1It happened after this, that Absalom prepared him a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
1بعد ابشالوم یک گادی و چند اسپ خرید و پنجاه شاطر را استخدام کرد که پیشاپیش او بدوند.
2Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate. It was so, that when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called to him, and said, “What city are you from?” He said, “Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.”
2او هر روز، صبح وقت از خواب بیدار می شد و می رفت و به دروازۀ شهر می ایستاد. هر کسیکه شکایتی می داشت یا برای فیصلۀ دعوای خود پیش شاه می رفت،
3Absalom said to him, “Behold, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputized by the king to hear you.”
3ابشالوم او را می خواست و می پرسید: «از کدام شهر هستی؟» و اگر او می گفت که از فلان قبیلۀ اسرائیل است، ابشالوم به او می گفت: «دعوای تو صحیح و بجا است، اما کسی نیست که با تو کمک کند تا پادشاه عرض ترا بشنود.»
4Absalom said moreover, “Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who has any suit or cause might come to me, and I would do him justice!”
4و می گفت: «کاشکی من قاضی می بودم و آنوقت هر کسی دعوائی می داشت پیش من می آمد و من از روی عدل و انصاف به دعوای او رسیدگی می کردم.»
5It was so, that when any man came near to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him.
5هر وقتیکه شخصی به او نزدیک می شد و احترام می کرد، ابشالوم با او دست می داد و او را می بوسید.
6Absalom did this sort of thing to all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
6به این ترتیب، ابشالوم با همه مردم اسرائیل که برای شکایت و فیصلۀ دعوای خود بحضور شاه می آمد، چنین رفتار می کرد و دل همۀ مردم را به دست آورد.
7It happened at the end of forty years, that Absalom said to the king, “Please let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed to Yahweh, in Hebron.
7بعد از چهار سال ابشالوم به پادشاه گفت: «خواهش می کنم که به من اجازه بدهی تا به حبرون بروم و نذری را که بنام خداوند بگردن گرفته ام ادا کنم. زیرا وقتی در جشور بودم نذر گرفتم که اگر خداوند مرا دوباره به اورشلیم ببرد، به حبرون می روم و خداوند را پرستش می کنم.»
8For your servant vowed a vow while I stayed at Geshur in Syria, saying, ‘If Yahweh shall indeed bring me again to Jerusalem, then I will serve Yahweh.’”
8پادشاه گفت: «برو، خدا نگهدارت.» پس ابشالوم به حبرون رفت.
9The king said to him, “Go in peace.” So he arose, and went to Hebron.
9اما در عین زمان قاصدانی را به تمام قبایل اسرائیل با این پیام فرستاد: «بمجردیکه آواز سرنا را شنیدید، بگوئید: ابشالوم پادشاه حبرون است.»
10But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say, ‘Absalom is king in Hebron!’”
10و آن دوصد نفری را که از اورشلیم دعوت کرده بود با خود برد. آن ها با دل صاف با او رفتند، اما از منظور او خبر نداشتند.
11Two hundred men went with Absalom out of Jerusalem, who were invited, and went in their simplicity; and they didn’t know anything.
11هنگام ادای نذر، ابشالوم اخیتوفل جیلونی را که مشاور داود بود از شهر جیلوه پیش خود خواست و او به ابشالوم بیعت داد. به این ترتیب، دسیسه دامنه دار شد و به تعداد طرفداران ابشالوم افزود.
12Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. The conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.
12کسی برای داود به اورشلیم خبر آورده گفت: «همۀ مردم اسرائیل بر ضد تو با ابشالوم همدست شده اند.»
13A messenger came to David, saying, “The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.”
13آنگاه داود به تمام مردانیکه با او در اورشلیم بودند، گفت: «عجله کنید که هرچه زودتر فرار کنیم، ورنه فرصت از دست می رود و راه فرار از دست ابشالوم برای ما نخواهد بود. فوراً از اینجا برویم، مبدا او ناگهان به اینجا برسد، بلائی بسر ما بیاورد و همه را با شمشیر بکشد.»
14David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, “Arise, and let us flee; for else none of us shall escape from Absalom. Make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil on us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”
14مردانش به او گفتند: «ما برای اجرای هر امر و خدمتی حاضر و آماده ایم.»
15The king’s servants said to the king, “Behold, your servants are ready to do whatever my lord the king chooses.”
15پس پادشاه و خانواده اش براه افتادند، اما داود ده نفر از زنهای خود را برای نگهداری خانه همانجا گذاشت.
16The king went forth, and all his household after him. The king left ten women, who were concubines, to keep the house.
16آن ها همه رفتند و بعد از طی یک مسافۀ طولانی داود توقف کرد در آخرین خانه منزل کردند.
17The king went forth, and all the people after him; and they stayed in Beth Merhak.
17تمام کسانیکه با او بودند همراه با ششصد نفر از مردم جَت که از کریتی و فلیتی بدنبال او آمده بودند، از پیش او گذشتند.
18All his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.
18بعد پادشاه متوجه شد که اتای جتی هم در آنجا است. از او پرسید: «تو چرا همراه ما آمدی؟ با همراهانت به اورشلیم پیش پادشاه ابشالوم برو. زیرا که تو یک بیگانه و جلای وطن هستی.
19Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why do you also go with us? Return, and stay with the king; for you are a foreigner, and also an exile. Return to your own place.
19دیروز بود که آمدی و امروز ترا باز با خود آواره سازم؟ خدا می داند که سرنوشت مرا بکجا خواهد برد. پس برگرد و همراهانت را هم با خود ببر. رحمت و شفقت خداوند بدرقۀ راهت باد.»
20Whereas you came but yesterday, should I this day make you go up and down with us, since I go where I may? Return, and take back your brothers. Mercy and truth be with you.”
20اما اتای به پادشاه گفت: «به نام خداوند و بسر شما قسم است که بهر جائیکه بروی از تو جدا نمی شوم ـ چه در مرگ و چه در زندگی.»
21Ittai answered the king, and said, “As Yahweh lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king shall is, whether for death or for life, even there also will your servant be.”
21پادشاه گفت: «خوب، حالا براه بیفت و برو.» آنگاه اتای با همه همراهان و اطفال شان از پیش پادشاه گذشتند.
22David said to Ittai, “Go and pass over.” Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones who were with him.
22همگی در حالیکه با آواز بلند گریه می کردند، همراه با پادشاه از دریای قِدرون عبور کردند و بطرف بیابان براه افتادند.
23All the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
23آنگاه ابیاتار، صادوق و همه لاویان صندوق پیمان خداوند را در کنار جاده قرار دادند تا تمام مردم از شهر خارج شدند.
24Behold, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people finished passing out of the city.
24بعد پادشاه به صادوق گفت: «صندوق پیمان خداوند را دوباره به شهر ببر و اگر خداوند به من لطف کند، البته مرا واپس به اینجا می آورد تا دوباره جای آنرا ببینم.
25The king said to Zadok, “Carry back the ark of God into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of Yahweh, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation;
25و اگر بگوید: «من از تو ناراضی هستم.» آنوقت هرچه می خواهد بسرم بیاورد.»
26but if he say thus, ‘I have no delight in you;’ behold, here am I. Let him do to me as seems good to him.”
26بعد شاه به صادوق گفت: «تو هم به سلامتی به شهر برگرد و پسرت اخیمعص و یُوناتان پسر ابیاتار را هم با خود ببر.
27The king said also to Zadok the priest, “Aren’t you a seer? Return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz your son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
27من در گذرگاه بیابان منتظر پیام تو می باشم که مرا از چگونگی اوضاع اورشلیم آگاه کنی.»
28Behold, I will stay at the fords of the wilderness, until word comes from you to inform me.”
28پس صادوق و ابیاتار صندوق خداوند را دوباره به اورشلیم بردند و خود شان هم در آنجا ماندند.
29Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem; and they stayed there.
29داود در حالیکه گریه می کرد، پای برهنه و سر پوشیده به کوه زیتون بالا شد. همه همراهان او هم سرهای خود را پوشانده بودند و به دنبال او می رفتند و می گریستند.
30David went up by the ascent of the Mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot: and all the people who were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.
30وقتی کسی به داود خبر داد که اخیتوفل، مشاور او با ابشالوم همدست شده است، گفت: «پیش خداوند دعا می کنم که اخیتوفل مشورۀ احمقانه ای به ابشالوم بدهد.»
31Someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” David said, “Yahweh, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”
31چون داود به بالای کوه، به جائی رسید که مردم برای عبادت جمع شده بودند، حوشای ارکی با جامۀ دریده و خاک بسر منتظر او بود.
32It happened that when David had come to the top, where God was worshiped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat torn, and earth on his head.
32داود به او گفت: «اگر با من بروی بغیر اینکه بار گردنم شوی کدام فایدۀ دیگر ندارد
33David said to him, “If you pass on with me, then you will be a burden to me;
33و اگر به اورشلیم برگردی و به ابشالوم بگوئی: «ای پادشاه، طوریکه مشاور پدرت بودم می خواهم همین وظیفه را برای تو انجام بدهم.» در آنصورت به من کمک می کنی که ابشالوم مشورۀ اخیتوفل را باطل و بی معنی دانسته آنرا قبول نکند.
34but if you return to the city, and tell Absalom, ‘I will be your servant, O king. As I have been your father’s servant in time past, so will I now be your servant; then will you defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel.’
34صادوق و ابیاتار و پسران شان، اخیمعص و یُوناتان هم آنجا هستند. هر چیزیکه از خاندان شاه شنیدی به دست آن ها برایم احوال بده.»پس حوشای، دوست داود روانۀ شهر شد و در همان وقتیکه ابشالوم وارد اورشلیم شد او هم به آنجا رسید.
35Don’t you have Zadok and Abiathar the priests there with you? Therefore it shall be, that whatever thing you shall hear out of the king’s house, you shall tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.
35پس حوشای، دوست داود روانۀ شهر شد و در همان وقتیکه ابشالوم وارد اورشلیم شد او هم به آنجا رسید.
36Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son, and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son; and by them you shall send to me everything that you shall hear.”
37So Hushai, David’s friend, came into the city; and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
