1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s place in Jerusalem.
1بعد از وفات یوشِیا، مردم کشور، یَهُواحاز (پسر یوشِیا) را بجای پدرش به پادشاهی انتخاب کردند.
2Joahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
2یَهُواحاز بیست و سه ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدت سه ماه در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.
3The king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem, and fined the land one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
3بعد پادشاه مصر او را از پادشاهی برکنار ساخت و جزیه ای که عبارت از سه هزار و چهار صد کیلوگرام نقره و سی و چهار کیلوگرام طلا بود بر کشور یَهُودا تحمیل کرد.
4The king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. Neco took Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
4پادشاه مصر اِلیاقِیم (برادر یَهُواحاز) را به پادشاهی یَهُودا گماشت. نام او را به یَهویاقیم تبدیل نمود و یَهُواحاز را با خود به مصر اسیر برد.
5Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh his God.
5یَهویاقیم بیست و پنج ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدت یازده سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. کارهای او همه در نظر خداوند زشت بودند.
6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
6نِبوکدنِزر، پادشاه بابل به اورشلیم حمله کرد و یَهویاقیم را به زنجیر بسته به بابل برد.
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of Yahweh to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
7او همچنان بعضی از ظروف عبادتگاه خداوند را هم با خود برد و در قصر خود، در بابل قرار داد.
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
8بقیۀ کارروائی های یَهویاقیم و اعمال زشت او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل و یَهُودا ذکر شده اند. بعد از او پسرش، یهویاکین جانشین او شد.
9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
9یهویاکین در سن هجده سالگی بر تخت سلطنت نشست و مدت سه ماه و ده روز در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. از او اعمال زشتی سرزد که خداوند را ناراضی ساخت.
10At the return of the year king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of Yahweh, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
10بعد در بهار همان سال، نِبوکدنِزر او را با ظروف گرانبهای عبادتگاه خداوند به بابل برد و برادرش، صدقیا را بجای او به پادشاهی یَهُودا گماشت.
11Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem:
11صدقیا بیست و یک ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدت یازده سال در اورشلیم پادشاه بود.
12and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh his God; he didn’t humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of Yahweh.
12او کارهائی کرد که در نظر خداوند، خدای او زشت بودند. او در برابر ارمیای نبی که پیام خداوند را برای او آورد، تواضع نشان نداد.
13He also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning to Yahweh, the God of Israel.
13برعلاوه، باوجودیکه بنام خداوند قسم خورده بود که به نِبوکدنِزر وفادار بماند، بازهم برضد او شورش نمود. او یک شخص سرسخت و مغرور بود و از فرمان خداوند، خدای اسرائیل اطاعت نکرد.
14Moreover all the chiefs of the priests, and the people, trespassed very greatly after all the abominations of the nations; and they polluted the house of Yahweh which he had made holy in Jerusalem.
14بر علاوه، رهبران یَهُودا، کاهنان و مردم مانند اقوام اطراف خویش بت پرست شدند و به این ترتیب، عبادتگاه را که خداوند خودش مقدس ساخته بود، نجس ساختند.
15Yahweh, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
15خداوند، خدای اجداد شان بخاطر شفقت و محبتی که به قوم برگزیده و عبادتگاه خود داشت، پیامهای مکرر ذریعۀ پیغمبران خود برای آن ها فرستاد،
16but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against his people, until there was no remedy.
16اما پیغمبران خدا را همیشه مسخره می کردند، کلام خدا را ناچیز می شمردند و به انبیاء اهانت می کردند، تا آنکه آتش غضب خداوند برافروخته شد و دیگر راه نجاتی برایشان باقی نماند.
17Therefore he brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or gray-headed: he gave them all into his hand.
17آنگاه خداوند پادشاه بابل را برای سرکوبی آن ها فرستاد. او مردان جوان آن ها را با دَم شمشیر بقتل رساند. به جوانان، دوشیزگان و اشخاص پیر و سالخورده رحم نکرد. خداوند همۀ آن ها را به دست او تسلیم نمود.
18All the vessels of God’s house, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon.
18ظروف و لوازم خانۀ خداوند و هر چیز دیگر را با دارائی خزانه های عبادتگاه و قصر شاهی و مأمورین دولتی به بابل برد.
19They burnt God’s house, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels of it.
19عبادتگاه خداوند را آتش زد. دیوار شهر اورشلیم را ویران کرد. قصرها را به خاکستر تبدیل نمود و همه وسایل قیمتی عبادتگاه خداوند را از بین برد.
20He carried those who had escaped from the sword away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
20کسانی که از دم شمشیر نجات یافته بودند، بعنوان اسیر به بابل برده شدند. در آنجا غلام و کنیز پادشاهان و شهزادگان گردیدند و تا تأسیس سلطنت فارس در غلامی بسر بردند.
21to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. As long as it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.
21به این ترتیب، کلام خداوند عملی شد که بوسیلۀ ارمیای نبی فرموده بود: «این سرزمین برای هفتاد سال خالی از سکنه خواهد بود، تا سالهائی که در آن ها مردم اسرائیل قانون سَبَت را شکسته بودند، تلافی شوند.»در سال اول سلطنت کورش، پادشاه فارس، خداوند آنچه را که بزبان ارمیای نبی فرموده بود، عملی کرد. خداوند باعث شد که کورش اعلامیه ای ذیل را بقلم خود بنویسد و در سراسر قلمرو خود نشر کند: «خداوند، خدای آسمان ها اختیار تمام ممالک جهان را به دست من سپرده است و به من هدایت فرمود که در شهر اورشلیم، در سرزمین یَهُودا عبادتگاهی برای او آباد کنم. پس همه کسانی که از قوم برگزیدۀ او در بین شما ساکن هستند، می توانند به وطن خود برگردند. خداوند، خدای شما همراهِ همۀ تان باد!»
22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
22در سال اول سلطنت کورش، پادشاه فارس، خداوند آنچه را که بزبان ارمیای نبی فرموده بود، عملی کرد. خداوند باعث شد که کورش اعلامیه ای ذیل را بقلم خود بنویسد و در سراسر قلمرو خود نشر کند: «خداوند، خدای آسمان ها اختیار تمام ممالک جهان را به دست من سپرده است و به من هدایت فرمود که در شهر اورشلیم، در سرزمین یَهُودا عبادتگاهی برای او آباد کنم. پس همه کسانی که از قوم برگزیدۀ او در بین شما ساکن هستند، می توانند به وطن خود برگردند. خداوند، خدای شما همراهِ همۀ تان باد!»
23“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given all the kingdoms of the earth to me; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all his people, Yahweh his God be with him, and let him go up.’”
