¹For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Jacob.

¹خداوند بر قوم اسرائیل مهربان می شود و آن ها را دوباره بر می گزیند و به وطن شان باز می گرداند. بیگانگان هم با آن ها در آن سرزمین زندگی می کنند.

²The peoples will take them, and bring them to their place. The house of Israel will possess them in Yahweh’s land for servants and for handmaids. They will take as captives those whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

²بسیاری از کشورها در بازگشت قوم اسرائیل به آن ها کمک می کنند. بنی اسرائیل در آن سرزمینی که خداوند به آن ها داده است زن و مرد اقوام دیگر را به غلامی می گیرند و کسانی که قوم اسرائیل را به اسارت برده بودند، خود شان اسیر آن ها می شوند. و اقوامی که بر مردم اسرائیل با زور و جبر حکومت می کردند، خود آن ها فرمانبردار شان می گردند.

³It will happen in the day that Yahweh will give you rest from your sorrow, from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve,

³وقتی خداوند قوم خود را از درد و رنج و روزگارِ سختِ غلامی آسوده کند،

⁴that you will take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, “How the oppressor has ceased! The golden city has ceased!”

⁴آنوقت آن ها به طعنه به پادشاه بابل می گویند: «ای پادشاه ظالم بابل، بالاخره نابود شدی و جور و ستم تو به پایان رسید.

⁵Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,

⁵خداوند به قدرت تو خاتمه داد و از تخت سلطنت سرنگونت کرد.

⁶who struck the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained.

⁶تو با خشم و غضب همیشه به مردم آزار می رساندی و با ظلم و ستم بر آن ها حکومت می کردی.

⁷The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet. They break out song.

⁷حالا همۀ مردم روی زمین آسوده و آرام شده اند و از خوشی سرود می خوانند.

⁸Yes, the fir trees rejoice with you, with the cedars of Lebanon, saying, “Since you are humbled, no lumberjack has come up against us.”

⁸درختان صنوبر و سروهای لبنان بخاطر سقوط تو شادمانی می کنند و می گویند: «چون تو سقوط کرده ای، دیگر کسی نیست که ما را قطع کند.»

⁹ Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. from beneath has moved for you to meet you at your coming. It stirs up the dead for you, even all the rulers of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

⁹دنیای مردگان برای پذیرائی تو آماده است. ارواح حکمرانان و پادشاهان روی زمین از تختهای خود بر می خیزند و به استقبال تو می شتابند.

¹⁰They all will answer and ask you, “Have you also become as weak as we are? Have you become like us?”

¹⁰آن ها به تو می گویند: «تو هم مثل ما ناتوان شدی و با ما فرقی نداری.

¹¹Your pomp is brought down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.

¹¹جلال و شکوه تو به جهنم رفته است و آواز چنگ تو دیگر به گوش نمی رسد. حالا کرمها تشک و مورچه ها لحاف تو است.»

¹²How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!

¹²ای ستارۀ درخشان صبح، چطور از آسمان افتادی! تو که بر اقوام مقتدر جهان پیروز بودی، چگونه سقوط کردی!

¹³You said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the far north!

¹³در دلت می گفتی: «من به آسمان بالا می روم و تخت شاهی خود را بالای ستارگان خدا برقرار می سازم و بر فراز کوهی در شمال که جای اجتماع خدایان است می نشینم.

¹⁴I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!”

¹⁴بالای ابر ها می روم و مثل خدای قادر مطلق می شوم.»

¹⁵Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , to the depths of the pit.

¹⁵اما بر عکس، تو در قعر زمین که دنیای مردگان است سرنگون شدی.

¹⁶Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying, “Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms;

¹⁶مردگان وقتی ترا ببینند حیران می شوند، در فکر فرومی روند و می پرسند: «آیا این مرد همان کسی نیست که زمین را تکان می داد و پادشاهان جهان از ترس او می لرزیدند؟

¹⁷who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities; who didn’t release his prisoners to their home?”

¹⁷آیا او نبود که دنیا را به بیابان تبدیل کرد و شهرها را با خاک یکسان ساخت؟ اسیران را آزاد نمی کرد و اجازه نمی داد که به خانه های خود بروند.»

