¹In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

¹در سال سوم سلطنت کورش، پادشاه فارس، دانیال که بِلطشزر هم نامیده می شد، رؤیای دیگری دید و تعبیر آن به او آشکار شد. این رؤیا حقيقت داشت و‎ ‎دربارۀ یک جنگ بزرگ بود که در آینده رخ می داد.

²In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.

²من، دانیال، وقتی این رؤیا را دیدم، سه هفته ماتم گرفتم.

³I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.

³در این مدت نه غذاى لذيذ خوردم و نه لب به گوشت و شراب زدم و نه سر خود را چرب و شانه کردم.

⁴In the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,

⁴در روز بیست و چهارم ماه اول سال، در کنار دریای بزرگ دجله ایستاده بودم.

⁵I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, whose thighs were adorned with pure gold of Uphaz:

⁵وقتی به بالا نگاه کردم، ناگهان مردی را دیدم که لباس سفید کتانی پوشیده و کمربندی از طلای نفیس به کمر بسته بود. بدن او مثل گوهر می درخشید، رویش برق می زد و چشمانش بسان شعله های آتش بودند و بازوها و پاهایش مانند برنج صیقلی شده و صدایش شبیه غوغای گروه های بیشمار مردم بود.

⁶his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

⁶از آن عده ای که در آنجا ایستاده بودیم، تنها من آن رؤیا را دیدم. همراهان من آنقدر ترسیدند که پا به فرار گذاشتند و خود را پنهان کردند.

⁷I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; for the men who were with me didn’t see the vision; but a great quaking fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves.

⁷من تنها ماندم و به آن رؤیای عجیب نگاه می کردم. رنگم پریده بود و تاب و توان نداشتم.

⁸So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

⁸وقتی آن مرد با من سخن گفت، من رو بخاک افتادم و بیهوش شدم.

⁹Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.

⁹اما دستی مرا لمس نمود و مرا بر دستها و زانوانم بلند کرد.

¹⁰Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.

¹⁰فرشته به من گفت: «ای دانیال، ای مرد بسیار عزیز خدا، برخیز و به آنچه که می خواهم به تو بگویم با دقت گوش بده! زیرا برای همین پیش تو فرستاده شده ام.» آنگاه در حالیکه هنوز می لرزیدم، بپا ایستادم.

¹¹He said to me, Daniel, you man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright; for am I now sent to you. When he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.

¹¹بعد به من گفت: «ای دانیال، نترس! زیرا از همان روز اول که در حضور خدای خود روزه گرفتی و از او خواستی که به تو دانش و فهم بدهد، درخواست تو قبول شد و خدا همان روز مرا پیش تو فرستاد.

¹²Then he said to me, Don’t be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard: and I have come for your words’ sake.

¹²اما فرشته ای که بر کشور فارس حکمرانی می کند، بیست و یک روز با من مقاومت نمود و مانع آمدن من شد. سرانجام میکائیل که یکی از فرشتگان مقرب است، به کمک من آمد

¹³But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but, behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me: and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

¹³و من توانستم به اینجا بیایم و به تو بگویم که در آینده برای قومت چه حادثه ای رخ می دهد، زیرا این رؤیا را که دیدی مربوط به آینده است.»

¹⁴Now I have come to make you understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days; for the vision is yet for many days:

¹⁴در تمام این مدت سرم را بزیر انداخته و گنگ بودم.

¹⁵and when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was mute.

¹⁵آنگاه آن قاصدی که شبیه انسان بود، لبهایم را لمس کرد تا بتوانم حرف بزنم. من به او گفتم: «ای آقای من، این رؤیا مرا بقدری ترسانده است که دیگر تاب و توان در من نمانده است.

¹⁶Behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, my lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows are turned on me, and I retain no strength.

¹⁶پس چگونه می توانم با تو حرف بزنم؟ قوّت من تمام شده است و بسختی نفس می کشم.»

¹⁷For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.

¹⁷او دوباره مرا لمس کرد و من قوّت یافتم.

¹⁸Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me.

¹⁸او گفت: «ای مرد بسیار عزیز خدا، نترس و تشویش نکن!» وقتی این را گفت، قوّت یافتم و به او گفتم: «ای آقای من، حالا حرف بزن زیرا تو به من نیرو بخشیدی.»او گفت: «می دانی چرا پیش تو آمده ام؟ من آمده ام تا بگویم که در کتاب حق چه نوشته شده است. وقتی از پیش تو باز گردم، به جنگ فرشته ای که بر کشور فارس حکومت می کند، می روم و سپس با فرشته ای که حکمروای یونان است، می جنگم.

¹⁹He said, “Greatly beloved man, don’t be afraid: peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me.”

¹⁹او گفت: «می دانی چرا پیش تو آمده ام؟ من آمده ام تا بگویم که در کتاب حق چه نوشته شده است. وقتی از پیش تو باز گردم، به جنگ فرشته ای که بر کشور فارس حکومت می کند، می روم و سپس با فرشته ای که حکمروای یونان است، می جنگم.

²⁰Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia. When I go forth, behold, the prince of Greece shall come.

²¹But I will tell you that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your prince.”
