¹Yahweh said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz; “Maher Shalal Hash Baz” means “quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil.” ’

¹خداوند به من فرمود: «یک لوحۀ بزرگ را بگیر و بر آن بنویس: «مهیر شَلال حاش بَز.» (عجله کنید، مال تان تاراج می شود.)

²and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”

²من اوریای کاهن و زِکَریای پسر یَبَرکیا را که اشخاص صادق هستند فراخواندم که هنگام نوشتن حاضر باشند و شهادت بدهند که من آنرا نوشته ام.

³I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then Yahweh said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’

³من با همسر خود که چون زن نبی بود، همبستر شدم و او حامله شد. پس از چندی پسری بدنیا آورد و خداوند فرمود که او را «مهیر شَلال حاش بَز» بنامم.

⁴For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father,’ and, ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria.”

⁴پیش از آنکه آن کودک بتواند «پدر» و «مادر» بگوید، پادشاه آشور به دمشق و سامره حمله کرده مال و دارائی آن ها را تاراج می کنند.»

⁵Yahweh spoke to me yet again, saying,

⁵بار دیگر خداوند به من فرمود:

⁶“Because this people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

⁶«چون این مردم آب های شیلوه را که به آرامی جاری است خوار شمردند و از رزین و پسر رِملیا خوش هستند،

⁷now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.

⁷بنابران، من پادشاه آشور را با تمام قوای او برای حمله به اینجا می فرستم و آن ها مانند دریای فرات که لبریز می شود و طغیان می کند، بر یهودا هجوم می آورند و سراسر آن سرزمین را پُر می کنند.» خدا با ما است! بالهای پهن او از کشور حمایت می نماید.

⁸It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through; it will reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, Immanuel.

⁸ای مردمان، یکجا جمع شوید و بترسید. شما ای کشورهای دوردست، با ترس آماده باشید. آماده باشید و بترسید.

⁹Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!

⁹با هم مشوره کنید و تصمیم بگیرید، اما بدانید که موفق نمی شوید. هرچه می خواهید بگوئید، ولی فایده ندارد، زیرا که خدا با ما است.

¹⁰Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand: for God is with us.”

¹⁰خداوند به تأکید امر کرد به راهی که مردم در پیش گرفته اند نروم و فرمود:

¹¹For Yahweh spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

¹¹«در نقشه و دسیسۀ مردم شرکت نکنید و از چیزی که آن ها می ترسند شما نباید بترسید.

¹²“Don’t say, ‘A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say, ‘A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.

¹²بخاطر داشته باشید که من، خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای مقدس هستم و شما باید از من بترسید و وحشت کنید.

¹³Yahweh of Armies is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.

¹³من پناهگاه هستم، اما برای مردم یهودا و اسرائیل سنگِ مُصادِم می باشم که وقتی بر آن پا نهند می لغزند و دامی هستم برای گرفتاری ساکنین اورشلیم.

¹⁴He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

¹⁴بسیاری از آن ها لغزش می خورند، می افتند، پایمال می گردند و بعضی در دام افتاده گرفتار می شوند.»

¹⁵Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”

¹⁵ای شاگردان من، طریقی را که خداوند به من نشان داده است، حفظ کنید.

¹⁶Wrap up the testimony. Seal the law among my disciples.

¹⁶گرچه خداوند، خود را از قوم یعقوب پنهان کرده است، اما من به خداوند توکل می کنم و به او امید دارم.

¹⁷I will wait for Yahweh, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

¹⁷من و فرزندانی که خداوند به من داده است، از طرف خداوند قادر مطلق که جایگاهش در کوه سهیون است، برای قوم اسرائیل علامت و نشانه می باشیم.

¹⁸Behold, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Yahweh of Armies, who dwells in Mount Zion.

¹⁸مردم به شما می گویند که با فالبینان و جادوگران که وِرد می خوانند، مشوره کنید و می پرسند: «آیا مردم از خدایان خود مشوره نخواهند؟ مردم باید از ارواح بخاطر زنده ها مشورت و راهنمائی بطلبند.»

¹⁹When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:” shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

¹⁹به کلام و احکام خدا توجه کنید. اگر موافق این کلام حرف نزنند، پس برای شان روشنایی نیست.

²⁰Turn to the law and to the testimony! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

²⁰مردم آواره و سرگردان می شوند و در ناامیدی، گرسنگی و تشنگی بسر می برند. سپس وقتیکه گرسنه شوند، از روی خشم، پادشاه و خدای خود را نفرین می کنند و به آسمان می نگرند،به زمین نگاه می کنند، اما فقط سختی و تاریکی و پریشانی را می بینند و به سوی تاریکی مطلق رانده می شوند.

²¹They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry; and it will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse by their king and by their God. They will turn their faces upward,

²¹به زمین نگاه می کنند، اما فقط سختی و تاریکی و پریشانی را می بینند و به سوی تاریکی مطلق رانده می شوند.

²²and look to the earth, and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
