1The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and his inheritance.
1کاهنان لاوی و سایر لاویان نباید مُلک و زمینی در اسرائیل داشته باشند. گوشت قربانی را که برای خداوند تقدیم می کنید برای آن ها بدهید.
2They shall have no inheritance among their brothers: Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.
2آن ها نباید مُلکی داشته باشند، زیرا قراریکه خداوند وعده فرمود، خود او میراث آن ها است
3This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
3وقتی گاو یا گوسفندی را قربانی می کنید، شانه، دو الاشه و شکمبۀ آن را به کاهنان بدهید.
4The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.
4میوۀ اول غله، شراب و همچنین پشم گوسفندان تان سهم آن ها است.
5For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons for ever.
5چون خداوند، خدای تان قبیلۀ لاوی را از بین تمام قبایل برگزید تا آن ها و فرزندان شان برای همیشه خدمت خداوند را بکنند.
6If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose;
6هر فرد لاوی از هر شهر سرزمین اسرائیل که باشد می تواند به جائی که خداوند بعنوان عبادتگاه خود تعیین کند بیاید
7then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.
7و بحیث کاهن، مثل سایر کاهنان بنام خداوند، خدای خود خدمت کند.
8They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.
8در خوراک استحقاق مساوی داشته باشد و هر چه را هم که خانواده اش می فرستد می تواند برای خود نگهدارد.
9When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
9وقتی به سرزمینی که خداوند، خدای تان به شما می دهد وارد شدید، احتیاط کنید که از رسوم و رواج زشت مردم آنجا تقلید ننمائید.
10There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
10پسر یا دختر تان را بر آتش قربانگاه قربانی نکنید. از فالگیری، غیبگوئی، رمالی و جادوگری بپرهیزید.
11or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
11مثل آن ها از سحر و جادو کار نگیرید و از ارواح مردگان و اجنه مشوره نخواهید،
12For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you.
12زیرا خداوند از این اعمال زشت نفرت دارد و بخاطر همین کارهای زشت آن مردم است که خداوند، خدای تان آن ها را از سر راه تان محو می کند.
13You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God.
13پس شما به خداوند وفادار باشید.
14For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.
14این مردمی که سرزمین شان را تصاحب می کنید به غیبگوئی و فالگیری گوش می دهند، ولی خداوند، خدای تان اجازه نمی دهد که شما به چنین کارهائی دست بزنید.
15Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
15خداوند، خدای تان از بین شما نبی ای مانند من برای شما می فرستد. شما به او گوش بدهید.
16This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”
16روزی که در پائین کوه حوریب جمع شده بودید گفتید: «اگر بار دیگر آواز خداوند، خدای خود را بشنویم و یا آن آتش مهیب را ببینیم، از ترس می میریم.»
17Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.
17آنگاه خداوند به من فرمود: «آنچه گفتند بجا است.
18I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
18من از بین آن ها نبی ای مانند تو برای شان می فرستم. او سخنگوی من بوده به او یاد می دهم که به مردم چه بگوید.
19It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
19کسی که به پیام آن پیغمبر که از جانب من می باشد، گوش ندهد جزا می بیند.
20But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”
20هر نبی ای که بگوید پیام او از جانب خدایان دیگر است و یا کسی به دروغ ادعا کند که سخنگوی من است سزایش مرگ است.»
21If you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”
21شاید به خود بگوئید: «چطور بدانم که پیام از جانب خدا است یا نه؟»راه ثبوت آن اینست: هرگاه یک پیغمبر چیزی بگوید و نتیجه ای ندهد، پیام او از جانب خداوند نیست و آن پیغمبر از دل خود حرف می زند. پس از او نترسید.
22when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.
22راه ثبوت آن اینست: هرگاه یک پیغمبر چیزی بگوید و نتیجه ای ندهد، پیام او از جانب خداوند نیست و آن پیغمبر از دل خود حرف می زند. پس از او نترسید.
