¹In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans,

¹در سال اول سلطنت داریوش مادی ـ پسر خشایار شاه ـ که بر کلدانیان حکومت می کرد

²in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years about which the word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. came to Jeremiah the prophet, for the accomplishing of the desolations of Jerusalem, even seventy years.

²من، دانیال، وقتی کلام خداوند را خواندم، فهمیدم که طبق کلامی که خداوند به ارمیا گفته بود، اورشلیم می بایست مدت هفتاد سال ویران باقی بماند.

³I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and petitions, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

³پس بحضور خداوند دعا و زاری کردم، روزه گرفتم و نمد پوشیدم، خاکستر بر سرم ریختم

⁴I prayed to Yahweh my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,

⁴و نزد خداوند، خدای خود دعا کردم و به گناهان خود اعتراف نموده گفتم: «ای خداوند، تو خدای بزرگ و با هیبت هستی. تو همیشه به پیمان مقدست وفا می کنی و به کسانی که ترا دوست دارند و از اوامر تو اطاعت می کنند، رحمت نشان می دهی.

⁵we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances;

⁵اما ما گناهکاریم و شرارت و تمرد کرده ایم. ما خطاکاریم و از احکام تو سرپیچی کرده ایم.

⁶neither have we listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

⁶به سخنان بندگانت، انبیاء که پیام ترا به پادشاهان، بزرگان، پدران و مردم ما رساندند، گوش ندادیم.

⁷Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.

⁷ای خداوند، تو عادلی و ما شرمنده هستیم. ما مردم یهودا و اهالی اورشلیم و تمام اسرائیل بخاطر خیانتی که به تو کرده ایم، در کشورهای دور و نزدیک پراگنده شده ایم.

⁸Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.

⁸بلی، ای خداوند، ما و پادشاهان و بزرگان و پدران ما رسوا شده ایم، زیرا به تو گناه کرده ایم.

⁹To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him;

⁹اما تو خدای بخشنده و مهربان هستی و کسانی را که به تو گناه کرده اند، می بخشی.

¹⁰neither have we obeyed the voice of Yahweh our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

¹⁰ای خداوند، خدای ما، ما به کلام تو توجه نکرده ایم و مطابق احکامت که بوسیلۀ بندگانت، انبیاء به ما دادی، رفتار ننموده ایم.

¹¹Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, turning aside, that they should not obey your voice: therefore the curse and the oath written in the law of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us; for we have sinned against him.

¹¹بلی، تمام اسراييل از شريعت تو تجاوز کرده رو گردان شده اند و‏ همۀ ما در حضور تو گناهکاریم و به همین خاطر لعنت هائی که در کتاب توراتِ بنده ات، موسی ذکر شده، بر سر ما آمده اند.

¹²He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky, such has not been done as has been done to Jerusalem.

¹²هر چیزی که دربارۀ ما و رهبران ما گفته بودی عملی شدند. آن بلای عظیمی که در اورشلیم بر سر ما آمد، در هیچ جای دنیا دیده نشده است.

¹³As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come on us: yet have we not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in your truth.

¹³این بلا طبق نوشتۀ تورات موسی گریبانگیر ما شد، اما باوجود این باز هم نخواستیم که از گناهان خود دست بکشیم و آنچه را که راست و درست است بجا آوریم تا تو از ما راضی شوی.

¹⁴Therefore has Yahweh watched over the evil, and brought it on us; for Yahweh our God is righteous in all his works which he does, and we have not obeyed his voice.

¹⁴بنابران تو که ناظر اعمال ما بودی، آن بلا را بر سر ما آوردی، زیرا تو ای خداوند، خدای ما، همیشه عادلانه عمل می کنی، اما باوجود این، ما باز هم به کلام تو گوش ندادیم.

¹⁵Now, Lord our God, who has brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have gotten yourself renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

¹⁵ای خداوند، خدای ما، تو با قدرت خود قوم برگزیده ات را از مصر بیرون آوردی و چنانکه امروز می بینیم نام تو در بین اقوام مشهور شده است. هرچند ما گناه کرده ایم و پُر از شرارت هستیم،

¹⁶Lord, according to all your righteousness, let your anger and please let your wrath be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

¹⁶اما ای خداوند، التماس می کنیم که چون در گذشته از ما دفاع کرده ای، پس حالا هم خشم و غضبت را بر اورشلیم و کوه مقدس خود میاور، زیرا قوم برگزیدۀ تو و شهر تو به سبب گناهان ما و شرارت پدران ما مورد تمسخر همسایگان واقع شده اند.

