthiness out of the holy place.

⁵و خطاب به آن ها کرده گفت: «شما ای لاویان، به سخنان من گوش بدهید! طهارت کنید و عبادتگاه خداوند، خدای اجداد تان را تقدیس نمائید. چیزهای نجس را از آن عبادتگاه بیرون کنید.

⁶For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of Yahweh, and turned their backs.

⁶پدران ما خیانت کردند و با اعمال زشت خود خداوند، خدای ما را ناراضی ساختند. آن ها او را ترک کردند و از عبادتگاه خداوند روی برگردانیدند.

⁷Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.

⁷دروازه های عبادتگاه را بستند و چراغ هایش را خاموش نمودند. در عبادتگاه پاک خدای اسرائیل دیگر خوشبوئی دود نکردند و قربانی سوختنی اهداء ننمودند.

⁸Therefore the wrath of Yahweh was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to be tossed back and forth, to be an astonishment, and a hissing, as you see with your eyes.

⁸بنابران، غضب خداوند بر مردم یَهُودا و اورشلیم آمد. و قراریکه می بینید، خداوند سبب شد دشمنان آن ها را به وحشت بیندازند و مورد تمسخر قرار دهند.

⁹For, behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

⁹به همین خاطر، پدران ما با دَم شمشیر دشمن کشته شدند و پسران، دختران و زنان ما به اسارت رفتند.

¹⁰Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Yahweh, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

¹⁰حالا آرزوی من این است که با خداوند، خدای اسرائیل پیمانی ببندم تا خشم سوزندۀ او از سر ما رفع شود.

¹¹My sons, don’t be negligent now; for Yahweh has chosen you to stand before him, to minister to him, and that you should be his ministers, and burn incense.”

¹¹فرزندان من، وظیفۀ تانرا از روی ایمان و اخلاص بجا آورید، زیرا خداوند شما را برگزیده است که در حضور او کمربستۀ خدمت باشید و برای او خوشبوئی دود کنید.»

¹²Then the Levites arose, Mahath, the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;

¹²آنگاه از لاویانی که آنجا بودند این عده آمادۀ خدمت شدند: از خانوادۀ قُهاتی ها: مَحَت پسر عَماسای و یوئیل پسر عَزَریا از خانوادۀ مراری: قیس پسر عبدی و عَزَریا پسر یَهلَل ئیل از خانوادۀ جرشونی ها: یوآخ پسر زِمه و عِیدَن پسر یوآخ از خانوادۀ الیصافان: شِمری و یعی ئیل از خانوادۀ آساف: زَکَریا و مَتَنیا از خانوادۀ هیمان: یحیئیل و شِمعی از خانوادۀ یدوتون: شِمَعیه و عُزی ئیل.

¹³and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;

¹³این اشخاص برادران خود را جمع نموده طهارت کردند و قرار امر شاه و کلام خداوند، بداخل عبادتگاه رفته آنرا تقدیس نمودند.

¹⁴and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

¹⁴کاهنان اطاق اندرون عبادتگاه را پاک کردند و همه چیزهای نجس را که در آنجا یافتند به حویلی عبادتگاه بردند و سپس لاویان همه را از آنجا به وادی قِدرون بردند.

¹⁵They gathered their brothers, and sanctified themselves, and went in, according to the commandment of the king by the words of Yahweh, to cleanse the house of Yahweh.

¹⁵مراسم تقدیس را در روز اول ماه اول شروع کردند. در روز هشتم به دهلیز عبادتگاه رسیدند. هشت روز دیگر هم کار کردند تا اینکه کار تقدیس تمام شد و در روز شانزدهم ماه عبادتگاه خداوند برای عبادت آماده گردید.

¹⁶The priests went in to the inner part of the house of Yahweh, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in Yahweh’s temple into the court of the house of Yahweh. The Levites took it, to carry it out abroad to the brook Kidron.

¹⁶بعد لاویان پیش حزقیا پادشاه رفتند و به او گفتند: «ما کار تقدیس عبادتگاه را با قربانگاه قربانی سوختنی و وسایل آن، میز نان مقدس و ظروف آن تمام کردیم.

¹⁷Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of Yahweh; and they sanctified the house of Yahweh in eight days: and on the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

¹⁷همچنین تمام ظروفی را که آحاز پادشاه در دوران سلطنت خود، وقتیکه از خداوند رو برگردانیده و از عبادتگاه بیرون کرده بود دوباره بداخل عبادتگاه آوردیم و آماده و تقدیس کردیم و در پیشروی قربانگاه خداوند قرار دادیم.»

¹⁸Then they went in to Hezekiah the king within the palace, and said, “We have cleansed all the house of Yahweh, and the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and the table of show bread, with all its vessels.

¹⁸آنگاه حزقیا پادشاه بزودی همۀ مأمورین شهر را جمع کرد با آن ها یکجا به عبادتگاه خداوند رفتند.

