1When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
1داود از جائیکه مردم عبادت می کردند، اندکی دور شده بود که صیبا، خادم مفیبوشت با یک جوره خرِ زین شده به استقبال او آمد. بسر خرها دوصد تا نان، یکصد کیک کشمشی، یکصد کیک انجیر و یک مشک شراب بار بود.
2The king said to Ziba, What do you mean by these? Ziba said, The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.
2پادشاه از صیبا پرسید: «اینها را برای چه آوردی؟» صیبا جواب داد: «خرها را برای آن آوردم تا خانوادۀ شاه از آن ها برای سواری استفاده کنند. نان انجیر را برای خادمان و شراب را برای رفع تشنگی و خستگی تان آورده ام.»
3The king said, “Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”
3پادشاه از صیبا پرسید: «مفیبوشت، نواسۀ آقایت شائول کجا است؟» صیبا جواب داد: «او هنوز در اورشلیم است. به من گفت که امروز سلطنت پدر کلانش، شائول را دوباره به دست می آورد و خودش پادشاه می شود.»
4Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that pertains to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I do obeisance. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”
4پادشاه گفت: «پس در اینصورت همه چیزی را که به او متعلق است به تو می دهم.» صیبا گفت: «ای آقای من، من غلام شما هستم، لطف تان از سر من کم مباد!»
5When king David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of the house of Saul came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out, and cursed still as he came.
5وقتی داود به بحوریم رسید، شخصی از خانوادۀ شائول بنام شمعی، پسر جیرا بسر راه شان آمد، دشنام داد
6He cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
6و بطرف داود پادشاه، خادمان، مأمورین و دلاورانیکه بدور او بودند سنگ انداخت
7Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and base fellow!
7و گفت: «از اینجا دور شو، ای قاتل! ای جنایتکار!
8Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned! Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”
8خداوند انتقام خون خاندان شائول را که تو بجایش پادشاه شدی از تو گرفت. ترا از سلطنت برطرف کرد و پسرت ابشالوم را جانشینت ساخت. چونکه می گویند: «سر بد به بلای بد.» ای آدمکش، بالاخره به سزایت رسیدی!»
9Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”
9آنگاه ابیشای پسر زِرویه پیش آمد و به پادشاه گفت: «چطور اجازه می دهی که این سگ مرده به آقای من، پادشاه دشنام بدهد؟ می خواهی که بروم و سرش را از تن جدا کنم؟»
10The king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him, ‘Curse David;’ who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’”
10اما پادشاه گفت: «به شما پسران زِرویه چه بگویم؟ بگذارید دشنامم بدهد، زیرا خداوند به او گفته است که به من دشنام بدهد. پس چه کسی می تواند به او بگوید که چرا این کار را می کنی؟»
11David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.
11بعد داود به ابیشای و همه خادمان خود گفت: «پسر خودم که رگ و خون من است، قصد کشتن مرا دارد، پس تعجب نکنید اگر این بنیامینی زیادتر دشنامم می دهد. بگذارید دشنامم بدهد، زیرا ارادۀ خداوند همین است.
12It may be that Yahweh will look on the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
12شاید خداوند مصیبت مرا ببیند و بخاطر این دشنامها، اجر و برکت به من بدهد.»
13So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him, and cursed as he went, threw stones at him, and threw dust.
13داود و همراهان او براه خود ادامه دادند و شمعی هم در حالیکه دشنام می داد و بطرف داود سنگ می انداخت و خاکها را باد می کرد، به جهت مخالف بسوی کوه رفت.
14The king, and all the people who were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
14پادشاه و همه کسانیکه با او بودند، خسته و مانده به کنار دریای اُردن رسیدند و استراحت کردند.
15Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
15ابشالوم و پیروان او همراه با اخیتوفل به اورشلیم آمدند.
16It happened, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
16وقتی حوشای ارکی، دوست داود پیش ابشالوم آمد، به او گفت: «زنده باد پادشاه! زنده باد پادشاه!»
17Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”
17ابشالوم از حوشای پرسید: «آیا وفاداری خود را به دوستت به این ترتیب نشان می دهی؟ چرا همراه رفیقت نرفتی؟»
18Hushai said to Absalom, “No; but whomever Yahweh, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him I will stay.
18حوشای جواب داد: «من خدمتگار کسی می باشم و پیش آن شخصی می مانم که از طرف خداوند و اکثریت مردم اسرائیل انتخاب شده باشد.
19Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so will I be in your presence.”
19از طرف دیگر، چون در خدمت پدرت بودم می خواهم در خدمت تو هم باشم.»
20Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel what we shall do.”
20آنگاه ابشالوم از اخیتوفل پرسید: «تو به من مشوره بده که دیگر چه کنم؟»
21Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines, that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”
21اخیتوفل گفت: «برو با همه زنهای پدرت که از خانه اش نگهداری می کنند همبستر شو. آنوقت همۀ مردم اسرائیل می دانند که تو در نظر پدرت منفور شده ای و در نتیجه زیادتر از تو پشتیبانی می کنند.»
22So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
22پس خیمه ای برای ابشالوم بسر بام برپا کردند و ابشالوم در حالیکه همه مردم اسرائیل تماشا می کردند با همه زنهای پدر خود همبستر شد.به این ترتیب، هر مشوره ایکه اخیتوفل می داد، ابشالوم مثل داود آنرا قبول می کرد و در نظر او آنقدر عاقلانه می بود که گوئی کلام خدا است.
23The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
23به این ترتیب، هر مشوره ایکه اخیتوفل می داد، ابشالوم مثل داود آنرا قبول می کرد و در نظر او آنقدر عاقلانه می بود که گوئی کلام خدا است.
