¹Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

¹در عین حال الیشع نبی یکی از انبیاء را خواست و به او گفت: «آماده شو، این بوتل روغن را بگیر و به راموت جلعاد برو.

²When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.

²وقتی به آنجا رسیدی بسراغ ییهُو، پسر یهوشافاط، نواسۀ نِمشی برو. او را به یک اطاق خلوت، جدا از همراهانش ببر.

³Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

³بعد بوتل روغن را گرفته بر سر او بریز و بگو: «من بفرمان خداوند ترا بعنوان پادشاه اسرائیل مسح می کنم.» وقتی کار تمام شد دروازه را باز کرده بدون معطلی از آنجا فرار کن.»

⁴So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.

⁴پس آن نبی جوان به راموت جلعاد رفت.

⁵When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

⁵او در حالی به آنجا رسید که ییهُو با افسران نظامی نشسته بود و جلسه داشت. نبی گفت: «آقا، من پیامی برایت دارم.» ییهُو پرسید: «برای کدامیک از ما؟» او جواب داد: «برای تو، آقا.»

⁶He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

⁶پس ییهُو برخاست به داخل خانه رفت و آن مرد جوان روغن را بر سر او ریخت و گفت: «خداوند، خدای اسرائیل چنین می فرماید: من ترا بعنوان پادشاه قوم برگزیدۀ او، یعنی اسرائیل انتخاب می کنم.

⁷You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

⁷تو باید خاندان آقایت، اخاب را از بین ببری تا من انتقام خون انبیاء و دیگر بندگانم را از ایزابل بگیرم.

⁸For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

⁸تمام خانوادۀ اخاب هلاک می گردند و مرد، زن، غلام و آزاد شان را نابود می کنم.

⁹I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

⁹خاندان اخاب را بسرنوشت خانوادۀ یَرُبعام، پسر نباط و فامیل بعشا، پسر اخیا گرفتار می سازم.

¹⁰The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.

¹⁰گوشت بدن ایزابل را در سرزمین یِزرعیل سگها می خورند و کسی او را دفن نمی کند.» نبی جوان این را گفت و دروازه را باز کرد و گریخت.

¹¹Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”

¹¹ییهُو پیش مأمورین شاه برگشت و یکی از آن ها پرسید: «خیریت بود؟ آن مرد دیوانه برای چه پیش تو آمد؟» او جواب داد: «شما خوب می دانید که او چه کسی بود و چه می خواست.»

¹²They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

¹²آن ها گفتند: «نی، ما نمی دانیم. بگو که او چه گفت!» ییهُو جواب داد: «او به من گفت که خداوند فرموده است: من ترا بعنوان پادشاه اسرائیل مسح می کنم.»

¹³Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

¹³آنگاه همگی فوراً ردا های خود را گرفته برای او بر سر زینه هموار کردند و سرنا را نواخته اعلام نمودند: «ییهُو پادشاه است!»

¹⁴So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

¹⁴بعد ییهُو، پسر یهوشافاط، نواسۀ نِمشی برضد یُورام توطئه کرد. یُورام و همه مردم اسرائیل با حَزایل، پادشاه ارام در یِزرعیل در حال جنگ بودند.

¹⁵but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”

¹⁵و چون یُورام در جنگ با حَزایل، پادشاه ارامیان زخمی شده بود، به یِزرعیل برای تداوی برگشته بود. پس ییهُو به همکاران خود گفت: «اگر می خواهید که من پادشاه شما باشم، پس نباید به کسی اجازه بدهید که از این شهر بیرون برود و این خبر را در یِزرعیل برساند.»

¹⁶So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

¹⁶بعد ییهُو بر عرادۀ خود سوار شد و به یِزرعیل، جائیکه یُورام بستری بود رفت. در همان وقت اخزیا، پادشاه یهودا هم به عیادت یُورام آمده بود.

¹⁷Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

¹⁷یکی از پهره دارانی که بالای برج یِزرعیل ایستاده بود، ییهُو و همراهانش را دید که به شهر نزدیک می شوند. او گفت: «یک تعداد مردم را می بینم که به این طرف می آیند.» یُورام جواب داد: «سواری را بفرست و معلوم کن که آن ها دوست هستند یا دشمن.»

¹⁸So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

¹⁸پس قاصدی به استقبال آن ها رفت و گفت: «پادشاه می خواهد بداند که آیا شما دوست ما هستید یا دشمن ما و آیا برای صلح آمده اید؟» ییهُو جواب داد: «تو معنی صلح را چه می دانی. بیا بدنبال من.» پهره دار به یُورام خبر داد که قاصد رفت، اما برنگشت.

