¹Give ear, you heavens, and I will speak. Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

¹«ای آسمان ها سخنان مرا بشنوید؛ ای زمین به حرف من گوش بده.

²My doctrine shall drop as the rain. My speech shall condense as the dew, as the small rain on the tender grass, as the showers on the herb.

²تعلیم من مثل باران می بارد، کلام من مانند شبنم، همچون قطرات نرم باران بر سبزه و بسان بارش بر گیاهان تازه فرو می ریزد.

³For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh. Ascribe greatness to our God!

³زیرا من نام خداوند را می ستایم. عظمت او را تمجید کنید.

⁴The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁴او صخره است و اعمالش کامل. همۀ راه های او انصاف است. خدای باوفا و مبرا از ظلم. او عادل و راست است.

⁵They have dealt corruptly with him. They are not his children, because of their defect. They are a perverse and crooked generation.

⁵اما این مردم ناخلف، دیگر فرزندان او نیستند، زیرا همگی باعث ننگ او شده کجرو و سرکش اند.

⁶Do you thus requite Yahweh, foolish people and unwise? Isn’t he your father who has bought you? He has made you, and established you.

⁶ای قوم احمق و نادان! آیا به این طریق تلافی خوبی های او را می کنید؟ آیا او پدر و آفریدگار شما نیست؟ آیا او نبود که شما را خلق کرد و قومی از شما ساخت؟

⁷Remember the days of old. Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.

⁷ایام گذشته را بیاد آورید. به سالهای قدیم بیندیشید و از پدران تان بپرسید تا به شما اطلاع بدهند. از ریش سفیدان سوال کنید تا به شما بگویند.

⁸When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.

⁸خدای متعال سهم هر قوم را داد و برای هر کدام آن ها جائی برای زندگی بخشید و سرحدات آن ها را بر حسب تعداد بنی اسرائیل تعیین کرد.

⁹For Yahweh’s portion is his people. Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

⁹اما یعقوب را برای خود برگزید تا قوم خاص او باشند.

¹⁰He found him in a desert land, in the waste howling wilderness. He surrounded him. He cared for him. He kept him as the apple of his eye.

¹⁰او قوم اسرائیل را در بیابان و در صحرای خشک و سوزان سرگردان یافت. او مثل مردمک چشم خود از آن ها محافظت و مراقبت کرد و آن ها را پناه داد.

¹¹As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spread abroad his wings, he took them, he bore them on his feathers.

¹¹مانند عقابی است که به چوچه های خود هنر پرواز را یاد می دهد و بالهای خود را باز می کند تا آن ها را بر شهپرهای خود بردارد و بجای امنی ببرد.

¹²Yahweh alone led him. There was no foreign god with him.

¹²خداوند خودش آن ها را هدایت کرد و خدای دیگری با او نبود.

¹³He made him ride on the high places of the earth. He ate the increase of the field. He caused him to suck honey out of the rock, oil out of the flinty rock;

¹³او آن ها را بر فراز کوهها جای داد. با محصولات زمین آن ها را تغذیه کرد. از بین صخره به آن ها عسل داد و از بین سنگ خارا روغن.

¹⁴Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the finest of the wheat. Of the blood of the grape you drank wine.

¹⁴مسکۀ گاو و شیر گوسفند را با چربی بره و قوچ به آن ها بخشید. گاوهای باشانی و رمۀ بز به آن ها عطا کرد. بهترین گندم و عالیترین شراب انگور را به آن ها داد.

¹⁵But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁵اما قوم اسرائیل سیر شدند و تمرد کردند. آن ها چاق گشتند و تنومند شدند و خدائی را که خالق آن ها است ترک نمودند. صخرۀ نجات خود را حقیر شمردند.

¹⁶They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.

¹⁶با بت پرستی خود غضب خداوند را برانگیختند و با اعمال زشت خود او را بخشم آوردند.

¹⁷They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods that they didn’t know, to new gods that came up recently, which your fathers didn’t dread.

