¹He said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.

¹او به من گفت: «ای انسان فانی، برخیز و بپا بایست تا با تو سخن گویم.»

²The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

²هنگامی که او با من حرف می زد، روح خداوند داخل من شد و مرا از زمین بلند کرد و به کلام خود این چنین ادامه داد:

³He said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

³«ای انسان خاکی، من ترا پیش قوم اسرائیل می فرستم، پیش قوم سرکش که علیه من تمرد کردند. آن ها و اجداد شان تا به امروز در برابر من گناه ورزیده اند.

⁴The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I am sending you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh.

⁴اینها مردم گستاخ و لجوج هستند، پس من، خدای متعال، ترا می فرستم تا کلام مرا به گوش آن ها برسانی.

⁵They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

⁵این قوم سرکش چه بشنوند و چه نشنوند، در هر صورت باید بدانند که یک نبی در بین شان وجود دارد.

⁶You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

⁶اما تو ای انسان خاکی، از آن ها نترس. گرچه حرفهای آن ها مثل خار و نیش گژدم باشد، نباید خوف کنی!

⁷You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.

⁷چه بشنوند و چه نشنوند، کلام مرا برای آن ها بیان کن. می دانم که آن ها مردم متمرد و سرکش هستند.

⁸But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.

⁸ولی تو ای انسان خاکی، به آنچه که به تو می گویم گوش بده و مثل این قوم سرکش نباش! دهانت را باز کن و آنچه را که به تو می دهم، بخور.»

⁹When I looked, behold, a hand was put forth to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein;

⁹آنگاه دستی را دیدم که بسوی من دراز شد و در آن طوماری بود.طومار را باز کرد و دیدم که در پشت و روی آن مطالبی نوشته شده بود که حکایت از غم و ماتم و نابودی می کرد.

¹⁰He spread it before me: and it was written within and without; and there were written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
