¹Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹چون مردم نتوانستند که در وقت معین، یعنی در ماه اول سال عید فِصَح را تجلیل کنند و بخاطریکه کاهنان به تعداد کافی تقدیس نشده بودند و برعلاوه، مردم زیاد هم نتوانستند که در اورشلیم جمع شوند، حِزقیا، مقامات دولتی و تمام مردم اورشلیم تصمیم گرفتند که مراسم عید را در ماه دوم برگزار نمایند. بنابران، حِزقیا پادشاه، نامه هائی بسراسر اسرائیل و یَهُودا و همچنین به قبایل افرایم و مَنَسّی فرستاد و از آن ها دعوت کرد که به عبادتگاه خداوند بیایند و به افتخار نام خداوند، خدای اسرائیل مراسم عید فِصَح را تجلیل کنند.

²For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the assembly in Jerusalem, to keep the Passover in the second month.

²پس این نظریه مورد پسند شاه و جمعیت قرار گرفت

³For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

³که به تمام مردم ـ از بئرشِبع تا دان ـ اعلان شود تا همۀ قوم مراسم عید فِصَح را به افتخار نام خداوند، خدای اسرائیل برگزار کنند، زیرا از مدت زیادی تا آن زمان با آن تعداد کثیر مردم تجلیل نشده بود.

⁴The thing was right in the eyes of the king and of all the assembly.

⁴پس قاصدان شاه بسراسر اسرائیل و یَهُودا رفتند و فرمان پادشاه را که حاوی این مضمون بود برای شان رساندند: «ای قوم اسرائیل، بسوی خداوند، خدای ابراهیم و اسحاق و اسرائیل برگردید زیرا او شما را هم که از دست پادشاهان آشور فرار کرده اید، بسوی خود فراخواند.

⁵So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to Yahweh, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem: for they had not kept it in great numbers in such sort as it is written.

⁵مثل پدران و برادران تان نباشید که از خداوند، خدای اجداد خود نافرمانی کردند و اینک می بینید که خداوند همه را از بین برد.

⁶So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, “You children of Israel, turn again to Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may return to the remnant that have escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

⁶مانند اجداد خود سرسختی نکنید، بلکه بحضور خداوند، سر تواضع و فروتنی خم نمائید. به عبادتگاه او که آنرا تا به ابد تقدیس نموده است، بیائید و او را پرستش نمائید تا خشم شدید او از سر تان رفع شود،

⁷Don’t be like your fathers, and like your brothers, who trespassed against Yahweh, the God of their fathers, so that he gave them up to desolation, as you see.

⁷زیرا اگر بسوی خداوند برگردید، کسانی که خویشاوندان و فرزندان تان را به اسارت برده اند، بر آن ها رحم می کنند و آن ها را به این سرزمین پیش شما بر می گردانند، زیرا که خداوند رحیم و مهربان است. اگر بسوی او برگردید او هم از شما رو بر نمی گرداند.»

⁸Now don’t be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves to Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve Yahweh your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

⁸پس قاصدان به سرزمین افرایم و مَنَسّی و تا زبولون، از یک شهر به شهر دیگری رفتند، اما مردم به آن ها خندیدند و مسخرۀ شان کردند.

⁹For if you turn again to Yahweh, your brothers and your children shall find compassion before those who led them captive, and shall come again into this land: for Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”

⁹تنها عدۀ کمی از قبیلۀ اَشیر، مَنَسّی و زبولون حاضر شدند که به اورشلیم بروند.

¹⁰So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, even to Zebulun: but they ridiculed them, and mocked them.

¹⁰با کمک خداوند، مردم یَهُودا هم یکدل شدند و از فرمان شاه و مأمورین دولت، به پیروی از کلام خداوند، اطاعت کردند.

¹¹Nevertheless certain men of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

¹¹به این ترتیب، در ماه دوم تعداد زیادی از مردم برای برگزاری عید نان فطیر در اورشلیم یکجا شدند و جمعیت بزرگی را تشکیل دادند.

¹²Also on Judah came the hand of God to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the princes by the word of Yahweh.

¹²آنگاه دست به کار شدند و قربانگاه های بت پرستان را که در اورشلیم بودند، ویران کردند، همچنین قربانگاه های خوشبوئی دودکردنی را از جای شان کندند و در وادی قِدرون انداختند.

