¹Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

¹در این هنگام جمعیتی که هزاران هزار نفر می شد گرد آمده بود به طوری که یکدیگر را زیر پا می کردند. عیسی پیش از همه با شاگردان خود شروع به سخن کرده گفت: «از خمیرمایۀ فریسی ها یعنی منافقت آنها احتیاط کنید.

² But there is nothing covered up, that will not be revealed, nor hidden, that will not be known.

²هرچه پوشیده است عاقبت پرده از رویش برداشته خواهد شد و هرچه پنهان است آشکار خواهد شد.

³ Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

³بنابراین آنچه را که در تاریکی گفته اید، در روشنایی روز شنیده خواهد شد و آنچه را که پشت درهای بسته نجوا کرده اید، روی بامها اعلام خواهد شد.

⁴ “I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

⁴به شما که دوستان من هستید می گویم: از کسانی که بدن را می کشند و بعد از آن کار دیگری از دست شان بر نمی آید نترسید.

⁵ But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. or, Hell Yes, I tell you, fear him.

⁵شما را آگاه می سازم که از چه کسی باید بترسید: از آن کسی بترسید که پس از کشتن، اختیار دارد به جهنم اندازد. بلی، می گویم از او باید ترسید.

⁸ “I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, him will the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God;

⁹ but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of the angels of God.

⁹اما هرکه در برابر مردم بگوید که مرا نمی شناسد در حضور فرشتگان خدا ناشناس محسوب خواهد شد.

¹⁰ Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

¹⁰هرکه کلمه ای بر ضد پسر انسان بگوید بخشیده خواهد شد اما برای آن کسی که به روح القدس بد بگوید بخشیده نخواهد شد.

¹¹ When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer, or what you will say;

¹¹وقتی شما را به کنیسه ها و محاکم و به حضور فرمانروایان می آورند نگران نباشید که چطور از خود دفاع کنید و چه بگوئید،

¹² for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”

¹²چون در همان ساعت روح القدس به شما نشان می دهد که چه بگویید.»

¹³One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

¹³مردی از میان جمعیت به عیسی گفت: «ای استاد، به برادر من بگو ارث خانواده را با من تقسیم کند.»

¹⁴But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

¹⁴جواب داد: «ای مرد، کی مرا در میان شما قاضی و حَکَم قرار داده است؟»

¹⁵He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

¹⁵بعد به مردم فرمود: «هوشیار باشید. از هر نوع چشم گرسنگی و طمع، خود را دور بدارید، زیرا زندگی واقعی را ثروت فراوان، تشکیل نمی دهد.»

¹⁶He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly.

¹⁶سپس برای ایشان این مَثَل را آورده گفت: «مردی زمینی داشت که محصول فراوانی آورد.

¹⁷ He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’

¹⁷با خود فکر کرد که: «چه کنم؟ جا ندارم که محصول خود را انبار کنم.»

¹⁸ He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

¹⁸سپس گفت: «خوب، فهمیدم چکار کنم، انبارها را خراب می کنم و آن ها را بزرگتر می سازم. غله و سایر اجناسم را جمع آوری می کنم.

¹⁹ I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.”’

¹⁹آن وقت به خود می گویم: ای جان من، تو به فراوانی چیزهای خوب جمع کرده ای که برای سالیان درازی کفایت می کند، آسوده باش، بخور و بنوش و خوش بگذران.»

²⁰ “But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

²⁰اما خدا به او فرمود: «ای احمق، همین امشب باید جانت را تسلیم کنی، پس آنچه اندوخته ای مال کی خواهد بود؟»

²¹ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

²¹این است عاقبت مردی که برای خود ثروت می اندوزد ولی پیش خدا مفلس است.»

²²He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.

²²به شاگردان فرمود: «به این سبب است که به شما می گویم: به خاطر زندگی، نگران غذا و برای بدن، نگران لباس نباشید،

²³ Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

²³زیرا زندگی بالا تر از غذا و بدن بالا تر از لباس است.

²⁴ Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

²⁴به زاغها فکر کنید: نه می کارند و نه درو می کنند، نه انبار دارند و نه کاهدان، ولی خدا به آن ها روزی می دهد و شما خیلی بیشتر از پرندگان ارزش دارید!

²⁵ Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?

²⁵آیا یکی از شما می تواند با نگرانی ساعتی به طول عمر خود بیفزاید؟

²⁶ If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

²⁶پس اگر شما کاری به این کوچکی را هم نمی توانید بکنید چرا در مورد بقیۀ چیزها نگران هستید؟

²⁷ Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

²⁷در رشد و نموی سوسنها تأمل کنید: نه می ریسند و نه می بافند، ولی بدانید که حتی سلیمان هم با آن همه حشمت و جلال مثل یکی از آن ها آراسته نشد،

²⁸ But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

²⁸باری، اگر خدا علفی را که امروز در صحرا می روید و فردا در تنور سوخته می شود چنین می آراید چقدر بیشتر ای کم ایمانان شما را خواهد پوشانید!

²⁹ Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

²⁹برای آنچه می خورید و می نوشید اینقدر تشویش نکنید و نگران نباشید،

³⁰ For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

³⁰چون اینها تماماً چیزهایی است که مردم این دنیا دنبال می کنند. اما شما پدری دارید که می داند به آن ها محتاجید.

³¹ But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

³¹شما پادشاهی او را هدف خود قرار دهید و بقیۀ چیزها به شما نیز داده خواهد شد.

³² Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

³²ای گلۀ کوچک، هیچ نترسید، زیرا خوشی پدر شما در این است که آن پادشاهی را به شما عطا کند.

³³ Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys.