¹⁸All the kings of the nations, sleep in glory, everyone in his own house.

¹⁸پادشاهان جهان در مقبره های مجلل آرمیده اند،

¹⁹But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot.

¹⁹اما تو از قبرت بیرون افگنده می شوی و جنازه ات مانند شاخۀ پوسیده می گندد، با اجساد کشته شدگانِ جنگ پوشیده شده در گودالهای سنگی انداخته می شود و پایمال می گردد.

²⁰You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The seed of evildoers will not be named forever.

²⁰چون تو کشورت را ویران کردی و قوم خود را کشتی، بنابران، نسلی از تو باقی نمی ماند و مردم از فامیل شریران هیچ کسی را بیاد نمی آورند.

²¹Prepare for slaughter of his children because of the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities.

²¹پسرانت بخاطر گناهان اجداد شان کشته می شوند و دیگر نمی توانند به روی زمین سلطنت کنند یا شهرها در آن بسازند.»

²²“I will rise up against them,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son’s son,” says Yahweh.

²²خداوند قادر مطلق می فرماید: «من علیه بابل بر می خیزم و آنرا با خاک یکسان می کنم نام بابل، بازماندگان و نسل مردم آنرا از بین می برم.

²³“I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” says Yahweh of Armies.

²³بابل را جایگاه خارپشت ها می سازم، آنرا به جبه زار تبدیل می نمایم و با جاروی نابودی جارویش می کنم.»

²⁴Yahweh of Armies has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

²⁴خداوند قادر مطلق قسم خورده می فرماید: «آنچه را که اراده و مقدر کرده ام حتماً واقع می شود.

²⁵that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and tread him under foot on my mountains. Then his yoke will leave them, and his burden leave their shoulders.

²⁵من قدرت آشور را در سرزمین اسرائیل درهم می شکنم و همه را بر کوههای خود پایمال می کنم. یوغ اسارت را از گردن و بار غلامی را از دوش قوم برگزیدۀ خود بر می دارم.

²⁶This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.

²⁶دست خود را دراز می کنم و تمام اقوام روی زمین را جزا می دهم. اینست نقشۀ من در مورد مردم جهان.»

²⁷For Yahweh of Armies has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”

²⁷خداوند قادر مطلق این چنین مقدر فرموده است و هیچ کسی نمی تواند آنرا باطل سازد. دست خود را برای مجازات مردم جهان دراز کرده است و کسی قادر نیست که او را بازدارد.

²⁸This burden was in the year that king Ahaz died.

²⁸در سالی که آحاز پادشاه وفات کرد، این پیام از جانب خدا نازل شد:

²⁹Don’t rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root an adder will emerge, and his fruit will be a fiery flying serpent.

²⁹«ای فلسطینی ها، عصائی که شما را می زد، شکست. با اینهم شما نباید خوشحال باشید، زیرا اگر ماری بمیرد، مار دیگری بدتر از او بوجود می آید و از آن مار هم اژدهای آتشین پیدا می شود.

³⁰The firstborn of the poor will eat, and the needy will lie down in safety; and I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant will be killed.

³⁰خداوند از بیچارگان قوم برگزیدۀ خود پاسبانی می کند و آن ها در چراگاه او با خاطر آسوده بسر می برند. اما شما فلسطینی ها از قحطی و گرسنگی هلاک می شوید و بازماندگان تان هم بقتل می رسند.

³¹Howl, gate! Cry, city! You are melted away, Philistia, all of you; for smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

³¹ای شهرهای فلسطینی، ناله و شیون کنید و ای فلسطینی ها، بترسید، زیرا لشکر با انضباط دشمن که سُم اسپان شان گرد و خاک را به هوا بلند می کند، از شمال بسوی شما می آید.به قاصدانی که از فلسطین می آیند چه جواب داده شود؟ به آن ها می گوئیم که خداوند سهیون را تأسیس کرد و قوم بیچارۀ خود را در آن پناه داد.»

³²What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That Yahweh has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.

³²به قاصدانی که از فلسطین می آیند چه جواب داده شود؟ به آن ها می گوئیم که خداوند سهیون را تأسیس کرد و قوم بیچارۀ خود را در آن پناه داد.»
