1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw:
1این پیامی است راجع به بابل که از جانب خدا برای اشعیا، پسر آموص رسید.
2Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
2بر یک تپۀ خشک بیرق جنگ را برافرازید. به سپاهیان اشاره کنید که به دروازه های اشراف بابل حمله ببرند.
3I have commanded my consecrated ones; yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly exulting ones.
3خداوند خودش سپاه مقدس و شجاع و فداکار خود را مأمور کرده است تا کسانی را که مورد غضب او قرار گرفته اند جزا بدهند.
4The noise of a multitude is in the mountains, as of a great people; the noise of an uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Yahweh of Armies is mustering the army for the battle.
4به صدائی که از کوهها می آید، گوش بدهید. این صدا، صدای گروه بزرگ مردم و آواز اقوام و ممالک می باشد که یکجا جمع می شوند. خداوند قادر مطلق لشکر خود را برای جنگ آماده می کند.
5They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Yahweh, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
5آن ها از کشورهای دوردست و از آخرین نقطۀ زمین آمده اند تا با سلاح غضب خداوند تمام روی زمین را ویران کنند.
6Wail; for the day of Yahweh is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
6شیون و ناله کنید، زیرا روز خداوند نزدیک است و آن روزی است که قادر متعال همه را هلاک می کند.
7Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt.
7دستهای همگی سست می شوند و دلهای مردم آب می گردند.
8They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.
8همه به وحشت می افتند و مثل زنی که به درد زایمان مبتلا باشد، درد می کشند. به یکدیگر می بینند و از دیدن روی شرمندۀ یکدیگر حیرت می کنند.
9Behold, the day of Yahweh comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it.
9روز وحشتناکِ خشم و غضب خداوند فرا می رسد، زمین را خراب و گناهکاران را از روی آن محو می کند.
10For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.
10ستارگان آسمان و منظومه های آن نور نخواهند داشت. آفتاب هنگام طلوع تاریک می شود و مهتاب روشنایی نخواهد داشت.
11I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible.
11خداوند می فرماید: «من جهان را بخاطر بدی هایش جزا می دهم و بدکاران را به سبب خطاهای شان مجازات می کنم. به غرور و تکبر مردم خاتمه می دهم و اشخاص ظالم را خوار و ذلیل می سازم.
12I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir.
12مردم را از زر خالص و انسان را از طلای اوفیر کمیاب تر می کنم.
13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13در آن روز از شدت خشم من آسمان ها به لرزه می آیند، زمین از جای خود تکان می خورد.
14It will happen that like a hunted gazelle, and like sheep that no one gathers, they will each turn to their own people, and will each flee to their own land.
14بیگانگانی که در بابل زندگی می کنند، مانند آهوان رمیده و گوسفندانی که پراگنده شده باشند، می گریزند و به وطن خود بر می گردند.
15Everyone who is found will be thrust through. Everyone who is captured will fall by the sword.
15هر کسی که دیده شود و گرفتار گردد با شمشیر بقتل می رسد.
16Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped.
16کودکان آن ها در برابر چشمان شان بر زمین کوبیده می شوند. خانه های شان غارت و زنان شان بی عفت می گردند.
17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not value silver, and as for gold, they will not delight in it.
17من مادی ها را که به کشتنِ مردم زیادتر از نقره و طلا علاقه دارند، علیه آن ها می شورانم.
18Their bows will dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb. Their eyes will not spare children.
18با تیر و کمان خود جوانان شان را به خاک می افگنند و حتی بر نوزادان و کودکان شان هم رحم نمی کنند.
19Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be like when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
19خداوند بابل را که مجللترین کشورهای دنیا و زینت فخر کلدانیان است، مثل سدوم و عموره با خاک برابر می کند.
20It will never be inhabited, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch a tent there, neither will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.
20از سکنه خالی می شود و تا سالهای زیادی کسی در آن سکونت نمی کند. حتی عربهای کوچی هم در آنجا خیمه نمی زنند و چوپانها گلۀ خود را نمی چرانند،
21But wild animals of the desert will lie there, and their houses will be full of jackals. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will frolic there.
21بلکه حیوانات وحشی در آنجا زندگی می کنند، خانه های شان لانۀ بومها و شترمرغها می شود و بُزهای وحشی در آن جست و خیز می زنند.گرگها و شغالها از برجهای قصرهای زیبای شان قوله می کشند. زمان نابودی بابل نزدیک و عمر آن کوتاه است.»
22Wolves will cry in their castles, and jackals in the pleasant palaces. Her time is near to come, and her days will not be prolonged.