¹⁹Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign threw away when he trespassed, have we prepared and sanctified; and behold, they are before the altar of Yahweh.”

¹⁹در آنجا هفت گاو، هفت قوچ، هفت بره و هفت بُز نر را بعنوان کفارۀ گناه برای سلطنت، عبادتگاه و مردم یَهُودا آوردند و شاه به کاهنان اولادۀ هارون امر کرد که آن ها را بر قربانگاه خداوند قربانی کنند.

²⁰Then Hezekiah the king arose early, and gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the house of Yahweh.

²⁰پس آن ها گاوها را کشتند و خون آن ها را بر قربانگاه پاشیدند. بعد قوچها را کشتند و خون آن ها را هم بر قربانگاه پاشیدند

²¹They brought seven bulls, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of Yahweh.

²¹و در آخر هفت بُز نر را جهت کفارۀ گناه بحضور جمعیت آوردند و دستهای خود را بر آن ها گذاشتند.

²²So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: and they killed the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar: they killed also the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

²²بعد کاهنان آن ها را کشتند و خون آن ها را بعنوان کفارۀ گناهِ تمام مردم اسرائیل بر قربانگاه پاشیدند، زیرا پادشاه امر کرده بود که قربانی گناه و قربانی سوختنی برای تمام اسرائیل تقدیم شود.

²³They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them:

²³حزقیا، قرار امری که خداوند به توسط جاد پیغمبر و ناتان نبی به داود داده بود لاویان را با دایره و چنگ و رباب در عبادتگاه خداوند گماشت.

²⁴and the priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

²⁴پس لاویان با همان آلات موسیقی که داود می نواخت و کاهنان با سُرنا آماده ایستادند.

²⁵He set the Levites in the house of Yahweh with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was of Yahweh by his prophets.

²⁵بعد حزقیا امر کرد که قربانی سوختنی را بر قربانگاه تقدیم کنند. با شروع مراسم قربانی سرود حمد خداوند را خواندند و سُرنا و آلات موسیقی داود آنرا همراهی کردند.

²⁶The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

²⁶تمام حاضرین به سجده افتادند و تا پایان مراسم سرایندگان سرائیدند و نوازندگان ساز خود را نواختند.

²⁷Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song of Yahweh began also, and the trumpets, together with the instruments of David king of Israel.

²⁷پس از پایان مراسم، پادشاه و حاضرین زانو زده خدا را پرستش کردند.

²⁸All the assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded; all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

²⁸در آخر، حزقیا و رهبران قوم به لاویان امر کردند تا سرود حمد خداوند را که داود و آساف نوشته بودند بخوانند و آن ها با خوشی و سرور زیاد نوای حمد خداوند را سرودند و مردم زانو زده خدا را پرستش کردند.

²⁹When they had made an end of offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.

²⁹بعد حزقیا گفت: «چون مراسم تقدیس انجام شد، حالا باید قربانی شکرانگی را به عبادتگاه خداوند بیاورید.» مردم همگی قربانی شکرانگی را آوردند و همچنین کسان دیگر قرار دلخواه حیواناتی جهت قربانی سوختنی هم آوردند

³⁰Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to Yahweh with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

³⁰که جمله هفتاد گاو نر، صد قوچ و دوهزار بره بود.

³¹Then Hezekiah answered, “Now you have consecrated yourselves to Yahweh; come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of Yahweh.” The assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings.

³¹برعلاوه ششصد گاو و سه هزار گوسفند هم قربانی کردند تا مردم بخورند.

³²The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to Yahweh.

³²اما چون تعداد کاهنان کم بود و نمی توانستند همه قربانی ها را پوست کنند، بنابران، تا که سایر کاهنان خود را تقدیس کردند برادران شان، یعنی لاویان حاضر شدند که برای انجام کار با آن ها کمک نمایند. (لاویان نسبت به کاهنان در اجرای امور عبادتگاه صادق تر بودند.)

³³The consecrated things were six hundred head of cattle and three thousand sheep.

³³به اضافۀ قربانی های سوختنی، مقدار زیادی چربی و دُنبۀ قربانی سلامتی و نوشیدنی هم تقدیم شد. سرانجام، عبادتگاه خداوند برای عبادت آماده شد.حزقیا و همۀ مردم از اینکه خداوند به آن زودی در اجرای کارهای شان کمک کرد، خوشحال بودند.

³⁴But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: therefore their brothers the Levites helped them, until the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves; for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

³⁴حزقیا و همۀ مردم از اینکه خداوند به آن زودی در اجرای کارهای شان کمک کرد، خوشحال بودند.

³⁵Also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and with the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of Yahweh was set in order.

³⁶Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, because of that which God had prepared for the people: for the thing was done suddenly.
