1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
1در ابتدای سلطنت یَهویاقیم پسر یوشِیا، پادشاه یهودا، این کلام از جانب خداوند به ارمیا آمد:
2Thus says Yahweh to me: Make bonds and bars, and put them on your neck;
2خداوند به من چنین فرمود: برای خود یوغی بساز و با تسمه های چرمی به گردن خود ببند.
3and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah;
3بعد پیام او را ذریعۀ نمایندگان ادوم، موآب، عمون، صور و صیدون که به اورشلیم بحضور صدقیا، پادشاه یهودا آمده بودند به پادشاهان شان برسان.
4and give them a command to their masters, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, You shall tell your masters:
4بگو که خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای اسرائیل چنین می فرماید:
5I have made the earth, the men and the animals that are on the surface of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems right to me.
5«به سروران خود بگوئید که من با قدرت عظیم و بازوی توانای خود زمین را با تمام انسان و حیوان که بر روی آن زندگی می کنند، آفریده ام و آن را به هر کسی که بخواهم می دهم.
6Now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the animals of the field also have I given him to serve him.
6حالا من تمام این سرزمین را به بندۀ خود، نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، می بخشم. حتی حیوانات وحشی را رام می سازم و در اختیار او قرار می دهم.
7All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondservant.
7تا زمانی که نوبت سقوط حکومت او برسد، همۀ اقوام خدمتگزار او و همچنین از پسر و نواسه اش می باشند. بعد اقوام دیگر و پادشاهان بزرگ او را غلام خود می سازند.
8It shall happen, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says Yahweh, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
8اما هر قوم یا سلطنتی که به نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل تسلیم نشود و یوغ بندگی او را بگردن نگیرد، من آن قوم را با شمشیر و قحطی و وُبا جزا می دهم تا بکلی نابود شوند. خداوند چنین فرموده است.
9But as for you, don’t you listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:
9پس شما نباید به سخنان انبیاء و فالبینان و کسانی که خواب و رؤیا می بینند و جادوگری می کنند، گوش بدهید. آن ها می گویند که شما نباید مُطیع پادشاه بابل شوید.
10for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.
10زیرا آن ها با سخنان دروغ خود شما را فریب می دهند و در نتیجه، شما از سرزمین تان رانده شده هلاک می گردید.
11But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that nation will I let remain in their own land, says Yahweh; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
11اما هر قومی که زیر یوغ بندگی پادشاه بابل برود، به آن اجازه می دهم که در سرزمین خود باقی بماند و کشت و زراعت کند.» خداوند فرموده است.
12I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
12من همین چیزها را به صدقیا، پادشاه یهودا نیز بیان کردم و گفتم که بزیر یوغ بندگی پادشاه بابل برود و خدمت او و مردمش را بکند تا زنده بماند.
13Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
13چرا تو و قومت در اثر شمشیر و قحطی و وُبا بمیرید؟ چنانکه خداوند فرموده است: هر قومی که تسلیم پادشاه بابل نشود به چنین سرنوشتی دچار می شود.
14Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.
14به سخنان انبیای دروغین که به شما می گویند خدمت پادشاه بابل را نکنید، گوش ندهید، زیرا آن ها دروغ می گویند.
15For I have not sent them, says Yahweh, but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you, and the prophets who prophesy to you.
15خداوند می فرماید: «من آن ها را نفرستاده ام آن ها به دروغ بنام من پیشگوئی می کنند. پس اگر حرف آن ها را قبول کنید، آنوقت شما را با آن انبیای کاذب از این سرزمین می رانم.»
16Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of Yahweh’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.
16بعد به کاهنان و مردم گفتم که خداوند چنین می فرماید: «به سخنان و پیشگوئی های انبیای دروغین توجه نکنید. آن ها می گویند که ظروف عبادتگاه که به بابل برده شده بودند، بزودی باز آورده می شوند. آن ها دروغ می گویند.
17Don’t listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: why should this city become a desolation?
17به حرف آن ها گوش ندهید، بلکه خدمت پادشاه بابل را کنید تا زنده بمانید. چرا می خواهید این شهر ویران شود؟
18But if they be prophets, and if the word of Yahweh be with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.
18اگر آن ها انبیای واقعی هستند و اگر از جانب من پیشگوئی می کنند، باید از من که خداوند قادر مطلق هستم درخواست کنند تا ظروف دیگری که در عبادتگاه و در قصر پادشاه یهودا و در اورشلیم باقی مانده اند به بابل برده نشوند.»
19For thus says Yahweh of Armies concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,
19(وقتی که نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، یهویاکین (پسر یَهویاقیم) را همراه با بزرگان یهودا و اورشلیم به بابل اسیر برد، بعضی از چیزها را از قبیل ستونها، حوض، پایه ها و دیگر آلات قیمتی را بجا گذاشت.)
20which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn’t take, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
20«به آنچه که من، خداوند مطلق، خدای اسرائیل می گویم گوش کنید: آن ظروف و اسبابی که در عبادتگاه و در قصر پادشاه یهودا و در اورشلیم باقی مانده اند،به بابل برده می شوند و در آنجا باقی می مانند تا زمانی که آن ها دوباره مورد توجه من قرار گیرند و آنگاه همه را به این مکان باز می آورم.» خداوند چنین فرموده است.
21yes, thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:
21به بابل برده می شوند و در آنجا باقی می مانند تا زمانی که آن ها دوباره مورد توجه من قرار گیرند و آنگاه همه را به این مکان باز می آورم.» خداوند چنین فرموده است.
22They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be, until the day that I visit them, says Yahweh; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
