1At that time, Merodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
1در همان زمان مردوک بَلدان (پسر بَلدان) پادشاه بابل نمایندگان خود را همراه با نامه و تحفه ای پیش حزقیا فرستاد، زیرا شنیده بود که از یک بیماری سخت شفا یافته است.
2Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
2حزقیا از آن ها پذیرائی شایانی کرد و آن ها را به قصر سلطنتی برد و خزانه های طلا و نقره، عطریات، و روغنهای خوشبو و همچنین اسلحه خانۀ خود را با همه چیزهائی که در کشورش یافت می شد به آن ها نشان داد و هیچ چیزی را از آن ها پنهان نکرد.
3Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? Where did they come from to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
3آنگاه اشعیای نبی پیش حزقیا آمد و پرسید: «این مردان چه می گفتند و از کجا آمده اند؟» حزقیا پادشاه جواب داد: «آن ها از یک سرزمین دور، از بابل آمده اند.»
4Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
4اشعیا سوال کرد: «آن ها در قصر تو چه دیدند؟» حزقیا گفت: «هر چیزی که در قصر من و در خزاین بود به آن ها نشان دادم.»
5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of Yahweh of Armies:
5آنگاه اشعیا به حزقیا گفت: «به این کلام خداوند متعال گوش بده که می فرماید:
6‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.
6روزی می رسد که همه چیزی که در قصرت داری و آنچه را که پدرانت ذخیره کرده اند به بابل برده می شود و هیچ چیزی برایت باقی نمی ماند.
7‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
7بعضی از پسرانت را هم به اسارت می برند و از آن ها در قصر پادشاه بابل بعنوان خواجه سرا کار می گیرند.»حزقیا فهمید تا زمانی که او زنده است صلح و امنیت برقرار خواهد بود و گفت: «آنچه خداوند فرمود، نیکو و بجا است.»
8Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
8حزقیا فهمید تا زمانی که او زنده است صلح و امنیت برقرار خواهد بود و گفت: «آنچه خداوند فرمود، نیکو و بجا است.»
