1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.
1مَنَسّی دوازده ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدت پنجاه و پنج سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.
2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
2اعمال و کردار او در نظر خداوند زشت بودند. از راه و روش اقوامی که خداوند آن ها را از سر راه قوم اسرائیل دور کرد، پیروی نمود.
3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baals, and made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.
3معابد بالای تپه ها را که پدرش، حزقیا ویران نموده بود، دوباره آباد کرد. برای بَعل قربانگاه و همچنین بتهای اَشیره را ساخت. ستارگان آسمان را پرستش و سجده کرد.
4He built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”
4قربانگاه بت پرستان را در هر دو حویلی عبادتگاه خداوند برای پرستش آفتاب، مهتاب و ستارگان آباد کرد، یعنی در همان جائی که خداوند فرموده بود: «نام من در اورشلیم تا به ابد بماند.»
5He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the house of Yahweh.
5مَنَسّی پسران خود را در وادی بن هِنوم از آتش گذرانید. او فالبینی، افسونگری و جادوگری می کرد و با احضار کنندگان ارواح و جادوگران سر و کار داشت. مَنَسّی در نظر خداوند شرارت بسیار ورزیده، خشم او را برافروخت.
6He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and practiced sorcery, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
6خداوند به داود و پسرش، سلیمان فرموده بود: «در همین خانه و در اورشلیم که من آنرا از بین تمام شهرهای قبایل اسرائیل برگزیده ام، نام خود را برای همیشه می گذارم. اگر قوم اسرائیل همه احکام، اوامر و فرایض مرا که بوسیلۀ موسی به آن ها داده ام، بجا آورند، هرگز نمی گذارم که پای شان از این سرزمینی که به پدران شان بخشیده ام، بیرون شود.»
7He set the engraved image of the idol, which he had made, in God’s house, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever:
7اما مَنَسّی در همان جایگاه مقدس، یعنی عبادتگاه خداوند، بتهائی را که ساخته بود، قرار داد. او قوم یَهُودا و ساکنین اورشلیم را گمراه ساخت و در نتیجه اعمال و رفتار شان بدتر از شرارت اقوامی شدند که خداوند آن ها را از سر راه قوم اسرائیل محو کرده بود.
8neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances given by Moses.”
8خداوند به مَنَسّی و مردم او اخطار داد، اما آن ها گوش ندادند،
9Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel did.
9بنابران، خداوند لشکر پادشاه آشور را به مقابل شان فرستاد. آن ها مَنَسّی را با چنگک ها دستگیر کردند و بزنجیر برنجی بستند و به بابل بردند.
10Yahweh spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.
10بالاخره مَنَسّی در تنگی و ناتوانی خود خداوند، خدای خود را طلب نمود و به حضور خدای اجداد خود بسیار فروتن گردید.
11Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
11چون به حضور خدا دعا کرد، او را اجابت نمود، التماس او را شنید و او را دوباره به اورشلیم و سلطنتش برگرداند. آنوقت مَنَسّی دانست که خداوند، او خدا است.
12When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.
12مَنَسّی بعداً دیوار خارجی شهر داود را از غرب جیحون، در وادی تا دهن دروازۀ ماهی آباد کرد. همچنین دیوار بسیار بلندی به دورادور شهر عوفل ساخت و در هر شهر مستحکم یَهُودا فرماندهان نظامی را گماشت.
13He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.
13خدایان بیگانه و بُت را از عبادتگاه خداوند بیرون کرد و همه قربانگاه هائی را که ساخته بود، از اورشلیم، از سر کوهی که بر آن عبادتگاه خداوند واقع بود، ویران ساخت و سنگ و خاک آنرا در بیرون شهر انداخت.
14Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.
14قربانگاه خداوند را دوباره آباد کرد و قربانی های صلح و سلامتی و شکرانگی بر آن تقدیم نمود. به مردم یَهُودا امر کرد که خداوند، خدای اسرائیل را بپرستند.
15He took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of Yahweh, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the house of Yahweh, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
15اما مردم بازهم در معابد بالای تپه ها قربانی می کردند، مگر فقط برای خداوند، خدای خود.
16He built up the altar of Yahweh, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.
16بقیۀ وقایع دوران سلطنت مَنَسّی، دعای او بدربار خداوند و سخنانی را که پیغمبران بنام خداوند، خدای اسرائیل به او گفته بودند، همه در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده اند.
17Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only to Yahweh their God.
17همچنان مناجات او، ایجاب توبۀ او از جانب خداوند، گناهان و نافرمانی او و جاهائی که در آن ها معابد بلند را ساخت و اَشیره و بتها را، پیش از آنکه توبه کند، قرار داد، همگی در کتاب تاریخ پیغمبران ثبت اند.
18Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.
18وقتی مَنَسّی فوت کرد او را در قصر خودش بخاک سپردند و پسرش، آمون جانشین او شد.
19His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the engraved images, before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.
19آمون در سن بیست و دو سالگی به سلطنت رسید و مدت دو سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد.
20So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his place.
20او مثل پدر خود، مَنَسّی دست به کارهای زشتی زد که خداوند از او ناراضی شد. برای بتهائی که پدرش ساخته بود قربانی کرد و آن ها را پرستید.
21Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.
21برعکس پدر خود که از گناهان خود بحضور خداوند توبه کرد، او همچنان مغرور بود و توبه نکرد و بیش از پیش گناه ورزید.
22He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.
22بعد مأمورینش برضد او توطئه کردند و در قصر خودش او را کشتند.اما مردم کشور همه کسانی را که در قتل آمون پادشاه دست داشتند، بقتل رساندند و پسرش، یوشیا بجای او پادشاه شد.
23He didn’t humble himself before Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.
23اما مردم کشور همه کسانی را که در قتل آمون پادشاه دست داشتند، بقتل رساندند و پسرش، یوشیا بجای او پادشاه شد.
24His servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.
25But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
