¹Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.

¹موسی به ادامۀ کلام خود به قوم اسرائیل چنین گفت: «من یکصد و بیست سال عمر دارم و بیشتر از این رهبری شما برای من مقدور نیست. برعلاوه، خداوند به من فرمود: «تو از دریای اُردن عبور نمی کنی.»

²He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: and Yahweh has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’

²خداوند، خدای تان خودش پیشاپیش شما به آن سرزمین می رود و مردمانی را که در آنجا زندگی می کنند از بین می برد و شما مُلک آن ها را به دست می آورید. قرار امر خداوند یوشع رهبری شما را بدوش می گیرد.

³Yahweh your God, he will go over before you; he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua shall go over before you, as Yahweh has spoken.

³خداوند اقوامی را که در آن سرزمین زندگی می کنند به سرنوشت سیحون و عوج، پادشاهان اموری گرفتار می سازد، خود شان را هلاک و سرزمین آن ها را بخاک یکسان می کند.

⁴Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land; whom he destroyed.

⁴خداوند آن ها را به دست شما می سپارد و شما مطابق هدایتی که من به شما داده ام با آن ها رفتار کنید.

⁵Yahweh will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.

⁵قوی و با جرأت باشید، ترس و وحشت را در دلهای تان جای ندهید، زیرا خداوند، خدای تان با شما می باشد. شما را تنها نمی گذارد و ترک نمی کند.»

⁶Be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid, nor be scared of them: for Yahweh your God, he it is who does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.”

⁶بعد موسی یوشع را احضار کرده در پیش روی تمام قوم اسرائیل به او گفت: «قوی و دلیر باش، زیرا تو این قوم را به آن سرزمینی که خداوند به اجداد ما وعده فرموده است رهبری می کنی تا آنجا را متصرف شوند.

⁷Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

⁷خداوند پیشاپیش تو حرکت می کند و همراه تو می باشد. او ترا تنها نمی گذارد و ترک نمی کند، پس نترس و هراسان مباش.»

⁸Yahweh, he it is who does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”

⁸آنگاه موسی احکام شریعت را نوشت و به کاهنان لاوی که مسئول حمل صندوق پیمان خداوند هستند و همچنین به ریش سفیدان قوم داد

⁹Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and to all the elders of Israel.

⁹و به آن ها فرمود: «در ختم هر هفت سال، یعنی در سالی که قرضها بخشیده می شوند هنگام عید سایبانها و

¹⁰Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tents,

¹⁰در وقتی که همۀ قوم اسرائیل در حضور خداوند، خدای تان در جائی که او بعنوان عبادتگاه خود تعیین می کند، جمع می شوند کتاب تورات را برای شان بخوانید،

¹¹when all Israel has come to appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

¹¹تا تمام مردان، زنان، کودکان و بیگانگانی که در شهرهای شما بسر می برند، احکام خداوند را بشنوند و یاد بگیرند. از خداوند، خدای تان بترسند و از اوامر او اطاعت کنند.

¹²Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;

¹²همچنین فرزندان شان که در بارۀ این احکام آشنائی ندارند، بشنوند و آشنا شوند و یاد بگیرند که در آن سرزمین تا که زنده هستند از خداوند، خدای تان بترسند و او را احترام کنند.»

¹³and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear Yahweh your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

¹³خداوند به موسی فرمود: «وقت مرگت نزدیک شده است. یوشع را بطلب و با خود به خیمۀ عبادت بیاور تا به او مأموريت بدهم‎‎.» پس موسی و یوشع به خیمۀ عبادت رفتند.

¹⁴Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁴خداوند در ستون ابر ظاهر شد و پیش دروازۀ خیمۀ عبادت ایستاد.

¹⁵Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

¹⁵خداوند به موسی فرمود: «بزودی با پدرانت می پیوندی. بعد از مرگ تو این مردم در سرزمینی که می روند به من خیانت می کنند و خدایان غیر را می پرستند، مرا از یاد می برند و پیمانی را که من با آن ها بسته ام می شکنند.

¹⁶Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

¹⁶آنوقت آتش خشم من علیه آن ها شعله ور شده آن ها را ترک می کنم، روی خود را از آن ها می پوشانم تا از بین بروند و هر نوع مصیبت را بر سر شان می آورم. تا آنکه بگویند: «این بلاها چرا بر سر ما آمد؟ بخاطری که خدای ما در بین ما نیست.»

¹⁷Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’

¹⁷و به سبب شرارت شان و اینکه خدایان دیگر را پرستش کردند، روی خود را از ایشان پنهان می کنم.

¹⁸I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have worked, in that they are turned to other gods.

¹⁸حالا این سرود را بنویس و به مردم اسرائیل تعلیم بده تا از طرف من شاهد باشد،

¹⁹“Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

¹⁹زیرا قراریکه به اجداد شان وعده دادم آن ها را به این سرزمینی که در آن شیر و عسل جاری است آوردم. آن ها خوردند تا که سیر و چاق شدند. آنگاه به پرستش خدایان دیگر شروع کردند. به من توهین نمودند و پیمان مرا شکستند.

²⁰For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

²⁰وقتی این بلاها بر آن ها نازل شدند این سرود شاهد روزگار محنت بار شان بوده از نسل به نسل نقل می شود، زیرا از همین حالا، پیش از آنکه به سرزمین موعود برسند، از افکار و خیالات شان آگاهم.»

²¹It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.”

²¹در همان روز موسی این سرود را نوشت و به قوم اسرائیل یاد داد.

²²So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

²²بعد خداوند به یوشع فرمود: «قوی و دلیر باش، زیرا تو قوم اسرائیل را به سرزمین موعود هدایت می کنی و من همراه تو می باشم.»

²³He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you.”

²³بعد از آنکه موسی از نوشتن احکامی که در این کتاب ثبت شده است، فارغ شد،

²⁴It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

²⁴به لاویانی که مسئول حمل صندوق پیمان خداوند بودند گفت:

²⁵that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, saying,

²⁵«این کتاب شریعت را بگیرید و در کنار صندوق پیمان خداوند، خدای تان قرار دهید، تا هوشداری برای قوم اسرائیل باشد.

²⁶“Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

²⁶زیرا می دانم که این مردم چقدر متمرد و سرکش هستند. در حالی که من هنوز زنده هستم شما در برابر خداوند سرکشی می کنید، پس وقتی که من از این جهان بروم چه کارهائی خواهید کرد.

²⁷For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against Yahweh; and how much more after my death?

²⁷حالا تمام ریش سفیدان و رهبران قوم را جمع کن تا این سخنان را به آن ها بگویم و آسمان و زمین را بر آن ها شاهد بگیرم.

²⁸Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

²⁸به یقین می دانم که بعد از مرگ من فاسد و گمراه می شوید و از احکامی که به شما داده ام پیروی نمی کنید. سرانجام دچار سختی و مشکلات می شوید، زیرا که شما کارهائی می کنید که در نظر خداوند زشت هستند و با اعمال زشت تان او را خشمگین می سازید.»پس موسی کلمات این سرود را در حالیکه تمام جماعت اسرائیل گوش می دادند، از سر تا آخر برای شان خواند:

²⁹For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.”

²⁹پس موسی کلمات این سرود را در حالیکه تمام جماعت اسرائیل گوش می دادند، از سر تا آخر برای شان خواند:

³⁰Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.
