1Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits, and its breadth six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
1نبوکدنصر پادشاه، مجسمۀ طلائی ساخت که بیست و هفت متر طول آن بود و در حدود سه متر عرض داشت. او آن مجسمه را در دشت «دورا» در ولایت بابل نصب کرد.
2Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
2بعد از آن پادشاه فرمان داد تا همۀ شاهزادگان، والی ها، فرماندهان، مشاوران، فرمانداران، وکلا، خزانه داران و تمام بزرگان هر ولایت برای تقدیس مجسمه ای که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب کرده است جمع شوند.
3Then the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
3وقتی همۀ این بزرگان دور هم جمع شدند و برای تقدیس در مقابل مجسمه ایستادند،
4Then the herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, peoples, nations, and languages,
4جارچی با صدای بلند اعلام کرد: «ای مردم، شما از هر قبیله و هر ملت و زبان به این فرمان گوش کنید،
5that whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up;
5وقتی صدای توله و سرنا و چنگ و سنتور و هر نوع آلات موسیقی را بشنوید باید در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب کرده بخاک بیفتید و آنرا سجده و پرستش کنید.
6and whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
6و هر کس که سجده و پرستش نکند فوراً در کوره آتش انداخته خواهد شد.»
7Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
7پس همۀ مردم، از هر قبیله و زبان، وقتی نوای موسیقی را شنیدند در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب کرده بود بخاک افتادند و آنرا سجده و پرستش نمودند.
8Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and brought accusation against the Jews.
8بعضی از بابلی ها از این فرصت استفاده کرده بر علیه یهودیان شکایت نمودند.
9They answered Nebuchadnezzar the king, O king, live for ever.
9آن ها به پادشاه خود، یعنی نبوکدنصر گفتند: «زندگی پادشاه دراز باد!
10You, O king, have made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image;
10شما فرمان دادید همینکه سازها به صدا در آیند، همۀ مردم در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی به خاک بیفتند و آنرا سجده و پرستش نمایند
11and whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
11و هر کسی که به خاک نیفتد و مجسمه را سجده و پرستش نکند در کورۀ آتش انداخته شود.
12There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not respected you. They don’t serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.
12چند نفر یهودی هستند که شما آن ها را به حکومت بابل منصوب کرده اید، یعنی شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو. آن ها فرمان شما را، ای پادشاه، اطاعت نکرده خدایان شما را عبادت نمی کنند و در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی که به فرمان شما نصب شده، سجده و پرستش نمی نمایند.»
13Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
13پادشاه خشمگین شد و فرمان داد تا شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو را به حضور او آوردند.
14Nebuchadnezzar answered them, Is it on purpose, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my god, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
14آنوقت به آن ها گفت: «ای شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو، آیا این درست است که شما خدایان مرا عبادت نمی کنید و در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی که من نصب کرده ام سجده و پرستش نمی نمائید؟
15Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, well: but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands?
15پس حالا همینکه صدای توله و سرنا و عود و سنتور و چنگ و سایر آلات موسیقی را شنیدید در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی به خاک بیفتید و آن را سجده و پرستش کنید، ورنه فوراً شما را در کورۀ آتش خواهند انداخت. فکر می کنید کدام خدائی است که بتواند شما را از دست من نجات بدهد؟»
16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
16شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو در جواب گفتند: «ای پادشاه، ما از خود دفاع نمی کنیم.
17If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
17اما خدائی که ما او را پرستش می کنیم، قادر است که ما را از کورۀ آتش و از دست تو نجات دهد، که نجات هم خواهد داد.
18But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.
18اما اگر او هم ما را نجات ندهد، ای پادشاه بدان که ما خدای تو را پرستش نخواهیم کرد و در مقابل مجسمۀ طلائی که تو نصب کرده ای، سجده نخواهیم نمود.»
19Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
19نبوکدنصر، بر شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو بسیار خشمگین شد، بطوری که رنگ رویش از شدت خشم سرخ شده بود. پس فرمان داد آتش کوره را هفت برابر بیشتر از معمول زیاد کنند
20He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
20و به قویترین سرداران لشکر خود امر کرد تا این سه نفر را محکم ببندند و در میان شعله های آتش بیندازند.
21Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
21بدین ترتیب، آن سه نفر را در چپن و پیراهن و لُنگی های شان محکم بستند و در میان شعله های آتش انداختند.
22Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
22چون پادشاه فرمان داده بود که کوره را به شدت گرم و شعله ور سازند، شعله های آتش آن کسانی را که شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو را به وسط آتش انداخته بودند سوزانید و کشت.
23These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
23اما آن سه نفر در حالیکه محکم بسته شده بودند همچنان در بین آتش انداخته شدند.
24Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he spoke and said to his counselors, Didn’t we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered the king, True, O king.
24ناگهان نبوکدنصر با تعجب و شتاب از جای خود برخاست و از مشاوران خود پرسید: «مگر ما این سه نفر را نبستیم و در میان آتش نینداختیم؟» آن ها جواب دادند: «بلی، ای پادشاه، همینطور است.»
25He answered, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are unharmed; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
25پادشاه گفت: «پس چرا من حالا چهار نفر می بینم که با دست و پای باز در میان آتش قدم می زنند و آسیبی هم به آن ها نرسیده است و نفر چهارم شبیه پسر خدا است.»
26Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth out of the midst of the fire.
26پس نبوکدنصر به نزدیک دهانۀ کورۀ آتش رفت و با صدای بلندی گفت: «ای شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو، ای بندگان خدای تعالی بیرون بیائید!» آن ها از میان آتش بیرون آمدند.
27The satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.
27تمام شاهزادگان، والیها، وزیران، سرداران و همه درباریان جمع شدند و آن سه نفر را دیدند که چطور آتش به آن ها آسیبی نرسانیده، موئی هم از سر آن ها نسوخته و لباسهای شان آتش نگرفته و حتی بوی آتش و سوختگی هم از آن ها نمی آمد.
28Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
28نبوکدنصر پادشاه، گفت: «سپاس بر خدای شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو! او فرشتۀ خود را فرستاد تا این مردانی که او را خدمت می کنند و به او توکل دارند و از فرمان من سرپیچی کردند و جان خود را به خطر انداختند تا در مقابل خدای دیگری جز خدای خودشان سجده نکنند، نجات بدهد.
29Therefore I make a decree, that every people, nation, and language, which speak anything evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill; because there is no other god who is able to deliver after this sort.
29حالا این فرمان من است که اگر از هر قوم و هر ملت و هر زبان، سخنی بر ضد خدای شدرک، میشک و عَبدنَغو بر زبان بیاورد، او را تکه تکه کنند و خانه اش را به ویرانه تبدیل نمایند. زیرا خدای دیگری نیست که بتواند اینطور نجات بخشد.»آنگاه پادشاه، شدرک و میشک و عَبدنَغو را به مقامهای بلند در ولایات بابل منصوب کرد.
30Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
30آنگاه پادشاه، شدرک و میشک و عَبدنَغو را به مقامهای بلند در ولایات بابل منصوب کرد.