³³آنچه دارید بفروشید و به فقرا بدهید و برای خود بکس هایی آماده کنید که کهنه نمی شود و گنجی در آن عالم ذخیره نمائید که هیچ کم نمی شود و هیچ دزدی نمی تواند به آن دستبرد بزند و موریانه آن را تباه نمی کند،

³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

³⁴زیرا اموال شما هر کجا باشد دل شما هم آنجا خواهد بود.

³⁵ “Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

³⁵با کمرهای بسته و چراغ های روشن آمادۀ کار باشید.

³⁶ Be like men watching for their lord, when he returns from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.

³⁶مانند اشخاصی باشید که منتظر آمدن ارباب خود از یک مجلس عروسی هستند و حاضرند که هر وقت برسد و در را بکوبد، او را به داخل بیاورند.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them.

³⁷خوشا به حال خادمانی که وقتی ارباب شان می آید آنها را چشم به راه ببیند. بیقین بدانید که کمر خود را خواهد بست، آنها را بر سردسترخوان خواهد نشانید و به خدمت آن ها خواهد پرداخت،

³⁸ They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so.

³⁸چه نیمه شب باشد و چه قبل از سپیده دم، خوشا به حال آنها اگر وقتی ارباب شان می آید ملاحظه کند که آن ها چشم به راه هستند.

³⁹ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into.

³⁹خاطرجمع باشید، اگر صاحب خانه می دانست که دزد چه ساعتی می آید، نمی گذاشت وارد خانه اش بشود.

⁴⁰ Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

⁴⁰پس آماده باشید چون پسر انسان در ساعتی می آید که شما کمتر انتظار آن را دارید.»

⁴¹Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

⁴¹پِترُس عرض کرد: «خداوندا، آیا مقصد تو از این مثال تنها ما هستیم یا برای همه است؟»

⁴²The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

⁴²عیسی خداوند فرمود: «خوب، کیست آن ناظر امین و با تدیبر که اربابش او را مقرر کند تا نوکرانش را اداره نماید و در وقت مناسب جیرۀ آن ها را بدهد؟

⁴³ Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.

⁴³خوشا به حال آن غلامی که وقتی اربابش می آید او را سر کار خود ببیند.

⁴⁴ Truly I tell you, that he will set him over all that he has.

⁴⁴بیقین بدانید که اربابش او را ناظر همۀ املاک خود خواهد کرد.

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken,

⁴⁵اما اگر آن غلام به خود بگوید: «ارباب به این زودی نخواهد آمد» و دست به آزار غلامان و کنیزان بزند و بخورد و بنوشد و مستی کند،

⁴⁶ then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him, and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

⁴⁶یک روز که آن غلام انتظارش را ندارد و در ساعتی که او نمی داند ارباب خواهد رسید و او را تکه تکه خواهد کرد و به این ترتیب او جزو نامطیعان خواهد شد.

⁴⁷ That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

⁴⁷غلامی که خواسته های ارباب خود را می داند و با وجود این برای اجرای آن ها هیچ اقدامی نمی کند با قمچین ضربه های بسیار خواهد خورد.

⁴⁸ but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

⁴⁸اما کسی که از خواسته های اربابش بی خبر است و مرتکب عملی می شود که سزاور تنبیه می باشد ضربه های کمتری خواهد خورد. هرگاه به کسی زیاده داده شود از او زیاد مطالبه خواهد شد و هرگاه به کسی زیادتر سپرده شود از او زیادتر مطالبه خواهد شد.

⁴⁹ “I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

⁴⁹من آمده ام تا بر روی زمین آتشی روشن کنم و ای کاش زودتر از این روشن می شد.

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

⁵⁰من تعمیدی در پیش دارم که باید اجرا شود و تا زمان انجام آن چقدر زیر فشار هستم!

⁵¹ Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

⁵¹آیا گمان می کنید من آمده ام تا صلح بر روی زمین برقرار کنم؟ نخیر، اینطور نیست! بدانید که من آمده ام تا تفرقه بیاندازم،

⁵² For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

⁵²زیرا از این پس بین پنج نفر اعضای یک خانواده تفرقه خواهد افتاد، سه نفر مخالف دو نفر و دو نفر مخالف سه نفر خواهند بود:

⁵³ They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Micah 7:6

⁵³پدر مخالف پسر و پسر مخالف پدر، مادر مخالف دختر و دختر مخالف مادر، خشو مخالف عروس و عروس مخالف خشو.»

⁵⁴ He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.

⁵⁴همچنین به مردم فرمود: «شما وقتی می بینید که ابر ها از مغرب نمودار می شوند فوراً می گوئید: «باران می بارد» و باران هم می بارد.

⁵⁵ When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.

⁵⁵وقتی باد از جانب جنوب می آید می گوئید: «گرمای شدیدی خواهد شد» و همینطور می شود.

⁵⁶ You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?

⁵⁶ای منافقان! شما که می توانید به ظواهر زمین و آسمان نگاه کنید و حالت آن را پیش بینی کنید چگونه از درک معنی این روزگار عاجزید؟

⁵⁷ Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

⁵⁷چرا نمی توانید راه راست را برای خود تشخیص دهید؟

⁵⁸ For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.

⁵⁸اگر کسی برضد تو دعوی کند و تو را به محکمه بکشاند کوشش کن هنگامی که هنوز در راه هستی با او صلح نمایی و اگر نه او تو را پیش قاضی می برد و قاضی تو را به دست عسکر می دهد و عسکر تو را به زندان می اندازد.بدان که تا پول آخر را ندهی بیرون نخواهی آمد.»

⁵⁹ I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, until you have paid the very last penny. literally, lepton. A lepton is a very small brass Jewish coin worth half a Roman quadrans each, which is worth a quarter of the copper assarion. Lepta are worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages. ”

⁵⁹بدان که تا پول آخر را ندهی بیرون نخواهی آمد.»