¹³Many people assembled at Jerusalem to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly.

¹³در روز چهاردهم ماه دوم برۀ فِصَح را کشتند. آن وقت کاهنان و لاویان که قرار اصول مذهبی تقدیس نشده بودند، شرمیدند و خود را تقدیس کردند و قربانی سوختنی را به عبادتگاه خداوند آوردند.

¹⁴They arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

¹⁴و طبق شریعت موسی، مرد خدا، به وظایف خود مصروف شدند. لاویان خون قربانی را به کاهنان می دادند و آن ها خون را بر قربانگاه می پاشیدند.

¹⁵Then they killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought burnt offerings into the house of Yahweh.

¹⁵چون بسیاری از حاضرین در آنجا خود را تقدیس نکرده بودند، بنابران، لاویان گوسفند فِصَح را برای شان قربانی می کردند. همچنین مردم قبایل افرایم، مَنَسّی، زبولون و ایسَسکار با وجودیکه طهارت نکرده بودند، مخالف اصول شریعت از طعام عید فِصَح می خوردند. اما حِزقیا برای شان دعا کرده گفت: «خداوند مهربان همه کسانی را که مایلند راه خداوند، خدای پدران خود را تعقیب کنند، ببخشد، هرچند که آن ها قرار اصول شریعت تقدیس نشده اند.»

¹⁶They stood in their place after their order, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood which they received of the hand of the Levites.

¹⁶خداوند دعای حِزقیا را قبول فرمود و مردم صدمه ای ندیدند.

¹⁷For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves: therefore the Levites were in charge of killing the Passovers for everyone who was not clean, to sanctify them to Yahweh.

¹⁷مردم اسرائیل که در اورشلیم حضور داشتند، با کمال خوشی مراسم عید نان فطیر را برای هفت روز تجلیل کردند. لاویان و کاهنان خداوند را با ساز و نوای موسیقی حمد و ثنا فرستادند.

¹⁸For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than it is written. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Yahweh pardon everyone

¹⁸و حِزقیا لاویانی را که در خدمت به خداوند لیاقت و پشت کار نشان دادند تشویق نمود. به این ترتیب، مدت هفت روز از غذای عید خوردند، قربانی سلامتی تقدیم کردند و مراتب شکرانگی را به بارگاه خداوند، خدای اجداد خود عرض نمودند.

¹⁹who sets his heart to seek God, Yahweh, the God of his fathers, even if they aren’t clean according to the purification of the sanctuary.”

¹⁹بعد تمام حاضرین موافقه کردند که مراسم عید را برای هفت روز دیگر برگزار کنند، بنابران، یک هفتۀ دیگر را هم با خوشی سپری نمودند.

²⁰Yahweh listened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

²⁰حِزقیا، پادشاه یَهُودا به حاضرین یک هزار گاو و هفت هزار گوسفند برای قربانی داد. و مأمورین دولت هم به مردم یک هزار گاو و ده هزار گوسفند دادند و در آن روزها تعداد زیادی از کاهنان خود را تقدیس کردند.

²¹The children of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised Yahweh day by day, singing with loud instruments to Yahweh.

²¹تمام مردم یَهُودا، کاهنان، لاویان و همه کسانی که از اسرائیل آمده بودند، با بیگانگان ساکن اسرائیل و یَهُودا وقت بسیار خوشی داشتند

²²Hezekiah spoke comfortably to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of Yahweh. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings, and making confession to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

²²و در شهر اورشلیم یک عالم خوشی و سُرُور برپا بود. و از زمان سلیمان، پسر داود تا آن روز چنان مراسم با شکوهی در اورشلیم دیده نشده بود.بعد کاهنان و لاویان از جا برخاستند و قوم را برکت دادند و خداوند از جایگاه مقدس خود در آسمان دعای آن ها را شنید.

²³The whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days; and they kept another seven days with gladness.

²³بعد کاهنان و لاویان از جا برخاستند و قوم را برکت دادند و خداوند از جایگاه مقدس خود در آسمان دعای آن ها را شنید.

²⁴For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

²⁵All the assembly of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the assembly who came out of Israel, and the foreigners who came out of the land of Israel, and who lived in Judah, rejoiced.

²⁶So there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

²⁷Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even to heaven.
