¹If there arise in the midst of you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give you a sign or a wonder,

¹اگر در بین شما انبیاء و یا تعبیر کنندگان خواب وجود داشته باشند که به شما وعدۀ معجزه ای را بدهند

²and the sign or the wonder come to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let us go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let us serve them”;

²و آن معجزه هم ظهور کند، اما بگویند: «بیائید که خدایان مردم دیگر را که شما هرگز نپرستیده اید، پرستش کنیم.»

³you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams: for Yahweh your God proves you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

³شما نباید به حرف آن ها گوش بدهید، زیرا خداوند شما را امتحان می کند که آیا واقعاً خداوند، خدای خود را با تمامی قلب و جان خود دوست دارید یا نه.

⁴You shall walk after Yahweh your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cling to him.

⁴شما تنها از خداوند، خدای تان پیروی کنید، فقط از او بترسید، احکام او را بجا آورید، او را بپرستید و از او جدا نشوید.

⁵That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

⁵آن انبیاء یا تعبیر کنندگان خواب که برعلیه خداوند، خدای تان که شما را از مصر بیرون آورد و از اسارت و غلامی آزاد ساخت، فتنه برپا می کنند باید کشته شوند. آن ها سعی می کنند که شما را از راهی که خداوند، خدای تان به شما نشان داده است، گمراه سازند. با از بین بردن این مردم شرارت را از بین خود پاک می کنید.

⁶If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, who is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

⁶اگر کسی حتی برادر، پسر، دختر، زن یا صمیمی ترین دوست تان در خفا شما را فریب دهد و بگوید که بیائید خدایان دیگر را که هم برای شما و هم برای اجداد تان بیگانه هستند، بپرستیم.

⁷of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth;

⁷یا یکی از آن ها شما را تشویق نماید که خدایان مردمی را که در نزدیکی شما زندگی می کنند یا خدایان اقوام کشورهای دوردست را بپرستید،

⁸you shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:

⁸شما نباید قبول کنید و به حرف او گوش بدهید. به او رحم و شفقت نشان ندهید و دسیسۀ او را فاش سازید.

⁹but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

⁹او را بکشید و دست خود تان اولین دستی باشد که او را سنگسار کند و بعد دستهای تمام قوم.

¹⁰You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁰برای اینکه آن ها می خواهند خداوند، خدای تان را که شما را از اسارت و غلامی در مصر نجات داد، از شما جدا سازند.

¹¹All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more such wickedness as this is in the midst of you.

¹¹به این ترتیب، تمام مردم اسرائیل از دسیسۀ آن ها اطلاع یافته همگی می ترسند و دیگر کسی جرأت نمی کند که مرتکب چنین شرارتی شود.

¹²If you shall hear tell concerning one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, saying,

¹²اگر در شهری که خداوند، خدای تان برای سکونت به شما می دهد بشنوید

¹³Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of you, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which you have not known;

¹³که اشخاص شریر و پست مردم را گمراه کرده اند که بروند و خدایان اقوام دیگر را که برای شما بیگانه هستند، پرستش کنند،

¹⁴then you shall inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in the midst of you,

¹⁴اول تحقیق کنید که آیا آن شایعه حقیقت دارد یا نه. اگر معلوم شود که حقیقت دارد و چنین عمل زشتی در بین شما اتفاق افتاده است،

¹⁵you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.

¹⁵شما باید آن شهر را با تمام ساکنین و مواشی آن بکلی از بین ببرید.

¹⁶You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, and all its spoil every whit, to Yahweh your God: and it shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.

¹⁶بعد همۀ غنایم را در میدان شهر جمع کرده آن ها را همراه با شهر بعنوان قربانی سوختنی برای خداوند، خدای تان بسوزانید و آن شهر برای همیشه ویران باقی مانده دوباره آباد نشود.

¹⁷Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand; that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;

¹⁷هیچ چیزی را از آن غنایمِ حرام برای خود نگیرید تا خداوند از خشم شدید خود برگشته بر شما رحم و شفقت نشان بدهد و قراریکه به اجداد تان وعده داد، به تعداد شما بیفزاید.بشرطی که از احکام خداوند، خدای تان که امروز به شما ابلاغ می کنم، پیروی نمائید و آنچه را که مورد پسند اوست بجا آورید.

¹⁸when you shall listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh your God.

¹⁸بشرطی که از احکام خداوند، خدای تان که امروز به شما ابلاغ می کنم، پیروی نمائید و آنچه را که مورد پسند اوست بجا آورید.
