1He said to Moses, “Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.
1خداوند به موسی فرمود: «تو و هارون و ناداب و ابیهو با هفتاد نفر از بزرگان بنی اسرائیل بر بالای کوه به حضور من بیائید، ولی به من نزدیک نشوید و از فاصلۀ دور مرا سجده کنید.
2Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him.”
2تنها تو به حضور من بیا و دیگران نزدیک نشوند. هیچ یک از افراد قوم نباید بالای کوه بیاید.»
3Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.”
3پس موسی آمد و همۀ کلام و احکام خداوند را برای قوم اسرائیل بیان کرد. تمام مردم با یک صدا جواب دادند: «ما به همۀ آنچه که خداوند فرموده است عمل خواهیم کرد.»
4Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
4موسی تمام احکام خداوند را نوشت و صبح روز بعد برخاست و در پائین آن کوه قربانگاهی ساخت و دوازده ستون به نمایندگی از دوازده قبیلۀ اسرائیل در آنجا برپا کرد.
5He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to Yahweh.
5سپس چند نفر از جوانان را فرستاد تا قربانی های سوختنی و سلامتی برای خداوند تقدیم کنند.
6Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
6بعد موسی نیمی از خون حیوانات قربانی شده را در لگنی ریخت و نیم دیگر را بر قربانگاه پاشید.
7He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “All that Yahweh has spoken will we do, and be obedient.”
7سپس کتاب پیمان را که در آن احکام خداوند نوشته شده بود برای مردم خواند. آن ها گفتند: «ما از اوامر خداوند اطاعت می کنیم و هر چه را که فرموده است انجام می دهیم.»
8Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”
8موسی خونی را که در لگن ریخته بود گرفت و بر سر مردم پاشید و گفت: «این خون، پیمانی را که خداوند با دادن این احکام با شما بست، مُهر می کند.»
9Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.
9موسی با هارون، ناداب، ابیهو و هفتاد نفر از بزرگان بنی اسرائیل بالای کوه رفتند
10They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire or, lapis lazuli stone, like the skies for clearness.
10و خدای بنی اسرائیل را دیدند که زیر پاهایش فرشی از یاقوت کبود که بسان آسمان آبی صاف و شفاف می نمود، گسترده شده است.
11He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.
11گرچه بزرگان اسرائیل خدا را دیدند، اما آسیبی به آن ها نرسید. سپس آن ها با یکدیگر خوردند و نوشیدند.
12Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.”
12خداوند به موسی فرمود: «به بالای کوه به حضور من بیا و در آنجا بمان و من احکامی را که روی لوح های سنگی نوشته ام به تو می دهم تا آن ها را به قوم اسرائیل تعلیم بدهی.»
13Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain.
13پس موسی با معاون خود، یوشع برخاست تا از کوه خدا بالا برود.
14He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”
14موسی به بزرگان قوم گفت: «شما تا بازگشت ما در همین جا منتظر بمانید. هارون و حور پیش شما می مانند و هرگاه مشکلی داشته باشید، برای مشوره نزد آن ها بروید.»
15Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
15وقتی موسی از کوه بالا رفت، ابری کوه را پوشانید
16The glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
16و نور خیره کنندۀ جلال خدا، کوه سینا را فرا گرفت. ابر مدت شش روز آنرا پوشانیده بود و در روز هفتم، خداوند موسی را از میان ابر ها صدا کرد.
17The appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
17روشنی جلال خداوند بر قلۀ کوه در نظر مردمی که در پایان کوه بودند مثل شعله های فروزان آتش می نمود.موسی در میان ابر ها داخل شد و بر بالای کوه رفت. او مدت چهل شبانه روز در کوه ماند.
18Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
18موسی در میان ابر ها داخل شد و بر بالای کوه رفت. او مدت چهل شبانه روز در کوه ماند.
