1Listen, islands, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name:
1ای جزیره ها و ای کسانی که در کشورهای دوردست زندگی می کنید، بشنوید! پیش از آنکه تولد شوم، خداوند مرا برگزید و هنگامی که در رَحِم مادر بودم مرا به نام خواند.
2and he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand, he has hidden me: and he has made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he kept me close:
2او زبان مرا مانند شمشیر تیز ساخت و مرا در زیر سایۀ دست خود پناه داد. مثل تیر تیز و برای خدمت آماده ام کرد.
3and he said to me, “You are my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”
3او به من فرمود: «ای اسرائیل، تو خدمتگزار من هستی و سبب می شوی که مردم نام مرا تمجید و تجلیل کنند.»
4But I said, “I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with Yahweh, and my reward with my God.”
4من جواب دادم: «من برای این مردم بیهوده زحمت کشیدم و نیروی خود را بیجا صرف کردم، اما بازهم همه کارها را به خدا می سپارم و یقین دارم که او به من اجر می دهد.»
5Now says Yahweh who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Yahweh, and my God has become my strength);
5خداوند که مرا در رَحِم مادر پرورش داد و برای خدمت خود برگزید، به من فرمود تا یعقوب و قوم آوارۀ اسرائیل را بسوی او بازگردانم. خداوند با دادن این مأموریت به من افتخار بخشید و برای انجام آن نیرو عطا فرمود.
6yes, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”
6به من گفت: «این کار که تو قوم اسرائیل را باز گردانی، البته یک امر کوچکی است، اما من به تو مأموریت مهمتری می دهم که نوری برای اقوام جهان باشی و مردم را از سراسر روی زمین به سوی نجات و رستگاری هدایت کنی.»
7Thus says Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
7خداوند، خدای مقدس و نجات بخشای اسرائیل، خدائی که او را مردم ـ غلام و حاکم ـ حقیر می شمارد و نمی پذیرند، چنین می فرماید: «وقتی پادشاهان ترا ببینند، به احترام تو از جای خود بر می خیزند و شهزادگان در برابر تو تعظیم می کنند، زیرا تو شخص برگزیدۀ خداوند وفادار، قدوس اسرائیل هستی.»
8Thus says Yahweh, “In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage:
8خداوند می فرماید: «در یک وقت مساعد که روز نجات است، تقاضای ترا می پذیرم. ترا پناه می دهم و از تو حمایت می کنم. توسط تو با این قوم پیمان می بندم. کشور ویران آن ها را دوباره آباد می کنم و به آن ها باز می گردانم.
9saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’; to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves!’ “They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.
9به اسیران می گویم که آزاد شوند و به کسانی که در تاریکی بسر می برند می گویم که بیرون آیند. آن ها را مانند گوسفندانی که در چراگاههای سرسبز می چرند، از نعمت های خود برخوردار می سازم.
10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water he will guide them.
10گرسنه و تشنه نمی شوند. باد و آفتاب سوزان به آن ها صدمه ای نمی رساند، زیرا کسی که به آن ها شفقت دارد، رهنمای شان می باشد و آن ها را به چشمه های آب هدایت می کند.
11I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
11من کوهها را به شاهراه تبدیل می کنم تا راه شان صاف و هموار باشد.
12Behold, these shall come from far; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.”
12قوم برگزیدۀ من از جاهای دور می آیند، بعضی از شمال و برخی از غرب و عده ای از دیار سینیم در جنوب باز می گردند.»
13Sing, heavens; and be joyful, earth; and break forth into singing, mountains: for Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
13ای آسمان ها نغمۀ شادمانی را سردهید و ای زمین خوشحال باش! و ای کوهها سرود خوشی را بنوازید، زیرا خداوند بر قوم رنجدیدۀ خود مهربان شده و آن ها را تسلی می دهد.
14But Zion said, “Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”
14اما سهیون می گوید: «خداوند مرا ترک کرده و از یاد برده است.»
15“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!
15خداوند جواب می دهد: «آیا یک مادر می تواند طفل شیرخوار خود را فراموش کند؟ آیا می تواند به کودکی که در رَحِم خود پرورش داده است، شفقت نشان ندهد؟ باز هم ممکن است مادر این کار را بکند، اما من ترا فراموش نمی کنم.
16Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
16من نام ترا در کف دست خود نوشته ام و از دیوارهایت محافظت می کنم.
17Your children make haste; your destroyers and those who made you waste shall go forth from you.
17فرزندانت بزودی می آیند تا دوباره آبادت کنند و کسانی که ترا ویران کردند، از تو خارج می شوند.
18Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says Yahweh, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.
18به اطرافت نگاه کن و ببین همۀ مردمت جمع شده اند و به سوی تو می آیند. به حیات خود قسم می خورم که به آن ها فخر خواهی کرد، همانطوری که یک عروس به زیور لباس خود می بالد.
19“For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now you shall be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up shall be far away.
19جاهای خراب و ویرانه هایت از مردم پُر می شوند و کسانی که باعث ویرانی تو شده بودند پی کار خود می روند.
20The children of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, The place is too small for me; give place to me that I may dwell.
20فرزندانت که در دوران تبعید تولد شده بودند، به تو می گویند: «اینجا بسیار تنگ است، جای فراختری برای سکونت ما بده.»
21Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has conceived these for me, since I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering back and forth? Who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?’”
21آنگاه از خود می پرسی: «چه کسی اینها را برای من بدنیا آورده است؟ من فرزندانم را از دست دادم و دیگر صاحب فرزندی نمی شوم. بعضی از آن ها که زنده ماندند اسیر و تبعید شدند و من تنها ماندم، پس اینها از کجا آمده اند؟»»
22Thus says the Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my banner to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
22خداوند، خدا می فرماید: «من بزودی اقوام جهان را مجبور می سازم که پسرانت را در آغوش و دخترانت را بر دوش گرفته و برایت بیاورند.
23Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me shall not be disappointed.”
23پادشاهان مثل لاله و ملکه ها مانند دایه از تو مراقبت می کنند و خاک پایت را می لیسند. آنگاه می دانی که من خداوند هستم و هر کسی که منتظر من باشد، شرمنده نمی شود.»
24Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
24آیا کسی می تواند غنیمت را از یک جنگ آور بگیرد و یا اسیران را از دست یک حاکم ظالم نجات بدهد؟
25But thus says Yahweh, “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
25خداوند در جواب می فرماید: «همین کار واقعاً رخ می دهد، بلی، اسیران از دست حاکم ستمگر آزادی می یابند و غنیمت از چنگ عسکر فاتح ربوده می شود. من با دشمنانت می جنگم و فرزندانت را نجات می دهم.کاری می کنم که دشمنانت گوشت بدن یکدیگر را بخورند و با نوشیدن خون همدیگر مست شوند. آنوقت همۀ مردم می دانند که من خداوند، خدای توانای یعقوب، نجات دهنده و حافظ شما هستم.»
26I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
26کاری می کنم که دشمنانت گوشت بدن یکدیگر را بخورند و با نوشیدن خون همدیگر مست شوند. آنوقت همۀ مردم می دانند که من خداوند، خدای توانای یعقوب، نجات دهنده و حافظ شما هستم.»
