¹The burden of the valley of vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?

¹این پیام برای وادی رؤیا است: چه خبر است؟ چرا مردم بر سر بامها برآمده اند؟

²You that are full of shouting, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; your slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.

²در سراسر شهر شور و غوغا برپا است. در این شهر شاد و پر جنب و جوش چه پیش آمده است؟ مردان شما که به قتل رسیده اند با شمشیر و یا در جنگ کشته نشده اند.

³All your rulers fled away together. They were bound by the archers. All who were found by you were bound together. They fled far away.

³حاکمان تان همه یکجا فرار کردند و آن ها بدون استعمال اسلحه تسلیم شدند. وقتی دشمن هنوز بسیار دور بود، شما فرار کردید همه دستگیر و اسیر شدید.

⁴Therefore I said, “Look away from me. I will weep bitterly. Don’t labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

⁴پس مرا تنها بگذارید تا بخاطر نابودی قوم خود به تلخی بگریم و سعی نکنید که مرا تسلی بدهید.

⁵For it is a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.”

⁵خداوند، خدای قادر مطلق روزی را تعیین کرده است تا اورشلیم را دچار آشفتگی، شکست و سراسیمگی کند. در آن روز دیوارهای شهر فرومی ریزند و انعکاس فریاد شان از کوهها شنیده می شود.

⁶Elam carried his quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.

⁶سپاه عیلام مسلح با تیر و کمان بر اسپهای خود سوار شده اند و عساکر کشور قیر سپرها را به دست گرفته آماده اند.

⁷It happened that your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.

⁷وادیهای سرسبز تان پُر از عراده های دشمن شده اند. سواران آن ها در پیش دروازه های شهر صف آراسته اند

⁸He took away the covering of Judah; and you looked in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

⁸و قوای دفاعی یهودا را در هم شکسته اند. در آن روز برای آوردن سلاح به اسلحه خانۀ جنگل می روید.

⁹You saw the breaches of the city of David, that they were many; and you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

⁹دیوارهای شهر را معاینه می کنید که آیا به ترمیم احتیاج دارند یا نه. خانه ها را ملاحظه می کنید تا آن ها را ویران نمائید و مصالح آن ها را برای ترمیم دیوار های شهر به کار ببرید. برای ذخیرۀ آب، مخزنِ آب در بین شهر می سازید تا آب حوض قدیمی در آن بریزد. شما برای اجرای این کارها کوشش زیاد بخرج می دهید، اما به خدا که طراح و صانع همه چیزها است اعتنائی نمی کنید.

¹⁰You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.

¹⁰در آن روز خداوند، خدای قادر مطلق شما را دعوت می کند که گریه و ماتم کنید، موهای خود را بتراشید و لباس ماتم بپوشید.

¹¹You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn’t look to him who had done this, neither did you have respect for him who purposed it long ago.

¹¹اما در عوض، شما مجالس خوشی را ترتیب می دهید، گاو و گوسفند را ذبح می کنید، می خورید و به باده نوشی می پردازید و می گوئید: «بیائید که بخوریم و بنوشیم، زیرا فردا می میریم.»

¹²In that day, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, called to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to dressing in sackcloth:

¹²خداوند، قادر مطلق به من گفته است که این گناه شما تا وقتیکه بمیرید بخشیده نمی شود. این را خداوند، قادر مطلق می فرماید.

¹³and behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die.”

¹³خداوند، خدای قادر مطلق به من فرمود که پیش شِبنا، ناظر دربار شاه بروم و به او بگویم:

¹⁴Yahweh of Armies revealed himself in my ears, “Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you until you die,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

¹⁴«تو در اینجا چه می کنی؟ در اینجا چه حق داری که برای خود قبر می کنی؟ ای کسیکه قبر خود را در این صخرۀ بلند می تراشی،

¹⁵Thus says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, “Go, get yourself to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say,

¹⁵هرقدر مهم باشی، خداوند ترا بر می دارد و دور می اندازد.

¹⁶‘What are you doing here? Who has you here, that you have dug out a tomb here?’ Cutting himself out a tomb on high, chiseling a habitation for himself in the rock!”

¹⁶او ترا مثل گلوله ای به یک سرزمین وسیع پرتاب می کند تا در آنجا در کنار عراده هایت که به آن ها افتخار می کردی بمیری. تو مایۀ ننگ خاندان آقایت هستی!

¹⁷Behold, Yahweh will overcome you and hurl you away violently. Yes, he will grasp you firmly.

¹⁷پس خداوند ترا از منصب و مقامت برطرف می کند.»

¹⁸He will surely wind you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a large country. There you will die, and there the chariots of your glory will be, you shame of your lord’s house.

¹⁸در آن روز خداوند به شِبنا می فرماید: «من بندۀ خود، اِلیاقِیم پسر حِلقیا را به جای تو منصوب می نمایم.

¹⁹I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.

¹⁹لباست را به تنش می کنم و کمربندت را به کمرش می بندم. اقتدار ترا به او می بخشم و او پدر تمام ساکنین اورشلیم و یهودا می شود.

²⁰It will happen in that day that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah,

²⁰کلید دربار سلطنت داود را به او می دهم و هر دروازه ای را که او بگشاید، هیچ کسی آنرا نمی بندد و هر دری را که بندد کسی آنرا نمی گشاید.

²¹and I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your belt. I will commit your government into his hand; and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

²¹او را مثل میخ در جاه و مقامش محکم می دارم و او باعث افتخار خانوادۀ خود می شود.

²²I will lay the key of the house of David on his shoulder. He will open, and no one will shut. He will shut, and no one will open.

²²اما تمام خانواده و فرزندانش مثل کاسه و کوزه که بر میخ می آویزد بار دوش او می شوند.آنگاه آن میخی که در جای خود محکم و استوار بود، سُست شده می افتد و باری که بر آن بود خُرد می شود.» این را خداوند فرموده است.

²³I will fasten him like a nail in a sure place. He will be for a throne of glory to his father’s house.

²³آنگاه آن میخی که در جای خود محکم و استوار بود، سُست شده می افتد و باری که بر آن بود خُرد می شود.» این را خداوند فرموده است.

²⁴They will hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the pitchers.

²⁵“In that day,” says Yahweh of Armies, “the nail that was fastened in a sure place will give way. It will be cut down, and fall. The burden that was on it will be cut off, for Yahweh has spoken it.”