¹⁹Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”

¹⁹یُورام گفت: «یک نفر دیگر را بفرست.» او رفت و از ییهُو همان سوال را کرد. ییهُو به او هم همان جواب را داد و گفت: «تو معنی صلح را چه می دانی. بدنبال من بیا.»

²⁰The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”

²⁰پهره دار باز گفت: «قاصد پیش آن ها رسید، اما بر نمی گردد.» او اضافه کرد: «آن شخص مثلیکه ییهُو، پسر نِمشی باشد، زیرا که دیوانه وار می راند.»

²¹Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

²¹یُورام گفت: «عرادۀ مرا آماده کنید.» آن ها عراده را آوردند. یُورام و اخزیا هرکدام بر عرادۀ خود سوار شد و به استقبال ییهُو رفتند. آن ها با او در مزرعه ای که متعلق به نابوت یِزرعیلی بود بر خوردند.

²²It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

²²وقتی یُورام او را دید، از او پرسید: «آیا به اینجا از روی دوستی آمده ای؟» او جواب داد: «تا زمانیکه بت پرستی و جادوگری مادرت، ایزابل دوام داشته باشد، دوستی و صلح بین ما امکان ندارد.»

²³Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”

²³یُورام به اخزیا گفت: «خیانت را می بینی، اخزیا!» این را گفته عرادۀ خود را برگرداند و فرار کرد.

²⁴Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

²⁴ییهُو کمان خود را کشید و با تمام قوت تیری را پرتاب کرد. تیر در پشت یُورام فرو رفت و قلبش را شگافت. یُورام در عرادۀ خود افتاد و جان داد.

²⁵Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:

²⁵ییهُو به معاون خود، بِدقَر گفت: «او را بردار و در مزرعۀ نابوت یِزرعیلی بینداز. بیاد داری که وقتی هردوی ما بدنبال اخاب، پدر یُورام عراده می راندیم، خداوند دربارۀ او چنین فرمود:

²⁶‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”

²⁶«من دیروز دیدم که نابوت و پسرانش چطور کشته شدند، بنابران عهد می کنم که ترا در همان مزرعه به جزای اعمالت برسانم.» پس او را بردار و در آنجا بینداز تا وعدۀ خداوند عملی شود.»

²⁷But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.

²⁷وقتی اخزیا، پادشاه یهودا آن واقعه را دید بسوی بیت هگان فرار کرد. ییهُو به تعقیب او رفت و امر کرد که او را هم بکشند. آن ها او را در نزدیکی شهر یِبلعام، در جاده ای که بطرف جور می رفت زخمی کردند. او توانست خود را تا مِجِدو برساند و بعد در همانجا مُرد.

²⁸His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.

²⁸مأمورینش جنازۀ او را بر عراده ای بار کرده به اورشلیم بردند و در مقبرۀ آبائی اش، در شهر داود بخاک سپردند.

²⁹In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

²⁹اخزیا در سال یازدهم سلطنت یُورام، پسر اخاب، در یهودا به پادشاهی شروع کرده بود.

³⁰When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.

³⁰وقتی ییهُو به یِزرعیل رسید و ایزابل از واقعه خبر شد، چشمهای خود را سُرمه کرد و موهای خود را آراست و از کلکین قصر خود به تماشای بیرون پرداخت.

³¹As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

³¹چون ییهُو به دروازۀ شهر داخل شد، ایزابل صدا کرد: «ای زِمری، تو بسلامت رسیدی، ای قاتل پادشاه؟»

³²He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

³²ییهُو به بالا نگاه کرد و گفت: «طرفدار من کیست؟» دو سه نفر از مأمورین قصر از بالا ییهُو را دیدند،

³³He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.

³³ییهُو به آن ها گفت: «او را پائین بیندازید.» پس آن ها ایزابل را پائین انداختند و خون او بر دیوار و اسپهای که او را پایمال کردند پاشان شد.

³⁴When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”

³⁴بعد ییهُو به داخل قصر رفت و غذا خورد و گفت: «آن زن لعنتی را ببرید و دفن کنید، چون او دختر پادشاه است.»

³⁵They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

³⁵اما وقتی آمدند که او را ببرند تنها کاسۀ سر، پاها و کف دستش را یافتند.

³⁶Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

³⁶آن ها برگشتند و به ییهُو اطلاع دادند. ییهُو گفت: «خداوند بوسیلۀ خدمتگار خود، اِیلیای تِشبی پیشگوئی نموده و فرموده بود: جسد ایزابل را در سرزمین یِزرعیل سگها می خورندو اجزای بدن او مثل سرگین بروی زمین پراگنده می شوند که هیچ کس او را شناخته نمی تواند.»

³⁷and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”

³⁷و اجزای بدن او مثل سرگین بروی زمین پراگنده می شوند که هیچ کس او را شناخته نمی تواند.»