¹⁷Now therefore, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant, and to his petitions, and cause your face to shine on your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.

¹⁷ای خدای ما، دعای بنده ات را بشنو! به زاری ما گوش بده! بخاطر نامت که خداوند است، بر عبادتگاهت که ویران شده است نظر لطف بینداز!

¹⁸My God, turn your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and see our desolations, and the city which is called by your name: for we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercies’ sake.

¹⁸ای خدای من، گوش بده و دعای ما را بشنو! چشمانت را باز کن و خرابی شهری را که نامت را بر خود دارد، ببین. ما به سبب رحمت عظیمت از تو این درخواست را می کنیم، نه بخاطر اینکه ما مردمان نیک هستیم.

¹⁹Lord, hear; Lord, forgive; Lord, listen and do; don’t defer, for your own sake, my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.

¹⁹ای خداوند، دعای ما را بشنو و گناهان ما را ببخش. ای خداوند، به تقاضای ما گوش بده و عمل کن، و بخاطر خودت ای خدای من، معطل نشو، زیرا نام تو بر این قوم و بر این شهر می باشد.»

²⁰While I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before Yahweh my God for the holy mountain of my God;

²⁰در حالیکه مشغول دعا بودم و به گناهان خود و گناهان قوم اسرائیل اقرار می نمودم و بحضور خداوند، خدایم برای کوه مقدس سهیون التماس می کردم،

²¹yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening offering.

²¹جبرائیل که او را قبلاً در خواب دیده بودم، با سرعت پرواز کرد و هنگام قربانی شام پیش من آمد

²²He instructed me, and talked with me, and said, Daniel, I am now come forth to give you wisdom and understanding.

²²و به من گفت: «ای دانیال، من آمده ام که به تو دانش و فهم ببخشم تا این اسرار را فهمیده بتوانی.

²³At the beginning of your petitions the commandment went forth, and I have come to tell you; for you are greatly beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision.

²³در همان لحظه ای که مشغول دعا شدی، به دعای تو جواب داده شد و من آمده ام تا ترا از آن آگاه سازم، زیرا خدا ترا بسیار دوست دارد. پس حالا توجه کن تا آنچه را که در مورد خوابت می گویم، بفهمی.

²⁴Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

²⁴به امر خدا برای قوم تو و شهر مقدس تو هفتاد هفته طول می کشد تا فساد و شرارت از بین برود، کفارۀ گناهان داده شود، عدالت ابدی برقرار گردد، عبادتگاه خداوند دوباره تقدیس شود و به این ترتیب رؤیاها و پیشگوئی ها تحقق یابند.

²⁵Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Anointed One, “Anointed One” can also be translated “Messiah” (same as “Christ”). the prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times.

²⁵بدان و آگاه باش که از زمان صدور فرمان اعمار مجدد اورشلیم تا ظهور پیشوای برگزیدۀ خدا، هفت هفته و شصت و دو هفته طول می کشد و با وجود این اوضاع بحرانی، اورشلیم با جاده ها و دیوارهایش آباد می شود.

²⁶After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One “Anointed One” can also be translated “Messiah” (same as “Christ”). shall be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and its end shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; desolations are determined.

²⁶پس از آن شصت و دو هفته، آن پیشوای برگزیده کشته می شود، اما نه بخاطر خودش. بعد پادشاهی همراه لشکر خود اورشلیم و عبادتگاه را ویران می کند. آخر زمان مثل طوفان فرا می رسد و جنگ و خرابی ها را که تعیین شده، با خود می آورد.این پادشاه با اشخاص زیادی پیمان یک هفته ای می بندد، اما وقتی نصف این مدت بگذرد، مانع تقدیم قربانیها و هدایا می شود. بعد این مکروه ویرانگر، عبادتگاه را نجس می سازد، ولی سرانجام آن چیزی که برای او تعیین شده بر سرش می آید.»

²⁷He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out on the desolate.

²⁷این پادشاه با اشخاص زیادی پیمان یک هفته ای می بندد، اما وقتی نصف این مدت بگذرد، مانع تقدیم قربانیها و هدایا می شود. بعد این مکروه ویرانگر، عبادتگاه را نجس می سازد، ولی سرانجام آن چیزی که برای او تعیین شده بر سرش می آید.»
