¹The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

¹این کتاب شامل پیامهائی است که خدا در دوران سلطنت عُزیا، یوتام، آحاز و حزقیا، پادشاهان کشور یهودا، در عالم رؤیا به اشعیا پسر آموص داد. این پیامها راجع به یهودا و پایتخت آن، اورشلیم می باشند.

²Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

²ای آسمان و زمین بشنوید؛ خداوند می فرماید: «فرزندانی را که پروردم و بزرگ کردم، برعلیه من قیام نموده اند.

³The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel doesn’t know, my people don’t consider.”

³گاو مالک خود را و خر آخور خود را می شناسد، اما قوم برگزیدۀ من، بنی اسرائیل خدای خود را نمی شناسند، زیرا شعور ندارند.»

⁴Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

⁴ای قوم گناهکار که در زیر بار گناه خم گشته اید و ای مردم شریر، شما خداوند را ترک کردید و به خدای مقدس اسرائیل اهانت نمودید و از او بیگانه شدید.

⁵Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

⁵چرا از کارهای بد و سرکشی دست بر نمی دارید؟ آیا می خواهید که زیادتر جزا ببینید؟ فکر و دل شما بیمار است.

⁶From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.

⁶از کف پا تا موی سر جای سالمی در بدن تان نیست، بلکه تمام بدن تان از جراحات و زخمهای متعفن پُر است که نه قابل بخیه شدن هستند و نه مرهم بر آن ها مالیده می شود.

⁷Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

⁷کشور شما ویران شد و شهرهای تان در آتش سوختند. بیگانگان در برابر چشمان تان مُلک شما را غارت می کنند و همه دارائی تان را نابود می سازند.

⁸The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.

⁸دختر سهیون (شهر اورشلیم) مثل سایبانی در تاکستان و مانند یک چَپَری در فالیز بادرنگ تنها ماند و محاصره شد.

⁹Unless Yahweh of Armies had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom; we would have been like Gomorrah.

⁹اگر خداوند متعال آن عدۀ کمی از ما را زنده نمی گذاشت، مثل مردم سدوم و عموره از قوم ما هم اثری باقی نمی ماند.

¹⁰Hear the word of Yahweh, you rulers of Sodom! Listen to the law of our God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” , you people of Gomorrah!

¹⁰ای حاکمان سدوم، به کلام خداوند گوش بدهید. ای مردم عموره به تعلیمات خدا توجه کنید.

¹¹“What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,” says Yahweh. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.

¹¹خداوند می فرماید: «قربانیهای شما فایده ای به من نمی رساند. از قربانیهای سوختنی، قوچهای فربه، خون گاو و بره و بُز بیزار شده ام.

¹²When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?

¹²وقتی به حضور من می آئید، چرا این چیزها را برای من می آورید؟ چه کسی به شما گفته است که بیائید و درگاه مرا پایمال سازید؟

¹³Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t bear with evil assemblies.

¹³دیگر از این قربانیهای بیفایده برای من نیاورید. از خوشبوئی هائی که دود می کنید بیزارم. عیدهای ماه نو، روز سَبَت و اجتماعات مذهبی و گناه آلود شما را نمی توانم تحمل کنم.

¹⁴My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.

¹⁴از جشنهای ماه نو و ایام مذهبی شما نفرت دارم. همۀ اینها برای من خسته کن شده اند.

¹⁵When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

¹⁵هنگامیکه دستهای خود را برای دعا بلند می کنید، من روی خود را می پوشانم و هر قدر دعا کنید اجابت نمی کنم، زیرا دستهای شما به خون آلوده اند.

¹⁶Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.

¹⁶خود را بشوئید و پاک سازید. از گناهانی که در حضور من می کنید، دست بردارید و خطا نکنید.

¹⁷Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow.”

¹⁷نیکی بیاموزید، طالب عدالت باشید، به داد مظلومان برسید و از یتیمان و بیوه زنان حمایت کنید.»

¹⁸“Come now, and let us reason together,” says Yahweh: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

¹⁸خداوند می فرماید: «بیائید تا با همدیگر استدلال نمائیم، اگر گناهان شما به رنگ خون باشند، مانند برف سفید می شوند و اگر سرخ قرمزی باشند مثل پشم پاک می گردند.

¹⁹If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;

¹⁹اگر مایل باشید که از من اطاعت کنید، شما را از نعمتهای زمین سیر می سازم.

²⁰but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”

²⁰اما هرگاه نافرمانی و سرکشی کنید، با دَم شمشیر کشته می شوید.» خداوند خودش چنین می گوید.

²¹How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.

²¹چرا ای شهر وفادارِ اورشلیم، این چنین مفسد شدی؟ زمانی عدالت و راستی در تو حکمفرما بود، اما حالا پُر از جنایت هستی.

²²Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.

²²یک وقتی مثل نقرۀ خالص بودی، ولی اکنون به فلز ناچیز مبدل شده ای. زمانی مانند شراب ناب بودی، مگر حالا همرنگ آب شده ای.

²³Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards. They don’t judge the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

²³حاکمان تو متمرد و شریک دزدان اند. همگی رشوت خوار شده اند. به داد یتیمان نمی رسند و به دعوای بیوه زنان رسیدگی نمی کنند.

²⁴Therefore the Lord, The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh of Armies, the Mighty One of Israel, says: “Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself of my enemies;

²⁴خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای مقتدر اسرائیل می فرماید: «من دشمنان را مورد خشم خود قرار می دهم و انتقام خود را از آن ها می گیرم.

²⁵and I will turn my hand on you, thoroughly purge away your dross, and will take away all your tin.

²⁵حالا من برضد شما اقدام و شما را در کوره ذوب می کنم تا از کثافت گناه پاک شوید.

²⁶I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called ‘The city of righteousness, a faithful town.’

²⁶داوران شما را مثل اول و مشاوران را مانند ابتدا خواهم برگردانید. بعد از آن شهر شما شهر عدالت و امانت نامیده شود.»

²⁷Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.

²⁷چون خداوند عادل است، سهیون و باشندگانش را، اگر توبه کنند، نجات می دهد.

²⁸But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake Yahweh shall be consumed.

²⁸اما مردمان سرکش و گناهکار با هم یکجا از بین می روند و همچنان آنهائی که خدا را فراموش می کنند هلاک می شوند.

²⁹For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.

²⁹شما از پرستشِ درختان بلوط و باغهای برگزیدۀ خود پشیمان می شوید،

³⁰For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.

³⁰شما مثل درختانِ خشک و بی برگ بلوط و باغهای بی آب از بین می روید.نیرومندان تان با اعمال شان همچون پَر کاه یکجا در آتش می سوزند و کسی نمی تواند آن ها را از آتش برهاند.

³¹The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them.”
