1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bore spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.
1چون آوازۀ شهرت سلیمان بگوش ملکۀ سبا رسید، با شان و شوکت بسیار و کاروان شترهای حامل عطریات، طلا و جواهرات به اورشلیم آمد تا با سوالات پیچیده او را امتحان کند و مسایل خود را با او در میان گذارد.
2Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her.
2سلیمان به همه سوالات او جواب داد همه چیز را بی پرده و آشکارا برای او بیان کرد.
3When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
3و ملکۀ سبا از حکمت و دانش سلیمان و از دیدن قصری که آباد کرده بود،
4and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, his cup bearers also, and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.
4اقسام غذائی که بر سر میز بودند، تعداد مأمورین او که در آن مجلس حضور داشتند، خدمتگاران و ساقیان او با لباس فاخر و قربانی هائی که در عبادتگاه خداوند تقدیم کرد، بسیار تعجب نمود.
5She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.
5ملکه به پادشاه گفت: «آوازۀ کارروائی ها و حکمت ترا که در کشور خود شنیده بودم همه حقیقت دارند،
6However I didn’t believe their words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me: you exceed the fame that I heard.
6اما تا همه را بچشم خود ندیدم باور نمی کردم، و حالا می بینم که حتی نیم اینهمه جلال و شوکتی را که تو داری به من نگفته بودند.
7Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and hear your wisdom.
7خوشا بحال این ملت تو! خوشا بحال خدمتگارانت که همواره کمربستۀ خدمتت هستند و از حکمت تو مستفید می شوند!
8Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne, to be king for Yahweh your God: because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore made he you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”
8سپاس باد بر خداوند، خدای تو که از تو خوشنود است و ترا بر تخت خود نشاند تا پادشاه خداوند، خدای خود باشی. چون خدایت به قوم اسرائیل محبت دارد و ارادۀ او این بود که آن ها برای همیشه ساکنین این سرزمین باشند و ترا بعنوان پادشاه آن ها برگزید تا از عدالت و مساوات برخوردار گردند.»
9She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
9بعد ملکه به پادشاه در حدود چهار تُن طلا، مقدار زیادی از عطریات و جواهرات داد که تا آن زمان چنان عطریاتی در آن کشور دیده نشده بود.
10The servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.
10برعلاوه نمایندگان حورام و مأمورین سلیمان با طلائیکه از اوفیر آوردند چوب صندل هم وارد کردند.
11The king made of the algum trees terraces for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers: and there were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.
11پادشاه از آن چوب صندل زینه برای عبادتگاه خداوند و قصر سلطنتی ساخت. همچنان از آن چوب یک تعداد چنگ و رباب ساخت که مثل آن ها قبلاً در سرزمین یَهُودا وجود نداشت.
12King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which she had brought to the king. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
12سلیمان پادشاه همه چیزی را که ملکۀ سبا می خواست به او داد و تحفه های دیگری هم بیشتر از آنچه که ملکۀ سبا برایش آورده بود به او داد. بعد ملکه آنجا را ترک کرد، با همه خدمه و حشمت به وطن خود برگشت.
13Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
13وزن طلائیکه سلیمان در ظرف یک سال دریافت کرد بالغ بر بیست و سه تُن بود.
14besides that which the traders and merchants brought: and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
14برعلاوه تاجران، سوداگران، پادشاهان عرب، والیان کشور هم نقره و طلا برای او آوردند.
15King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one buckler.
15سلیمان پادشاه از آن طلا دو صد سپر بزرگ و سه صد سپر کوچک ساخت. برای ساختن هر سپر بزرگ ششصد مثقال طلا و برای ساختن سپر کوچک سه صد مثقال طلا به کار برد و همۀ آن ها را در قصر جنگل لبنان قرار داد.
16He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
16پادشاه همچنان تخت بزرگی از عاج ساخت و آنرا با طلای خالص ورق شانی کرد.
17Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
17آن تخت شش پَتَه داشت و دارای پای اندازی از طلا و به خود تخت پیوست بود. چوکی آن بازودار و در پهلوی هر بازو مجسمۀ یک شیر قرار داشت.
18And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.
18دوازده شیر دیگر بر شش پتۀ زینه، یعنی در هر طرف زینه یک شیر ایستاده بود. نظیر آن تخت در هیچ سلطنتی دیده نمی شد.
19Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.
19ظروف نوشیدنی پادشاه و همچنین ظروف تالار قصر جنگل لبنان همه از طلای خالص ساخته شده بودند. در دوران سلطنت سلیمان نقره ارزشی نداشت،
20All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
20زیرا کشتی های شاه هر سه سال یک مرتبه با دریا نوردان حورام به ترشیش می رفتند و طلا، نقره، عاج، میمون و طاؤس می آوردند.
21For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
21به این ترتیب، سلیمان پادشاه در ثروت و حکمت از همه پادشاهان دیگر برتر بود.
22So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
22همه سلاطین روی زمین آرزو داشتند که در حضور سلیمان باشند و از حکمت خداداد او مستفید شوند.
23All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
23هر کدام آن ها سال بسال تحفه های فراوان از قبیل آلات نقره ئی و طلائی، البسه، اسلحه، ادویه، عطریات، اسپ و قاطر برای او می آوردند.
24They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
24سلیمان چهار هزار طویله برای اسپها و عرابه های خود داشت. او همچنین دارای دوازده هزار سوار بود و آن ها را در اورشلیم نگه می داشت و بقیه را در شهرهای دیگر.
25Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
25او بر همه پادشاهان نواحی دریای فرات تا کشور فلسطینی ها و سرحد مصر حکمرانی داشت.
26He ruled over all the kings from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.
26در زمان سلیمان نقره مثل سنگ ناچیز و چوب سرو مانند چوب چنارِ دامنه های کوهستان یَهُودا فراوان بود.
27The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
27برای سلیمان اسپها را از مصر وارد می کردند.
28They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
28بقیۀ وقایع دوران سلطنت سلیمان، از اول تا آخر، در کتاب تاریخ ناتان نبی، نبوت اخیای شیلونی و در رؤیای یَعدوی پیغمبر (که در آن راجع به یَرُبعام پسر نباط هم اشاره شده است) ثبت شده اند.
29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
29سلیمان مدت چهل سال پادشاه اسرائیل در اورشلیم بود.بعد سلیمان درگذشت و با پدران خود پیوست و پسرش رَحُبعام جانشین او شد.
30Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
30بعد سلیمان درگذشت و با پدران خود پیوست و پسرش رَحُبعام جانشین او شد.
31Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
