¹In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

¹در زمان سلطنت یَهویاقیم، نِبوکدنِزر، پادشاه بابل به یهودا حمله کرد. یَهویاقیم برای سه سال به او جزیه داد و بعد دست به شورش زد.

²Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

²خداوند، قراریکه به انبیای خود فرموده بود، فوج مسلح کلدانیان، ارامیان، موابی های و عمونیان را برای سرکوبی و نابودی یهودا فرستاد.

³Surely at the commandment of Yahweh came this on Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

³یعنی این حمله بنابر اراده و امر خداوند صورت گرفت و بخاطر گناهانی که منسی مرتکب شد و خون هزاران مردم بیگناه را ریخت و اورشلیم را از خون آن ها پُر کرد. بنابراین خداوند نخواست که او را ببخشد.

⁴and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood: and Yahweh would not pardon.

⁴بقیه رویدادهای دوران سلطنت یَهویاقیم و کارروائی های او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا ذکر شده اند.

⁵Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

⁵بعد از آنکه یَهویاقیم فوت کرد پسرش، یَهویاقیم جانشین او شد.

⁶So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers; and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

⁶از آن ببعد پادشاه مصر دیگر برای حمله نیامد، زیرا پادشاه بابل جاهائی را که متعلق به مصر بود و از دریای فرات تا وادی مصر وسعت داشت تصرف کرده بود.

⁷The king of Egypt didn’t come again out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.

⁷یهویاکین هجده ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدت سه ماه در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. نام مادرش نَحوشطا، دختر اَلناتان و از اهالی اورشلیم بود.

⁸Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Jerusalem three months: and his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

⁸او مثل پدر خود با کارهای بد و اعمال زشت خود خداوند را ناراضی ساخت.

⁹He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that his father had done.

⁹در دوران سلطنت او سپاه بابل به اورشلیم حمله کرد و آنرا محاصره نمود.

¹⁰At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

¹⁰در وقت محاصرۀ شهر نبوکدنصر خودش به اورشلیم آمد.

¹¹Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it;

¹¹یهویاکین خود را همراه با مادر، پسران و مأمورین و همچنان کارکنان قصر شاهی به نبوکدنصر تسلیم کرد. پادشاه بابل در سال هشتم سلطنت خود او را به اسارت برد.

¹²and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

¹²پادشاه بابل همه دارائی خزانه های عبادتگاه خداوند و قصر شاهی را با خود برد. قراریکه خداوند پیشگوئی فرموده بود ظروف و آلات طلائی عبادتگاه خداوند را که سلیمان، پادشاه اسرائیل ساخته بود همه را شکست.

¹³He carried out there all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

¹³نبوکدنصر تمام ساکنین اورشلیم را با جنگجویان، مأمورین، صنعتگران و آهنگرانش که جمله ده هزار نفر بودند با خود برد و بغیر از فقیرترین مردم آنجا کس دیگری باقی نماند.

¹⁴He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, except the poorest sort of the people of the land.

¹⁴او همچنان یهویاکین، مادر، زنها و مأمورین او را با اشخاص با رسوخ قوم از اورشلیم به بابل اسیر برد.

¹⁵He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

¹⁵برعلاوه، تمام مردان جنگی را که در حدود هفت هزار نفر بودند همراه با یک هزار صنعتگر و آهنگر که در عین حال همگی در فن جنگ با تجربه و آزموده بودند، اسیر گرفت و به بابل فرستاد.

¹⁶All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

¹⁶پادشاه بابل کاکای یهویاکین، مَتَنِیا را بجای او پادشاه ساخت و نامش را به زدِقیه تبدیل کرد.

¹⁷The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king is his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

¹⁷صدقیا بیست و یک ساله بود که شروع به سلطنت کرد و مدت یازده سال در اورشلیم پادشاه بود. مادرش حموطل نام داشت. او دختر ارمیا و از اهالی لِبنَه بود.

¹⁸Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹⁸او مثل یهویاکین کارهائی کرد که خداوند را از خود ناراضی ساخت.بنابران خداوند چنان خشمگین شد که مردم اورشلیم و یهودا را از حضور خود راند. در همین وقت صدقیا برضد پادشاه بابل شورش کرد.

¹⁹He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

¹⁹بنابران خداوند چنان خشمگین شد که مردم اورشلیم و یهودا را از حضور خود راند. در همین وقت صدقیا برضد پادشاه بابل شورش کرد.

²⁰For through the anger of Yahweh, it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
