1But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
1اما برای کسانی که در سختی و تنگی هستند، این تاریکی همیشه باقی نمی ماند. خدا در گذشته قبایل زبولون و نفتالی را خوار و ذلیل ساخته بود، اما در آینده به همین سرزمین از بحر مدیترانه تا آن طرف دریای اُردن و حتی تا خود جلیل که بیگانگان در آن زندگی می کنند، جلال و شکوه می آورد.
2The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.
2قومی که در تاریکی راه می رفتند، نور عظیمی را می بینند و بر کسانی که در سرزمین تاریک بسر می بردند، روشنی می تابد.
3You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
3خداوندا، تو به خوشی قوم افزودی و به آن ها سُرُور و شادمانی بخشیدی. آن ها مثل کسانی که محصول خود را درو می کنند و مانند آنهائی که غنایم را بین خود تقسیم می نمایند، در حضور تو سرمستِ خوشی هستند.
4For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.
4زیرا یوغ را از گردن و بار را از دوش شان برداشتی و مثلیکه در گذشته مدیان را شکست دادی، تجاوزگران را هم مغلوب کردی.
5For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.
5تمام سلاح و البسۀ جنگجویان به خون آغشته می شوند و در آتش می سوزند.
6For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
6زیرا فرزندی برای ما متولد شده و پسری برای ما بخشیده شده است. به او قدرت و اختیار داده شده است. نام او «مشاور عجیب»، «خدای قادر»، «پدر جاودانی» و «سلطان سلامتی» می باشد.
7Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.
7بر تخت سلطنت داود می نشیند. قدرت و اختیار او روزافزون بوده تا ابد پادشاهی می کند. پایۀ سلطنتش بر عدل و انصاف استوار بوده و پادشاهی سلامتی او انتهائی نخواهد داشت.
رضای خداوند قادر مطلق چنین است و همین کار را انجام می دهد.
8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.
8خداوند تمام قوم اسرائیل را که اولادۀ یعقوب هستند، به جزا می رساند.
9All the people will know, including Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart,
9همۀ مردم اسرائیل، هر کسی که در سامره زندگی می کند، می داند که او این کار را کرده است، زیرا این مردم، مغرور و متکبر شده اند.
10“The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.”
10می گویند: «خشت های خانه ریخته اند، اما ما آن ها را با سنگهای تراشیده دوباره آباد می کنیم. تیرهای چوب چنار که شکسته اند، به عوض آن ها تیرهای سرو به کار می بریم.»
11Therefore Yahweh will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies,
11بنابران، خداوند دشمنان را علیه آن ها می فرستد.
12The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
12او مردم سوریه را از شرق و فلسطینی ها را از غرب می فرستد تا اسرائیل را به کام خود فروبرند. با اینهم خشم او فرو ننشسته و دست او هنوز هم برای مجازات آن ها بالا است.
13Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Armies.
13با اینکه خدا هنوز هم بر آن ها خشمگین است، توبه نمی کنند و خدای قادر مطلق را نمی جویند.
14Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.
14لهذا، خداوند در یک روز مردم اسرائیل و رهبران شان را مجازات می کند و سَر و دُم آن ها را می بُرد.
15The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.
15مو سفیدان و اشراف شان سر و انبیائی که به مردم تعلیم غلط دهند، دُم آن ها هستند.
16For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.
16رهبران شان آن ها را گمراه ساخته و به راه تباهی برده اند.
17Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
17بنابران، خداوند بر جوانان آن ها رحم نکرد و یتیمان و بیوه زنان شان را هم جزا داد. با اینهم خشم او فرو ننشسته و دست او هنوز هم برای مجازات آن ها بالا است.
18For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
18شرارت این مردم مثل آتش همه چیز را می سوزاند و خار و خس را از بین می برد.
19Through the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, the land is burnt up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.
19خداوند قادر مطلق خشمگین است و آتش خشم او سراسر آن سرزمین را می سوزاند. از مردم بحیث هیزم کار می گیرد و هیچ کسی در امان نمی ماند.
20One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:
20مردم به هر طرف دست می اندازند و هرچه به دست آورند می خورند، اما سیر نمی شوند و از شدت گرسنگی حتی گوشت اطفال خود را می خورند.قبیلۀ منسی و قبیلۀ افرایم به یکدیگر حمله می کنند و هر دو متفق شده علیه یهودا بر می خیزند. با اینهم قهر خدا فرو ننشسته و دست او هنوز هم برای مجازات مردم دراز است.
21Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
21قبیلۀ منسی و قبیلۀ افرایم به یکدیگر حمله می کنند و هر دو متفق شده علیه یهودا بر می خیزند. با اینهم قهر خدا فرو ننشسته و دست او هنوز هم برای مجازات مردم دراز است.