¹⁷برای بتهائی که خدای واقعی نبودند، برای خدایان نوی که اجداد شان هرگز نمی شناختند و خدایانی که قوم اسرائیل آن ها را نپرستیده بودند، قربانی کردند.

¹⁸Of the Rock who became your father, you are unmindful, and have forgotten God who gave you birth.

¹⁸به صخره ای که تو را تولید نمود، اعتنا ننمودی و خدای آفرینندۀ خود را فراموش کردی.

¹⁹Yahweh saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

¹⁹وقتی خداوند این کارها را دید خشمگین شد و پسران و دختران خود را ترک کرد.

²⁰He said, “I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

²⁰خداوند فرمود: «من آن ها را ترک می کنم تا ببینم که عاقبت آن ها چه می شود، زیرا آن ها مردم سرکش و خیانتکار هستند.

²¹They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

²¹آن ها با پرستش خدایان دیگر که اصلاً خدا نیستند، غیرت مرا برانگیختند و مرا به خشم آوردند. پس من هم به اقوام بی نام و نشان محبت نشان می دهم تا خشم و حسادت آن ها را برانگیزم.

²²For a fire is kindled in my anger, Burns to the lowest Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , Devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.

²²آتش خشم من برافروخته شده تا اعماق زمین فرو می رود، زمین و همه چیزهائی را که در آن هستند و کوهها را از بیخ می سوزاند.

²³“I will heap evils on them. I will spend my arrows on them.

²³آن ها را به مصیبت های بیشمار مبتلا می کنم و هدف تیرهای خود قرار می دهم.

²⁴They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.

²⁴از گرسنگی بجان می آیند، در تب می سوزند و با مرض مهلک هلاک می شوند. آن ها را در چنگ حیوانات درنده گرفتار می سازم و مارهای سمی را می فرستم تا آن ها را بگزند.

²⁵Outside the sword shall bereave, and in the rooms, terror; on both young man and virgin, The nursing infant with the gray-haired man.

²⁵در بیرون با دَم شمشیر کشته می شوند و در بین خانه به وحشت می افتند. پسران، دختران جوان، کودکان و پیران یکسان از بین می روند.

²⁶I said, I would scatter them afar. I would make their memory to cease from among men;

²⁶می خواستم آن ها را پراگنده کنم تا خاطره ای از آن ها در ضمیر کسی باقی نماند.

²⁷were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, ‘Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”

²⁷اما ترسیدم که دشمنان از روی کینه و سوءتفاهم بگویند: ما با زور بازوی خود پیروز شدیم نه با قدرت خداوند.»

²⁸For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.

²⁸اسرائیل یک قوم نادان و نافهم است.

²⁹Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

²⁹اگر آن ها عقل می داشتند می دانستند که چرا شکست خورده اند.

³⁰How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up?

³⁰چرا هزار نفر شان از دست یک نفر و ده هزار نفر شان از دست دو نفر شکست خوردند؟ بخاطریکه خدای توانای شان آن ها را ترک کرده بود. خداوند آن ها را به دست دشمن تسلیم نمود.

³¹For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

³¹حتی دشمنان شان می دانند که خدایان خود شان مثل خدای اسرائیل قوی نیستند.

³²For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, of the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.

³²دشمنان شان مانند مردم سدوم و عموره فاسد اند. به تاک هائی می مانند که انگور تلخ و زهرناک بار می آورند

³³Their wine is the poison of serpents, The cruel venom of asps.

³³و مثل شرابی است که از زهر مهلک مار و اژدها به دست آمده باشد.

³⁴“Isn’t this laid up in store with me, sealed up among my treasures?

³⁴خداوند می داند که دشمنان چه کرده اند. او به موقع آن ها را به جزای اعمال شان می رساند.

³⁵Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. The things that are to come on them shall make haste.”

³⁵خداوند از آن ها انتقام می گیرد و آن ها را جزا می دهد. بزودی آن ها سقوط می کنند، زیرا روز هلاکت شان نزدیک است.

³⁶For Yahweh will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, There is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

³⁶اما وقتی خداوند ببیند که قوم برگزیدۀ او بیچاره شده و از غلام و آزاد کسی نمانده است، آن ها را نجات می بخشد و بر بندگان خود رحم می کند.

