¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:

¹از طرف پولُس که به ارادۀ خدا رسول مسیح عیسی است به مقدسین در شهر اِفِسُس که در مسیح عیسی وفادار هستند.

²Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²از طرف خدا پدر ما، و عیسی مسیح خداوند، فیض و سلامتی به شما باد.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;

³خدا و پدر خداوند ما عیسی مسیح را سپاس می گوئیم، زیرا او ما را در مسیح از همۀ برکات روحانی در قلمرو آسمانی بهره مند ساخته است.

⁴even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love;

⁴خدا ما را پیش از آفرینش دنیا در مسیح برگزید تا در پیشگاه او مقدس و بی عیب باشیم. به سبب محبت خود

⁵having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

⁵و بر حسب صلاحدید ارادۀ خویش، برای ما مقدر فرمود که به وسیلۀ عیسی مسیح فرزندان او شویم.

⁶to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely bestowed favor on us in the Beloved,

⁶تا خدا را برای فیض پُر شکوهِ او که رایگان در پسر عزیز خود به ما بخشیده است، سپاس گوئیم.

⁷in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

⁷در مسیح و به وسیلۀ خون او ما رهایی یافتیم و گناهان ما بخشیده شد و چقدر بی حد و بی اندازه است فیضی که خدا

⁸which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁸به فراوانی به ما بخشیده است.

⁹making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

⁹خدا آنچه را که منظور نظرش بود بجا آورد و نقشۀ نهان خود را که قبلاً در شخص مسیح معین شده بود، با دانش و بینش بر ما آشکار ساخته است

¹⁰to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him;

¹⁰که در وقت معین نقشۀ او عملی شود و کلیۀ کائنات یعنی همۀ چیزهایی که در آسمان و زمین هستند، تحت فرمان مسیح با هم جمع شوند.

¹¹in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;

¹¹خدایی که همه چیز را مطابق اراده و نقشۀ خود انجام می دهد، ما را انتخاب کرد تا از آنِ او بشویم. زیرا ما را از ازل مطابق ارادۀ خویش برگزیده بود.

¹²to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:

¹²پس ما که اولین کسانی بودیم که به مسیح امیدوار شدیم، باید بزرگی خدا را ستایش کنیم.

¹³in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹³شما نیز وقتی پیام حقیقت یعنی مژدۀ نجات خود را شنیدید و به او ایمان آوردید، با او متحد شدید و خدا با اعطای روح القدس، که قبلاً وعده داده بود مُهر مالکیت خود را بر شما نهاده است.

¹⁴who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

¹⁴روح خدا ضامن آن است که ما آنچه را او به قوم برگزیدۀ خود وعده داده است، خواهیم یافت و به ما اطمینان می دهد که خدا به متعلقان خود آزادی کامل می بخشد، پس جلال و شکوه خدا را ستایش کنیم.

¹⁵For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints,

¹⁵به این سبب، اکنون که از ایمان شما به عیسی خداوند و محبت شما نسبت به همۀ مقدسین باخبر شده ام،

¹⁶don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

¹⁶از سپاسگزاری به درگاه خدا به خاطر شما خلاص نمی شوم و شما را در دعاهایم به یاد می آورم.

¹⁷that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

¹⁷من دعا می کنم، آن خدایی که عیسی مسیح خداوند، او را به ما شناسانید ـ آن پدر پُر جلال ـ روح حکمت و الهام را به شما عطا فرماید تا او را کاملاً بشناسید.

¹⁸having the eyes of your hearts TR reads “understanding” instead of “hearts” enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁸و از او می خواهم که چشمان دل شما را روشن سازد تا به چگونگی امیدی که خدا شما را به آن دعوت کرده است و به ثروتمندی و شکوه بهره ای که خدا به مقدسین خود وعده داده است

¹⁹and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

¹⁹و عظمت بی اندازۀ قدرت او را که در ما ایمانداران در کار است، بفهمید.

²⁰which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

²⁰این همان قدرت عظیمی است که خدا به کار بُرد، وقتی مسیح را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید و در دست راست خود، در جایهای آسمانی قرار داد

²¹far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

²¹و او را مافوق هر سلطنت، اقتدار، قدرت، پادشاهی و هر مقام دیگر که بتوان ذکر کرد، نه تنها در این دنیا بلکه در دنیای آینده نیز، قرار داد.

²²He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,

²²خدا همه چیز را زیر پای مسیح نهاد و او را رأس کلیسا ساخته است،کلیسایی که بدن اوست و تمام وجود او را در بر می گیرد و در عین حال تمام کائنات را با حضور خود پُر می سازد.

²³which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

²³کلیسایی که بدن اوست و تمام وجود او را در بر می گیرد و در عین حال تمام کائنات را با حضور خود پُر می سازد.