³⁷He will say, “Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge;

³⁷خداوند به آن ها می گوید: «کجا هستند آن خدایانی که به آن ها پناه می بردید؟

³⁸Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you! Let them be your protection.

³⁸با چربی قربانی های خود آن ها را تغذیه می کردید و شراب برای نوشیدن به آن ها می دادید. حالا بگذارید که بیایند و به شما کمک کنند و پناه بدهند.

³⁹“See now that I, even I, am he, There is no god with me. I kill, and I make alive. I wound, and I heal. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand.

³⁹بدانید که من، تنها من خدا هستم و بغیر از من خدای دیگری وجود ندارد. من می میرانم و زنده می سازم. مجروح می کنم و شفا می بخشم. کسی نمی تواند از دست من رهائی یابد.

⁴⁰For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live forever,

⁴⁰دست خود را بسوی آسمان بلند می کنم و می گویم: من که تا ابد زنده هستم،

⁴¹if I whet my glittering sword, My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my adversaries, and will recompense those who hate me.

⁴¹شمشیر براق خود را تیز کرده از دشمنان بازخواست می کنم و انتقام می گیرم. کسانی را که از من نفرت می کنند جزا می دهم.

⁴²I will make my arrows drunk with blood. My sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of the leaders of the enemy.”

⁴²تیرهای من غرق در خون دشمنان می شوند و شمشیر من بدن بدخواهان را می دَرَد. هیچ کسی را امان نمی دهم. حتی زخمی شدگان و اسیران با دَم شمشیر من کشته می شوند و سرهای رهبران شان آغشته بخون می گردند.»

⁴³Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants. He will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people.

⁴³ای ملل جهان، در خوشی قوم برگزیدۀ او شریک شوید و همۀ تان او را پرستش کنید. زیرا او قاتلین بندگان خود را می کشد و از دشمنان خود انتقام می گیرد. کسانی را که از او نفرت دارند، جزا می دهد و زمین و قوم برگزیدۀ خود را از گناه پاک می سازد.»

⁴⁴Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

⁴⁴بعد از آنکه موسی و یوشع، پسر نون تمام این سرود را کلمه به کلمه برای قوم اسرائیل خواندند،

⁴⁵Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;

⁴⁵موسی به آن ها گفت: «به سخنانی که به شما گفتم بدقت توجه نمائید و به فرزندان تان دستور بدهید که از همه احکام خداوند اطاعت کنند.

⁴⁶He said to them, “Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

⁴⁶زیرا این احکام با ارزش و حیات شما است. از آن ها پیروی کنید تا در سرزمینی که در آن طرف دریای اُردن است و به زودی آن را متصرف می شوید، سالهای زیادی در آن زندگی کنید.»

⁴⁷For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

⁴⁷در همان روز خداوند به موسی فرمود:

⁴⁸Yahweh spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

⁴⁸«به کوهستان عباریم واقع در سرزمین موآب در آن طرف اریحا برو و به سر کوه نِبو بالا شو. از آنجا تمام سرزمین کنعان را که به قوم اسرائیل می دهم ببین.

⁴⁹“Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession;

⁴⁹بعد تو بر سر همان کوه می میری و با پدرانت می پیوندی، مثلیکه برادرت، هارون که بر کوه هور فوت کرد و با اجداد خود پیوست.

⁵⁰and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

⁵⁰زیرا هردوی تان در حضور قوم اسرائیل، کنار چشمۀ مریبۀ قادِش واقع در بیابان سین حرمت مرا نگاه نداشتید.آن سرزمینی را که به قوم اسرائیل می دهم از دور می بینی، اما هرگز در آنجا پا نمی گذاری.»

⁵¹because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you didn’t sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.

⁵¹آن سرزمینی را که به قوم اسرائیل می دهم از دور می بینی، اما هرگز در آنجا پا نمی گذاری.»

⁵²For you shall see the land before you; but you shall not go there into the land which I give the children of Israel.”
